"A burst of flavour in every bite" it says, that is true! Another wow goes to Croquette. Savory meat stuffing (chicken and pork) was rolled in a soft crepe, breaded and fried. Layers of textures (crispy, chewy and tender) to enjoy. Nice aroma. It is going to make a perfect comfort food!!!!!! Perogies are good as well, chewy soft wrapper. I liked mushroom and sauerkraut one. The mushroom neutralised the tangy-ness of sauerkraut to hit the perfect balance of the two. Although I wanted more fillings overall in terms of wrapper & stuffing balance/ratio, the flavour was really good. Wieners were another impressive one. It looks like an ordinary wiener, and I thought it was a bit pricey compared to other places. But when I cooked it I knew why. Delicate! The case was very very thin, I heard high pitched "crisp" when I bit into it. The meat was smooth and juicy, seasoned with a hint of herb-y aroma, which made this wiener stand out from others. Near the casher, there was a sampling dish for sourdough bread. They told me it is freshly baked by a local, independent baker. It was delicious, the best sour bread that I have had in Durham region so far. I did not buy it this time as I still have sour bread at home, but I will definitely purchase next time. They have many locally-made selected food items on the shelves. From today's experience made me want to check their cold cuts next time. Although the variety was small, each item may be carefully selected one. Very happy to find this place!!

Firehouse Subs is nothing special. The steak is frozen and package as well as their meatballs. At this location I know they use a microwave to heat the meatballs up before they are served. The lettuce comes packaged just like subway and the "sautéed" onions and green peppers aren't sautéed but microwaved and mixed with a au jus gravy mix. The mushrooms are packaged also. Kinda like canned mushroom except from a bag. The subs are plain overpriced and overrated. Not worth the price you pay. read more

There is no way you can find a better sub than this in Canada - the best BY FAR! The meat is freshly sliced, and the subs are put through a steamer. Super fresh!! They give you lots of meat and totally make it worth the price you pay. The restaurant is also super cool, with real firefighter equipment! My favourite subs are the brisket, and the Hook & Ladder. If you try these subs you will not be disappointed, and now I can't eat at any other sub place! read more

The subs are amazing. The staff are so friendly. Loved ordering at the counter, sitting down and someone delivered the food. Then they checked on us to make sure we were ok. Not your typical sub shop or restaurant. Loved the firefighter gear and pictures displayed as well, heard they were donated by the local fire department. Cool spot, highly recommend. read more

FireHouse subs is the #1 place to go if you're looking for a good quality sandwich. the meat is is steamed perfectly, the sauces melt in your mouth, and the bread is to die for, the workers there are always friendly and make sure you are having the most comfortable time at their restaurant. read more

The meat was flavorful and tender. Mayo and bbq sauces were quite tasty. Toppings like lettuce, cucumber cubes, caramelized onions all tasted fresh. Surprisingly very messy - possibly because of all the melted cheese and sauce. Meatball sub - delicious, tender and flavorful meatballs in a marinara sauce on the sub. As before vegetables were fresh and the bread is soft yet holds up against all the filling. French fries - surprisingly really good. It's a vertical crinkle cut so the ridges are vertical to give it more crispiness. The sauce is great with the French fries! Price: Definitely on the more expensive side of things when it comes to subs but quality and taste are really high. Also feels like the sandwich is pretty big for a medium so definitely getting value overall.

Even though the location at the Promenade Mall exceeds this horrible location by 100 times. I came here to this location in York Mills Rd expecting a decent sub and some decent service. That's not expecting much But On this occasion, I entered and the one Indian lady about 20 something years old immediately put me off. She took my order rather curtly and asked my name forcefully. I mean I am the only customer in there. I waited my 4-5 minutes paying no mind. Then She proceeded to just plop my sandwich on the counter and literally screamed my name and then walked to the back. I'm sorry but this order is for take out I said can I have a bag. She saids she doesn't have big bags with handles. This is not my first rodeo here and she plops a small sandwich bag on the counter with absolutely no customer service like bagging it for me and then walks off again. That's when I see a uber order with a said bag with handle sitting there I mean, I like their sandwiches but service and a remotely polite service is important too. I definitely strongly recommend to stay away from this location. And I am debating on going to any location again as this represents not only their name and location but the franchise reputation as a whole.

The quality is there, and they don't skimp on fillings/toppings. I ordered takeout through the app so I could get a deal - there are lots of coupons within the app. My order was ready for pick up at the requested time. They have a hot sauce bar in the shop - about 20 different hot sauces to try, I ordered 3 subs - they each come with a tasty pickle spear. Here they are in order of preference: - New York steamer was the winner. It was piled high with corned beef brisket and pastrami and worked well with the mustard and mayonnaise (maybe a touch less mayo next time for me). Note that if you're used to eating low sodium meals, you'll find this on the high end of acceptable saltiness. - Pepperoni pizza meatball. The meatballs were decent quality as well, not mushy, though hard to eat for a little kid as a whole meatball would come out with each bite. The pepperoni is a bit spicy so some people might be sensitive to that. I would have liked more marinara sauce but that is a personal preference. - Italian. It was overwhelmingly sweet, mostly from the honey ham. Once I took out the majority of the ham, the flavours were much better balanced, though then I could taste that the bread itself was a little sweet. This one isn't good as a leftover due to the wet toppings in it (tomato and lettuce). Overall, I'm happy with this experience and would definitely add come back.

For the hot subs, the meat was sooooo soft and easy to swallow. I had a bite of my friends' subs and they were all super delicious. The chicken in the captains club was so juicy. The beef in the smokehouse sub was melt in the mouth. The bread on all subs was toasted. They also have one of those nice machines w/ tons of different soda options to choose from (peach mello yellow zero SUPER UNDERRATED). Shoutout to Donte who helped me with my order as a first-timer to this store! Love that I was able to stack a bunch of extra add-ons for no additional charge. Also loved that every sub came w/ a dill pickle on the side (the pickles were delicious too). I was tempted to upgrade my bun to garlic bread but that'll be for another visit. In terms of price, it is premiumly priced at around $20-25 per sub which is expensive tbh. Does the quality justify that price tag? I would actually have to say yea it does! You are probably asking, "But, Mary. You have food photos from Subway. You don't do delivery. How is that possible?" Two words: my dad. I am far from being a Subway regular. I am more a fan of Mr Sub, Quiznos, and Jersey Mike's. Yesterday, my dad was at Subway to grab lunch for himself and my mom, and decided to get me some food, too. He dropped it off at my door. So, technically, he was my surprise delivery person with a surprise lunch. I had to frankly guess what he got me. I am guessing that it was steak and cheese. The steak was chopped up, so it wouldn't have been roast beef that would likely be slices. Then again, I hadn't been to Subway for over a decade, so things could have changed. I also tasted mozzarella cheese. I felt like I was doing a blind tasting. I am happy to report that I didn't get olives in my sub. My dad used to ask for olives and they are not my thing. I used to pick them out, but I got so sick of seeing so many of them that I'd simply say no to the whole thing. The sub was good. It was on multi-grain bread. Since I ate it practically immediately after he brought it to me, it was yummy and was still warm. The veggies (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes) were fresh and yummy. I wish that there were more of them to supply more of a crunch, such as green peppers and cucumbers. My dad isn't a veggie lover and it was reflected in my sandwich. I really can't complain. It was a nice, thoughtful gesture. More importantly, it was free food... haha! He also got me a chocolate chip cookie. Yesterday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie (I don't know who comes up with these days, but I'll take it) and it was as if my dad knew that I needed a cookie. I loved it. It was crispy and chewy. I was pleasantly surprised at how decent the food was. Maybe I'll need to finally drop by this store and check out their salads. I'd also get a cookie. There are 80+ locations across Canada, with this location being the latest to open. Their meat are steam infused with flavour. They use an air-tight steamer. The steam releases the flavour and reinfuses it back into the meat. I ordered the 6ix Sub (medium $12.49) because it is uniquely offered at this location only. It was extremely delicious! 6ix Sub has honey ham, smoked turkey, Genoa salami, provolone cheese, and cheddar cheese. They also give you a long slice of pickle on the side. I also ordered a pop (medium.$3.09). They give you a cup and you use a self-serve freestyle pop machine that has 200-300 flavours. The customer service is excellent. There is adequate indoor seating. They will bring you order to your table. My Sub took them 5 mins to prepare. You can donate money (directly or via rounding up) to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada charity, found in 2015. If you donate $3.00, you get an empty, recycled pickle bucket. The foundation will give a grant to fire or police dept, twice a year. They donate lifesaving equipment, prevention education tools, scholarships and continued education fir public safety officers, and natural disaster support. They soft-opened on 2024-10-17. There is no predetermined date for the grand opening yet There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. I became a fan. At that point, few sub chains toasted their bread. Scrubway (Jennifer P. needs to copyright it, as I use it all the time now) didn't do it. Neither did Mr Sub. When I moved back to the GTA, there were a few Quiznos stores nearby. One was where my local Scrubway is, roughly five minutes away. The other one was closer to my workplace at the time, at McCowan and Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough. Both are long gone. Frankly, the only Quiznos that I dropped by recently was on Bay Street, a few blocks away from Scotiabank Arena. I'd go there for a quick bite before a concert. The other evening, I was driving from Canadian Tire to Song Tea along Woodbine Avenue. My head turned when I saw the Quiznos sign to my left. Where have I been and why hadn't I ever noticed this sign? I kept thinking about it. I decided to fetch dinner here last Saturday. After getting my bubble tea, I drove over to this eatery. This Quiznos is in a plaza, a couple of doors down from Mi Ne Sushi, a place that I frequented perhaps eight years ago or so. I found a parking spot halfway down the row of parked cars and backed into it. I walked in and got a woman who said hi. She was busy preparing an order. I saw her fill a container with soup. You can dine in. However, tables and seating are limited. Once she was finished with that order, she focused solely on me. My usual subs are the black angus steak and mesquite chicken. I deviated from both when I saw the beef and swiss melt. I got a foot-long on rosemary parmesan bread. She asked me whether I was good with mushrooms. Yes, said the mushroom freak. Oh, how I have missed being at a Quiznos. I like seeing my sandwich go through the toasting conveyor and come out looking all yummy. I paid with a credit card. This place only accepts credit and debit cards. She wrapped up my sub and handed it over in a bag. I thanked her and left happy with sub in hand. My car smelled so good as I drove home. The only reason I didn't devour my sub was because it was in the backseat and I couldn't reach it while driving. It's a good strategy if you don't have any willpower. I had my sub when I got home. I devoured the whole thing. I normally do an 8" sub, but I was hungry. I'm so glad I went big. The sub looked narrower than I recall. Then again, I have had Jersey Mike's Subs these days that they look gigantic compared to any sub out there. I loved the beef and swiss melt. The beef was tender, juicy, and yummy. The swiss cheese was the perfect amount and was melty delicious. The mushrooms were yummy although this mushroom fanatic would have enjoyed more of them. The bread was excellent toasted. Yum all around! I'm so glad that I found this Quiznos. I was the only customer in the store and I suspect that it does quiet business with all restaurants around it. I started ordering the mayo "light" because they can get heavy handed. Would be great if the fries were always hot, and they should look into alternative straws because the paper ones get soggy super fast. Plenty of parking in this plaza, but the entrance off of Birchmount is quite a tight and hairy turn.

All three businesses are popular, as residents in these buildings drop by them often. It's a short walk over. After I took in the first PWHL (Professional Women's Hockey League) playoff game between Toronto and Minnesota, I was heading home and needed a bite to eat. I remembered this BK and decided to drop by. The drive-thru at this BK is open till 2 am. It was perfect for my needs, as I hit the drive-thru at roughly 11 pm on a Wednesday night. I got a friendly, polite man speaking to me at the drive-thru. It was still Whopper Wednesday, so I got the Whopper combo with fries and a Diet Coke. He let me know how much it was and I headed over to the window to pay. He was such a nice, professional person. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. It took little time for my food and drink to be handed to me. I thanked him and left. I ended up parking by the Timmy's next door. This Timmy's was packed with folks enjoying themselves inside the joint. Luckily, I was chowing down in the comfort of my car. My Whopper was yummy. I liked how fresh the tomato and lettuce were. I got a generous number of pickle slices. The flame-broiled beef patty was yummy. The bun was great. The fries were yummy. They were crispy and hot, with the right amount of salt. I loved my Diet Coke. It was cold and hit the spot. I continued to drink it driving home after I was done eating. It was nice to return to this Burger King for food. I don't know whether the interior has changed since I last dined in. Perhaps I'll do that next time when it's open. (207)
