I ordered the 1/2 dark chicken plate with yellow rice and chicken soup. The chicken soup is the only thing I wished it had a little bit more flavor but it was all good. The beef empanadas were VERY good (fyi if you go on Tuesdays, I believe they are $1) . I also grabbed their mango juice, and it tasted fresh, natural, and authentic -- definitely a highlight. Me and my family's first time here. It was pretty good. We got the whole chicken family dinner with 3 sides. We got yellow rice, black beans and sweet plantain. we also got mango juice and passionfruit juice which both were good, Just a little to water down. I do wish the sweet plantains were fried a little longer and the rice portion was bigger for a family meal and the amount of beans provided. But other than that it was a good lunch. I've ordered here a couple times and usually get the Dorian wrap or bowl. It usually always consistent in taste. Last night I got a bowl and saved it for today. It worked out perfectly. The avocado slices stayed green overnight. Just take off the top half and heat up the cheese, meat as well as rice. It usually not so busy but they do take Uber/online orders. I went to this place to order togo for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and it was a nice experience. It wasn't too busy and the service was pleasant. I got the side combo ( I believe that's what it was) I got rice w/veggies, black beans, broccoli with 3 chicken empanadas on the side. It all totaled around $15 which was pretty good to me. The beans and rice were so flavorful, the broccoli not so much, but the empanadas were so fresh and filling. The only place that edges them out in flavor is Pollo Campero. I ordered the half chicken meal, mixed dark and white meat. It came with two small sides so I went with black beans and yellow rice, plus I got a separate mac and cheese for my nephew. The rice was fluffy and the beans were superb in flavor. I spooned some over my rice which nicely soaked up the sauce from the beans. I tasted some of his mac and cheese; it was pretty good. Not baked, but still very cheese-saucy. For smalls, all three sides can actually serve two people each. I really enjoy Hello Chicken whenever I come back to Charlotte.
