I got food poisoning from the cajun chicken sandwich, which I knew I should have stuck with a meatball sub. It was a rough night. The cookie and fries were delicious, however. I walked in and was the only one in the lobby and it took 5-6 minutes for the two workers in the back to come to the front to take my order. It then took another 10 minutes to make my sandwich. The sandwich was SUPER tiny for the price. I would have ordered a medium had I realized how small it was, but also was surprised how small it was for the cost. We as a family like Firehouse subs, but this store is something special. Besides getting our order wrong or a missing sandwich this store has issues with their employees. One time they gave my family order to a Uber and didn't realize it or don't care, but they told us to come the next day to get a free order and they didn't have proof to give the next shift. Today my wife and daughter went to place an order and the staff were having a meeting and it turned out violent even the cops had to be called. I have been about 5 times to this location. the food is fine, standard for any firehouse subs all orders placed on their website. every order has been missing atleast one item, usually an extra pickle or an added amount ingredient on a sandwich most recently twice my wife and I have received wntire sandwiches that were completely wrong or missing all extra added ingredients calling the store and they say that they can't do refunds except if you come back. will not be eating here again. I came in close to closing to get a sub, wonderful service but I only saw one worker actively cleaning, which she then had to stop to help. Lobby was gross, and what I assumed was the manager was sitting on the side closest to the parking lot smoking. am writing to formally share my disappointment with the experience I had at your pineville Matthews location, on July 1, 2025 at 2:45 PM. I ordered a cheesesteak sub and requested that it be toasted. Unfortunately, what I received was sloppy, falling apart, and missing the deli mustard I specifically asked for. The bread was soggy and completely came apart as I tried to eat it. While Tessica was courteous as she rang me up, the gentleman who prepared my sandwich a white man with a short gray and black beard seemed completely disinterested in preparing my food correctly. He knew the sandwich was made improperly but served it to me anyway. There was no care, attention, or passion in his work, and it showed in the final product. This was my second time visiting this location, and after this experience, it will be my last. It is unacceptable to spend nearly $20 on a combo meal only to receive poorly prepared food and dismissive service. I am sharing this feedback in hopes it will be addressed with your team. I order on 12/11/25 my food 3 subs one mid size club sub and one small one also, another mid size firehouse hero sub. Instead i ended with one small fries and a mid size different sub that i do not know what it was and one mid size club . My order was completle wrong. Try to call then back no answer at all tried, over 10 time nobody pick up the phone . . The place was not even that busy to mess up the order . I do not understand how nobody pick up the phone when you call the pinevile location. That was even more frustrating ,not to be able to call to let them know that my order was wrong. I threw out my food since it was wrong, was long day at work and even to tired to drive back to complain. So i doung it by this review. This is an addendum to my previous review of this place. It was based on just entering and ordering. Finally got sandwiches after 25 minutes......the bread was cold and hard! Somehow they'd managed to heat up the meat but not the bread! I thought sandwiches here were steamed....not these. Horrible employees! One guy , two girls running the show. None of the three should be employed after today, they were that bad. They Told one group of three ladies it would be 30 minutes or more before they'd get any food. They walked out. I stopped in this particular Firehouse Subs restaurant for three reasons: 1) I was hungry after massaging a few longtime athlete-clients of mine. 2) I haven't enjoyed a good submarine sandwich from Firehouse in YEARS! 3) It was completely empty of patrons upon my arrival so no need to be concerned about social-distancing. The service was short and sweet (as fast food service should be), and the spicy Cajun chicken sub that I ordered was perfection! My only concern was why only ONE employee wore no face-mask as she prepared orders! The other employees (which you'll see in my photos) were happily wearing theirs... so why have the one employee NOT wearing a face mask (or hair net) to be the one staffed at fixing food for customers. Naturally, I strongly requested an employee gracious enough to practice safety procedures by wearing their face mask and latex gloves to prepare my meal, which wasn't at all made out to be a problem or issue per se. I'm just saying....management might want to talk to this one employee refusing to practice the necessary precautions when handling (while breathing/talking over) people's grub. read more

I have always been a fan of Firehouse Subs and when the closest location to me closed I was sorely disappointed. Needless to say that doesn't deter from hitting them up when I am out and about or through GrubHub. With my house packed up for a move in a few days, I ordered lunch through GrubHub today and was so impressed. My ordered was completely correct and arrived hot and fresh! I love the bread and how every bite just tastes so good. Today I ordered a turkey sandwich, double meat (because why not) with lettuce, onions and mayo. So, double meat, I think I got triple, amazing, and I actually only could eat one half for lunch because it was so much. I know anytime I spot a Firehouse Subs at lunch I will be happy and hit them up! If you haven't tried them out, run, and I mean run, so good! read more

Time for an update! It's been 4 years since I've done one. I placed an online order for some food to go. I ordered two medium subs. Ordering was a breeze. I picked up our food when they said it would be ready. When I walked in I immediately got greeted. I found my food in the pick up spot and it was easy breezy! While I was walking away, they told me bye. They were very friendly. Our subs were great. Good size and great meat and topping portion. The pickles are always good too! read more

Very impressed by the great customer service and friendly vibe. Food was made quickly and tasted great.

I know I gave this location a lot of flak in the past but they've absolutely turned a new leaf. Must be new management or something but the service is a complete 180 degree turn around. Everyone there now is friendly and detail oriented. Excellent service now to go along with their great food. Every time I go in now in 2019 it's bustling and packed, whereas whenever I tried this location in the past it was a ghost town. Never had an issue with my order and I've ordered here at least 5 times this year, and my orders are picky and annoying so cheers to them for getting it right. Seriously props to whoever turned around this Firehouse Subs location because it's now imo the best spot to pick up a quality sub for a good price around Pineville. I decided to get food elsewhere and just stopped in this Firehouse Subs for a fountain drink. I've been in here before for a fountain drink and it took all of 2 minutes. I get to the counter to order and I'm the only person in line. The woman running the register was making a sandwich so I just assumed she would say something along the lines of "be with you in just a moment". I work in retail management so I understand that sometimes you have to multitask so I just stood there patiently waiting for her to address me. She finishes making the 1st sandwich then proceeds to make another one. This entire time she is silent and doesn't make eye contact. 6 or 7 minutes pass by before another employee helping a customer with his to go order says "she'll be with you in just a minute". 3 more minutes pass and at this point it's just awkward. She's still making sandwiches not saying a word. A few more minutes pass before a third teenage employee comes to the register to take my order. I say "I just wanted a drink" and he hands me a cup without having to pay for it. I could tell this third employee felt bad I waited so long for a cup. I'm not sure if the female employee had a bad day or something but a little customer service goes a long way. Standing in front of customers and ignoring them isn't the way to go. read more

I never much cared for Firehouse in the past. But, they are quickly becoming a top contender on my list of sub creators. This location recently reopened after a short remodeling stint which has, as a result, increased in square footage allowing for more tables and chairs. The ladies are very pleasant towards customers, which is much appreciated and hard to find in todays society. The service is quite fast even during the super busy lunch phase. That's a plus when most of us need to travel to/fro and eat all within an hours time. Along with that fast service comes fresh delicious sandwiches. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. You'll enjoy it. Although not a fan, this is location is equipped with the futuristic Coke Freestyle beverage contraption. read more
