My boyfriend and myself have been here several times and we have always had an amazing experience. The staff is always so polite to us and the food is amazing!! On one of our visits our order was wrong, we were given two Hero's instead of a Hero and a Club. However before I could realize what had happened the cashier was right at our table apologizing for the mistake, and not even 5 minutes later the person who was making the subs that night came to our table and apologized and made up for it! Was in Oshawa and tried this Firehouse Subs location (only my 2nd time ever at a Firehouse Subs restaurant) and was completely disgusted at the amount of fat they placed in my sub. Ordered the 'brisket' and it was approximately 80% fat. There was so much fat, in fact, that at first it was difficult to tell if it was fat or sautéed onions, but nope it was beef fat. Revolting. I threw the whole thing out and went to the panera restaurant beside it. I won't even mention the price because it was high. Check under your bun before you bite into your expensive sub. read more

Incredible subs. Great menu. Great service. The only downside is the price. My wife and I went there for lunch and it was over $30 for 2 subs and a drink. As such, this is more of a treat than a regular place to get lunch. I highly recommend it, just be prepared for the bill read more

It was my first time trying Firehouse and I love it honestly, the staff was so nice and explained everything to me and gave me some good recommendations. I ended up having the hook and ladder, I liked it. The bread is amazing and go much fresher than most breads you get at your typical fast sub shop. It's also a lot more filling and I like that's it's actual thick meat you can see with your own eyes and not thin processed meat. My wife and I just had a Firehouse Meatball. She ordered the medium and I ordered the large. The large was quite filling, I would say that the medium would probably be sufficient. The Meatball is your choice of classic or sweet & spicy sauce over Italian meatballs with provolone cheese and Italian spices. They were nice and hot when served and very tasty. The staff was friendly and greeted 90% of the customers who came in. The space itself was clean with a firehouse like decor. The pictures of the local fire department from yesteryear were a nice touch. Last but not least the fountain drinks are delivered via Coke freestyle , if you have yet to experience these machines they are very cool but with endless combinations to be created through the touch screen, you may find yourself standing in line for the one machine. I love firehouse and I also use to work at firehouse as Shift leader , unfortunately this firehouse isnt one of the best . I did not receive a 10 12 welcome to firehouse until I got to the cashier, The cashier was on her phone well I was ordering , I ordered 3 subs and waiting at least 5+ mins which I think is unacceptable, not only was the shift manager present but did no one was wearing name tags , or aprons .alot of standards are not being met . The worst thing well I'm waiting for my subs 2 staff members and the shift leader were having a conversation about how management "watches the camera " how is it's not fair and bad mouthing . Right in front of me and two others . One staff came from the back with NO MASK! In my opinion this has to be the worst experience at firehouse for a form employee (shift leader) unfortunately the staff does not make you feel welcome. They have a great round up program where they round your bill and donate the extra cents to firefighters (they ask you first it's not automatic). I highly recommend this place! On my first visit the staff were telling me they slice their meat in store, you can really taste a big difference in their meat compared to other chains. I always get the Hook & Ladder sub. So delicious. If hot sauce is your thing, they've got a huge selection to choose from and add to your sub. Their brownies are also very tasty! Best subs ever. Glad they are finally expanding into Canada, albeit fairly slowly. We make a point of going to any Firehouse Subs we can find when we travel in the US. This location is exactly the same (minus real brewed unsweetened iced tea- something widely available at US fast food restaurants). Hook & Ladder is just as awesome here as down South. I live in Toronto, so have only been to this location twice, as it isn't convenient to me. Superbly friendly staff, brisket sandwich is amazing, so good in fact I seriously contemplated buying another, if it wouldn't have been gluttonous. I'm kind of wishing it were tomorrow so I can have that sandwich again for lunch. Possibly in my top ten sandwich list. I added on onions and mushrooms too, I'd recommend as it added a depth of flavour to the sandwich that put it in the stratosphere! On nom nom, I'm hooked! The coke dream machine was super cool, you can literally dream up whatever flavour of pop and it delivers! Did I mention the staff are friendly? Have never heard of Firehouse Subs until I was at Cosco yesterday. It was super busy but there was a lot of staff to keep people seated and subs flying out of the kitchen. The owners are very hands on and helpful. I had the steak, my friend the brisket. Food was fantastic and pop machine has 115 flavours. We both had the medium and were still hungry when we finished. Portions are on the small size. Perhaps next time will try the large. read more
