Nothing can compare to a Publix Supermarket fresh deli sandwich; however, on a long-distance road trip in the middle of west Texas where oil wells and tumbleweeds dot the landscape, this Firehouse Subs became an oasis in the desert. Two sandwiches ordered online (a pastrami with Swiss on white and a hook and ladder on wheat, both fully loaded) were ready and waiting when we zipped in to pick them up. Yum. Fresh, moist, tasty. We forfeited the quarter pickle slices that accompanied the subs as they were not plump but flat, perhaps by a heavy object sitting on top of them at some point. Don't know who needs to fix the issue, Firehouse or Yelp, yet before arriving in town via I-20, we clicked on this Firehouse Subs Yelp page and clicked on directions to the restaurant. The directions took us to a parking lot in the middle of downtown, 4+ miles from the actual Firehouse business. We had to call the restaurant back again, after we'd ordered our sandwiches, so they could direct us to our waiting lunch! Strange because another place on the page where you can click for directions will take you to the correct address on Highway 191. It's a mystery! read more

This location has gone down hill. Dining area was filthy, it looked like they had been making sandwiches out there instead of behind the counter.. There was lettuce, tomatoes, and other food scattered on the floor. Probably could've made 6 sandwiches out of it. Service was very slow. It seemed like the big red headed guy was the only one working, while the other 3 employees stood around and watched. Although the older Hispanic fella loved to shout "welcome to firehouse" anytime a door opened. Most disappointing thing was they forgot my pickle even after they asked me if I wanted one. this is the worst place in Odessa to eat! we was traveling through Odessa and stopped at the 42nd street location. The floor was nasty. The man working was so rude! his name was Joe or Joseph! one young lady was taking orders and this man literally yelled at her in front of us! The restroom was not clean. When living in Austin, I lived within walking distance of a firehouse. Didn't much care for it. Came back to Odessa for a while and decided to give it another shot. Well actually I've given it about 20 shots here and they've nailed it every time. Order is NEVER wrong, order on the app and it's ALWAYS on time and very very well made. I didn't dine in on this particular visit just carried out the order but the sub was rich in flavor. Add some Jalapeno kettle chips and sweet tea and I'm all set for lunch. The staff were friendly and paced the food orders well, I was in and out in about 7 minutes during the late lunch hour! i'm a big fan of sandwiches and i have nothing against firehouse subs. the other day i was babysitting and ordered a sandwich delivery. opened my sandwich and seen a hair . usually not a big deal i'll just pull it off if it's little and eat it . well the sub i got that day had a LONG hair in it . i wouldn't be writing this review but when i tried to take out the sandwich the hair was baked in with the cheese. i called and the person who answered made me give all my info for a refund then at the end didn't even know how to give a refund !! read more

This is the best place if you want a hot sub. I have lived in Denver for the past five years and was hitting this place up every chance I got. To be honest food wise this place was gonna be the one thing I missed about Denver. Then boom they opened one up in my hometown. Boy was I happy. I have about 5 different subs from here and each one is awesome. Plus the HUGE selection of hot sauces you can choose from makes it even better. I always go straight for the Semper Fi hot sauce and the meatball sub that combo can't be beat. If you want something really hot try the Mad Dog 357 hot sauce but be prepared for the burn!!!! read more

I usually order the tuna salad sandwich. The last few times I ordered the sandwich the tuna salad was overwhelmed with pepper. My granddaughter also loves the tuna salad ...
