I had missed lunch at a normal hour, passed by a Firehouse Subs just before entering the I-15 North freeway in Ontario, California, and got the hankering for a sub sandwich. The next one was here, so we decided to divert briefly from our route. My Medium Italian Sub with Pepperoni, Ham, Genoa Salami on a White Bread torpedo roll was good but not great. Only White, Wheat, and Gluten Free varieties were offered. My grinder contained tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cheese, oil & vinegar, and mustard but it did not taste very juicy. A Pickle slice was also included, but no Pepperoncini, which I would have liked to have. Neither Diane nor I liked a Cup of somewhat spicy Potato Soup but I did very much like a Cup of Chili. It contained few beans but produced a lot of heat. Ridged French Fries were tasty, as well. I liked the Firehouse accouterments like a firefighter's coat and Dalmatian spotted tables. The ordering on the app would not work, because the app erroneously said the location was "closed" even though it was during normal business hours. We called, and at first Elizabeth said she could not help with app issues, but then she said if we would come in anyway she would take care of us to match the deal in the app. Which we did, and SHE DID! In today's day-and-age, staff in-store generally are not able to help with app issues, and many companies do not allow their staff to help customers "around" app-related issues. Elizabeth took our problem, made it her own, and found a solution for us. And THAT needs to be recognized and praised! And the sandwiches, DELICIOUS!! read more

My first time trying firehouse subs and it was so amazing!!! It was unusual because it was the best customer service I've ever experienced from a food service business and the food was amazing as well. The lady that assisted me was so welcoming, pleasant, informative and super nice... she was so polite, as if it was how she is in and out of work... my food was sooo good, fresh and the portions were well worth the price... il definitely be back... I loved everything about it! I'm so sad I didn't get the lady's name tha assisted me but i went in on april 20th around 3/4 ish... I have never been to a Firehouse Sub before. I ordered a Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich and an Italian. The 8 inch subs are enough for a couple of meals each. However, these were not particularly generous with the meat portion size and more bread to filling ratio but acceptable. The Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich was served warm with slices of turkey breast, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo. It has more stuffing than meat but the ingredients went well together. The Italian had different kinds of cold cuts and provolone cheese served dressed with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I had some black olives put in as well. The lettuce could be fresher; it was already tired and the restaurant just opened for the day. Both sandwiches were just tasting okay, definitely strictly middle of the road average. First time trying this place out. Love the firefighters memorabilia and themed decor throughout the restaurant. The items displayed are usually from retired local firefighters/houses. It's almost like visiting a mini museum. Also a portion of each purchase goes to buy lifesaving equipment for first responders. We ordered the popular Hooks and Ladder sub along with a $3 bucket (because why not, it goes to a good cause and it's a pretty cool bucket). The sandwich was great! Plenty of ingredients and surprisingly tasty for a sandwich. I love that they have so many hot sauce options and are labeled by number of spice level. The staff was friendly and the place was clean for the most part. There are TVs inside and plenty of private lot parking. Cons: unfortunately there are homeless/vagrants in the area. The staff seemed distracted because of an earlier incident with one of these individuals, so they got part of my order wrong -no biggie, I understand. I would suggest for staff/ visitor safety to just be aware of your surroundings at all times. Also perhaps the restaurant should install code locks for the restrooms and a small door at the ordering counter space area to separate staff and customers (for staff safety) and to deter someone from just walking in behind the counter. Aside from the above, look forward to visiting again as i am curious to try some of the other sandwiches including the Thanksgiving sandwich I saw on display. read more

He handled the situation very well and apologized to everyone for having to wait for their subs a little bit longer than normal. Ordered 2 large and 1 regular sandwich ahead at 1:30 pm, for a 1:50 pm pickup on Sunday 5/25/25. I arrived at 1:50 pm and was told it would be a 10 minute wait, and that it was policy to begin making the sandwiches once you arrive for pickup. I think this defeats the entire purpose of ordering ahead but whatever, I wait. I ended up waiting 25 minutes in store to recieve 3 sandwiches. There were 2 other parties waiting at the same time and a walkup came in and ordered while I was waiting and got their order before me. No idea what the holdup is but I use the order ahead option so I avoid waiting. I'll think twice before ordering here again. Management should consider staffing more people to ensure a better customer experience. read more

It was our first time visiting this location. I love the firehouse/firefighter theme. The staff was friendly. We went in to get the free sub for my daughter's birthday. The entire process was more confusing and convoluted than it needed to be. For starters, the coupon was different from what the manager understood the birthday deal to be. Also, this company (on a corporate level) doesn't allow minors 15 and under to create their own rewards account. I had to create an account and add my daughter to my account with her birthday, etc... I found it unusual since many restaurants and establishments allow 15 year olds to create their own rewards account. Had it not been for the birthday/rewards account situation, I might have given the five stars. I'm a pescetarian so I don't eat meat. I do eat seafood, and fish. They do offer a tuna salad sub but I didn't see very many veggies or even vegan options. I would have ate a plant based meatball sub or something similar. We've been to this Firehouse Subs (FS) a few times. Just finally getting to this review... better late than never LOL. They have a variety of different subs and a majority of them are hot subs except for one or two which I don't remember their names. Anyway, we ordered the large Turkey Bacon Ranch with whatever it came with. It was about $12+ which was reasonable for the size and amount of ingredients in the sandwich. Tons of turkey which was a plus. You can get a side of pickle. The bread could have been toasted a bit more. We didn't care for the American cheese. Provolone cheese would have been better. Despite the latter, overall the sandwich was delicious. Staff was okay... not too smiley though. Prices were decent. Interior was a little messy... tables weren't wiped down. Nice wall art and firehouse stuff. We'll definitely be back here for more great sandwiches. It's either Firehouse Subs or Jersey Mike's. We don't do Subway anymore unless we really have to LOL. If you want to get argued with about what you ordered and what you received go here! I hear the young man working argue with a man about the change he received. Then when my food came it was incorrect. It was for my child or I would have just kept it. But when I went up the young man argued with me in circles about which sandwich was incorrect and then proceeded to argue I must have ordered it wrong. I specifically asked why he is arguing with me and asked him to correct the problem. Since I am the second person he argued with during our short time in here today, I would not be surprised if this was a normal thing. Firehouse Subs is too expensive to have poor service and argumentative workers. We love this place. Especially my son, every time we ask him what he wants to eat for lunch, he picks firehouse subs. This has become my favorite sandwich spot for a quick sub. They always keep it clean, and their customer service has always been great. Today, they let my son and I eat in the store even though it was past serving time, and they were going to close in 10 minutes. Usually the wife and daughter come with us, but it was boys' day out. First time going to firehouse subs and have to say I will never go back. Reviews on yelp were decent but what I should have done was gone to their website reviews a lot of bad reviews. Ordered a medium size sub and at least 3" on both end had no meat. Had I seen this before I got home I would have said something. Okay this was my first time coming here and I have to say I'm happy about this place. 1. The bread, I got the wheat bread and it is soft and not gummy or too thick. You can squeeze it. The white bread is a little thicker feeling than the wheat. I know I wanted to know about the bread first because it's hard to tell by picture without feeling or tasting it. I'd recommend the wheat. 2. It comes with a wrapped pickle in your sandwich box, so if your not a pickle person just know that you have to tell them to put the pickle out of the box or not at all if you don't like pickles.
