I want to start by saying if I could give zero stars I would..... I've always had great experiences with Bad Ass Coffee... especially at the Rancho Cucamonga location, where the staff consistently goes above and beyond. Because of that, I had high expectations for this Hesperia location. Unfortunately, this visit was farrrrr short. I ordered two drinks; one with whipped cream and one specifically without. When the drinks were prepared, the one that was supposed to include whipped cream didn't have it. At no point did any staff member mention they were out of whipped cream. When I asked about it at the counter, I was met with a dismissive response: "Oh, we're out of whipped cream for the day." There was no apology or effort to make it right. What made the situation more frustrating was overhearing staff offer alternative options (like cold foam alternative) to customers right after us due to the same issue. That option was never extended to us, which felt inconsistent and unfair. Additionally, the overall atmosphere was uncomfortable. The staff's behavior came across as oddly secretive and unwelcoming, especially when my sister and niece arrived. It felt like there were unnecessary comments and attitudes directed toward us, which made the experience even more unpleasant. I believe this location would benefit from additional training in customer services. Particularly around communication, consistency, and treating all customers with equal respect. At a minimum, situations like running out of an ingredient should be clearly communicated, along with an apology and an alternative option offered to every customer. It's extremely disappointing to see this level of service associated with a brand that I've otherwise held in high regard. read more

My boyfriend loves this place, but lately they've been terrible on their communication on information for their customers ... they're not very informative on their hours and it's very upsetting. We are not from the area and we travel 30-40mins to get here. Last time I looked up on yelp on their closing time and it says 8:00pm, I got here at 7:30 and they were closed. The hours on their window said closes at 8:00pm. Today I called to triple check that they're open and what is their closing time. The man on the phone said 7:00pm, I got here at 6:40pm and they're closed again. At least this time the window listed their hours are open until 6:00pm. It would've been nice if he had told me the correct time. It was a frustrating experience and when I went back the next week their attitude was so blasé. Such amazing coffee! Lots of great options and didnt expect it to taste so good! Our favorite was the seasonal banana bread chai, thick, yummy, great with oat milk. First time here at Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. What a fun biz name! Love the Bad Ass in Bad Ass LOL. I was hesitant to walk in here as I wasn't sure if they were open or not since no one appeared to be inside this coffee shop at the time. So glad I gave them a whirl. Great open space with lots of inside seating. They sell merchandise such as T-shirts and a few other knick knacks. I was tempted to buy one of their Bad Ass T-shirts, but they didn't have my size. Unisex sizes only. Maybe I'll catch them next time. Lady who took my order was pleasant. I ended up getting 3 drinks... one for moi and 2 for my daughters. Prices were very reasonable. 1. Bad Ass Mocha iced medium - very smooth and delightful! 2. Orange mango smoothie - unfortunately, this got watered down by the time we got to drinking it. Didn't get to experience it when it was in its prime state. Bummer! 3. Turtle Neck blended - very delicious! They have a couple other locations, too, that are down the hill. I would recommend this coffee place if you haven't tried them in the past. Just a fun fact... "The name is inspired by the "Bad Ass Ones," donkeys used to haul coffee beans down the steep mountains of Kona. I came here to try more coffee shops in the area since the high desert does not have many options in this category - coffee shops. I opted for their mango black tea. I personally really liked it. Was not too sweet, was not watery or too strong. Highly recommend if you are looking for a more refreshing and well balanced drink. I also had the everything bagel with cream cheese. I appreciate how they pair with an adequate amount of cream cheese. Although the bagel was nothing special. It was a little smaller than your typical bagel and it was a little hard after toasting- lacking a nice crunch and lacking a good amount of chew. Customer service was ok, I could tell the employee was tired or just did not want to be there and sometimes that makes or breaks the experience. One thing that did have a big impact on me was the music, it was so loud I could hear it through my AirPods on max volume. Listen, sometimes loud music is a vibe, but in this case- there were like 2 people in there at all times, reading or just passing by to get a drink. It was like people were avoiding staying to dine in. So as for overall vibes, was not even close to passing. The structure is uncomfortably set up, with too much space, weird lighting, and an awkwardly long walk from your seat to the bar. come here for drinks- sure, come here for vibes? - it might be in your best interest to skip read more

I absolutely love this place so much! I'm so happy I stopped by on my way down the hill this last weekend. Amazing coffee! Delicious and tasty! The staff were so sweet and friendly! I will definitely come back when I'm in the are again or passing through. The ambiance was so lovely. Really took me back to Hawaii and the 6 months I spent living out there while I worked on a Norwegian cruise ship. Kona and Kauai were my favorite islands but all of the islands were so beautiful and full of wonderful humans and rich Hawaiian history. The hawaiian vibe hits you as soon as you walk in and transports you back to kona...with a donkey twist. I got the caramel and vanilla wave and it was pretty good. The inside of this coffee shop is so beautiful and relaxing. There's plenty of seating and the ambiance is definitely giving Hawaii vibes. There was only one girl working so she was really putting her multitasking skills to use. I wanted the hazelnut hula but was told they were out of hazelnut (bummer). The young lady offered to substitute the hazelnut for macadamia nut so I agreed. I think my drink was around $7. They don't offer receipts so I don't really know. I'll add that while I was there, there was a very annoying couple there giving this young lady a hard time. They made her remake or adjust their order about 4 times while interrupting her taking the orders of others and she handled it very very well. She was composed and patient and continued to help them, even when they were being pretty rude towards her. So for that I think she deserves recognition. My drink was delicious and strong. The large iced drink was HUGE. I'm glad I gave it a try and hopefully next time I return, the hazelnut is back in stock. read more

This place uses to be a chain coffee place that was shut down and moved. It's night and day. Limited menu right now. But as they get a foothold I can only imagine this place doing very well. Not only the coffee. There's a baker here and they do good work. Very easy to get to and somewhere you should go out of your way to visit and make sure they stick around for the long run here. Disappointing Experience -- Closed Early Without Warning My mother and I were on vacation in Hesperia, CA, and decided to try something new on August 16th. We were excited to visit Bad Ass Coffee, especially since it was close to our hotel. We arrived around 6:00 PM, an hour before their posted closing time of 7:00 PM. However, right as we approached the door, an employee with long black hair was already locking up and didn't acknowledge us. Another person -- who didn't appear to work there -- told us the store was closing early. Two gentlemen had walked in right before us and came back out empty-handed as well. It was really disappointing since we were looking forward to trying this place on our trip. I completely understand if there are emergencies or staffing issues, but if a business plans to close early, it should be communicated -- either online or with a sign on the door. Otherwise, it feels misleading and frustrating for customers. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and we won't be considering this location next time we're in Hesperia. Hopefully, management takes this feedback into account and improves consistency around their hours. read more

It was my family's first time here also our last time here. We asked for recommendations. We didn't mind our drink. I asked what she suggested for my 8 year old daughter. And she suggested the matcha. I said I'm not sure my daughter's super picky with matcha. And she suggested it was sweet and good. And said we can add cold foam for extra sweetness. I agreed. My daughter took 2 sips and said she hated it. I went to tell her and she said unfortunately we can't change the drink we don't do that here. So I threw away a pricey drink that I just bought. And won't be returning. She was nice but I felt recommending something and I give a slight push back on the menu items and was reassured it was good and sweet. To it not being up to our satisfaction of something I paid for I should be able to get something else. read more

Where has this place been my whole life?! The best coffee menu I've seen with so many unique tasting lattes and great tasting beans! I am hooked! I ordered the seasonal strawberry shortcake latte with oat milk, which was amazing! Service was super friendly and gave me great recommendations based on what I said I liked. The servers are all so great and so friendly!! I invited my friends, families and my own dearest husband. They all said "WOWWWW!!" My sister who lives in LV, said, "This is a new tradition! Just asked the owner what the restroom code is then paused and responded by saying there's already someone in there and that you need the key. My 2 year old daughter and I waited outside.
