Visited this location again today (1 week after this original review). I got the Italian sandwich on wheat (combo). This was the most well made Italian sandwich I've had, not just at firehouse but period. Delicious! Friendly staff, even when they were so busy, not a single table was open. Kids eat free Saturday and Sunday at this location. My daughter is new to eating sandwiches (she's 3). She LOVED her hot ham and cheese sub and cookies and cream cookie. I really enjoy this location. I haven't had much luck with friendly staff or good food at any other Firehouse location. read more

Popped in here to have lunch with my 2 little ladies on a Saturday. We have always loved the subs here and usually opt to eat here on the weekends and take advantage of the kids eat free with an adult order. I haven't been here in a while but I have always been greeted with a cheerful hello when entering and everyone has always been pleasant. Well today I was greeted by a less than pleasant hello and then the same young lady took our order and honestly I was so disappointed. Both of my children one being 15 and the other 9 have been placing their own orders for a while now as I have taught my children to speak up and clearly and to look at a person when speaking they have great communication skills. I have NEVER had so many problems with this before. As my daughters were placing their orders before they could complete anything the girl behind the counter would rudely cut them off and and ask them questions about their order in a snappy manner to the point I felt like I need to step in and place their orders for them ( which is exactly what I did ). When she rang us up the total was over 30 dollars ( I was charged for the kids meal for my youngest daughter) but I was so happy to have it over so I paid and we proceeded to go get our drinks. When I tell you every drink in that machine was flat and tasted horrible I mean EVERY single one. I ended up with water and the girls with unsweetened tea. The restaurant was not clean, not one of the 3 employees we seen here were even in the least bit pleasant and I over paid. My sub was good however my youngest daughters sub did not have lettuce or tomato ( which she did request however she probably was not heard as she was constantly being talked over). I'm so disappointed in our experience here and unfortunately I probably will not return. I expect my children and myself to treated with the same amount of respect that we offer you and that was not the case here today. read more

Let's start out with I was having the most terrible day. Me and the wife was going at it. Car had a flat, and I had not eaten a thing. Finally we order the food we get there. Our tire is leaking air. Our son is screaming. Finally we get our food, I drop the cup in the parking lot day ruined even further. Came in this Saturday afternoon and one of the younger ladies that was working behind the counter had just walked in from getting to go food from Chick-fil-A down the street.. mentioned to her co worker that it was a long walk.. and immediately greeted me at the register ready to take my order. NEVER attempted to WASH HER HANDS and went on to make orders. Also charged me for a kids meal when I had purchased an adult meal - didn't realize until after there is a big sign on the window saying kids under age 12 eat free Saturday and Sunday with the purchase of 1 adult meal. Establishment overall not clean. Sandwich slopped together. I usually like Firehouse subs OK but I will never revisit this location and will think twice about visiting any other location as well. I would like to mention the employees were nice but they are obviously in dire need of food safety training! Firstly should have washed her hands when she walked in from being on break - secondly should have washed her hands from handling money before going to make food. read more

SUBPAR at best, even that is too high of a rating, as is one star. We spend about $30.00 to $40.00 + a week at the #1207 Firehouse Sub shop and are most sorry to say that we will NEVER purchase from them again- PERIOD. I would like to preface this with saying that we always order basically the same thing straight off the menu, no special orders or changes to what is on the menu at any time, usually 3 to 4 medium and large Firehouse Steak & Cheese subs- Take out, ALWAYS ordered in person and waited in person for them to be prepared. For the last 3 weeks the steak sub barely had any meat on them, was luke warm to completely cold at best and one piece of onion on several of them- that's all, one tiny piece. There were no peppers of any kind,(there should have been bell peppers as per the menu and past experiences) Not to mention, the bread was dried out/stale as if it had been left on the counter for a day or two. Also for the past 3 weeks of purchases no side pickle was added as is the usual, but there was no side pickle at all with ANY of the subs ordered weekly, EVEN when we asked last night to make sure we received them, we arrived home only to find there was no pickle along with other issues noted above... We called & asked to speak to the manager, the person who answered said he was indeed the manager and when we expressed our concern as to what we've experienced over the past 3 weeks, he said, very harshly "Well, what do you expect me to do about it? No free food or money back." We didn't/don't want free food or money back we just want what we had paid for... what is listed on the menu, ya know? What has happened to this particular shop??? Are they under new management or what?? We do NOT recommend this firehouse sub shop to anyone- which is a shame because we really enjoyed them before this started 3 weeks ago- 3 strikes and they're definitely off of our personal menu. Again, they've become COMPLETELY SUBPAR for the past 3 weeks- might as well go ANYWHERE but the Firehouse subs in Asheboro. We also diligently donated several dollars a week to the donation canister and/or by rounding up at the register, so, if you like the "idea" behind the shop, you can donate to the local FD's and bypass them and the headache all together- just sayin'. read more

Worse service ever! Placed an online order just after 11. Was offered ASAP, and pushed it back to later 11:45 pick-up. Got there at 11:50, and order wasn't ready. Was rudely told by Summer that they were busy so it was t ready. Then 1 order was missing (put in separate order for a couple people). Had to wait on that. Asked again, cause the rest of order was getting cold, and o oh then was it moved up. Left at 12:25 for a pick up that was set for 11:45! Not Cool. read more

Love the food, the service not so much. This makes the second time I've tried calling in a sub at Asheboro location. The phones offer continued ringing the first time and busy signal the other time. Also both times I pulled up to find employees were serving no one. Walked right in both times and had my order in 2-5 minutes. During a pandemic restaurants should provide call-in ordering and curbside delivery. But you can't even get through on the phone. If I can get through the next two times I'll raise the rating one star and for every other 2x I'll go up to 4 stars. But that's contingent on their cleanliness also. Place is nasty with rugs stacked up on top of the trash bin against a drink cooler at customer eye level. Management better get a move on their people or this one is heading out of business. read more

The worst experience at a Firehouse subs restaurant. When I walked in, a Hispanic customer had already ordered a large order. I walked up to the "order here" sign (I'm the only one in line). The Hispanic customer was speaking to the Hispanic Manager. When the cashier greeted me and started to take my order, he removed my order and let the other individual place another order. This store is non-American. They refuse to take American currency $100 or $50 bills. The overpriced subs for my family of three was $31. ( I donated $0.99 to round up to $31.00). I had $326 in my pocket but couldn't pay because they don't accept American cash. It is hard to donate to American firemen when they don't accept American currency. And firehouse wants to say they help firemen?? The owner gives the excuse of getting counterfeit bills. Maybe he should call the police? read more

Clean, courteous employees, and the subs were very good. Not the cheapest, and there's a whole days worth of sodium in one of their 'hook and ladder' subs, but they aren't short on flavor or quantity. I've found Firehouse subs to always be a safe bet. Down to 2 stars for charging me a freaking quarter for a pickle spear. You're already overpriced in the market, now you gonna charge me for a pickle? Yeah yeah I know, it's only 25¢, but It's a pet peeve of mine to get nickel and dimed for extras. read more

Ok I ate here a couple of months ago and was not impressed. I have issues with the pricing and quality of the food. $9.00+ for a medium sub with chips & drink. Not a good value. Also I'm not sure where their proteins come from but the sodium levels are out the wazoo! The staff are friendly but seem to be overreaching (maybe a corporate thing, but overall staff behaviors towards customers seems forced) I think the easiest way to sum up my review is mathematically: Subway greater than Firehouse Jimmy John's greater than Firehouse George's Carry-out greater than Firehouse. This is my second and last time ordering from here. My first visit was wonderful and the food was delicious. I visited on 08/10/2015 and it was sub par. I ordered a cheesesteak sub and a meatball sub. The meatball sub tasted good, but was more bread than anything and sub could've used a little more sauce. The cheesesteak sub was DISGUSTING. Meat was dry and bland, no mayo (I had requested mayo on it), and almost no cheese on it at all. You can't have a cheesesteak without cheese. . .I will not be back. read more

Went here today and both the food and service was AWESOME! I was expecting plain mediocre food like subway or jimmy johns but it was soo much better. I got the smokehouse brisket which was just perfect. They have a menu online and a menu by the front door you can take with you which most places don't so anymore. I LOVE This place, the food is amazing, I know some people think it is too expensive but honestly it's no more than what Subway would charge and it's soooooo much better than Subway and the food you get is sooooo much more. I have not been to a single Subway since we first tried Firehouse!
