I'm very surprised at the low rating this place has! I've always liked FH subs and this location is no exception. The place is very clean, staff is responsive and friendly, and the food is consistently good. They are a bit pricey but patrons know that going in. Good subs aren't cheap and cheap subs aren't good! Came in at 7:30 and they acted like they were closing up the place even though they don't close till 9. The two girls working were too busy sweeping the floors to take my order. Once the one girl came to the check out counter she stayed on her phone while I stood there waiting for her to finish texting like I was inconveniencing her. The food is pretty good and the lobby was very clean when I went in. The cashier was very nice and handsome. When I asked about how the drink machine worked, he was very nice about it. I was never a big Firehouse sub fan until coming to the Spring Hill location for lunch. I ordered online for pick up. It was ready and fresh when I arrived and the staff here was super nice , friendly and cheerful. I went back a few days later for lunch and found that it was just as I remembered. Fuck this rude staff. As I walked in to place my order I was greeted with a hostile staff berating me for parking in the curbside pick up parking spot. I was not parked anywhere near these designated spots, in fact I was parked closer to Buffalo Wild Wings than Firehouse. After defending myself and my choice of parking, I was finally allowed to make an order. The ice machine was out of ice, so warm team it is, then when it was time to grab my food, they went back me again defending their stance about the parking spot. I'm a fan of this company and their food, however the staff is garbage. All 3 of them working today. We eat here very often. The last few times have been very discouraging, the staff is never friendly, they are always goofing around. It feels like we are a problem for wanting a sub. My son went there to get 6 sandwich's. Was told on a Sunday afternoon they were out of meatballs so we're unable to make the meatball sandwich. After placing the order for different sandwich's the staff got all that order wrong. The manager on duty was yelling at another staff member who had headphones on and was not listening to her at all. I called The next day and spoke to Karen (store manager) who told me she could make the sandwich's again. I asked her for a refund or a partial refund and she said she would talk to the owner and get back to me. Ok so now it's 2 weeks later I called her as they never called me. FIRST AND LAST TIME visiting this Firehouse Sub. From the time I ordered until I received my food 30 MINUTES and they weren't busy. There was one family already eating and me. They couldn't have had any online or call in orders before me because they were just standing around when I walked in. Then several people came in behind me, ordered their food and they got their food within several minutes. That is unsatisfactory. HMMMM WHAT WAS DIFFERENT? They only put some pep in their step and actually jumped on making my order when I went up to the counter and stood right in front of them. Then when I get home the switched the bread. First of all, any place of business that honors under appreciated services (Police, Fire, Nurses) has my vote of confidence and appreciation. With that being said, the sandwich market is over saturated with chains from Subway, Quiznos, Blimpies, Jersey Mikes, etc., it's hard enough to create a restaurant out of thin air and even harder when there's so many established chains. Firehouse Subs receives mixed reviews for their subs, either "too sweet" or "the mix of seasoning doesn't mesh well". Every person is different, and their style matches mine perfectly. Trying (3) different types of subs (Steak & Cheese, Club on a Sub, and Firehouse Hero) all have met and exceeded my expectations. Each bite tastes the same as the first, the meat is stacked to the brim and the vegetables are there but you're talking to a red meat bravado. I am truly impressed with the Steak and Cheese, I've had the hardest time finding a steak sandwich since moving to Tennessee and have only relied on Steak & Shakes Philly Burger, or O'Charleys take on a steak sandwich that's only found in a Mall. The Club on a Sub is the best Club I've had since Rafferty's and the Hero is a taste all on its own. So why not 5 stars? I've bragged on these subs so much yet it's a four star place? It all comes down to the price. Most people are turned away when $43.89 churns out on the receipt (four subs, no sides). Pricing plays a part if you're feeding famished adults or teenagers going through a growth spurt. Then there's the lack of sides, or any sides really. A small bag of chips does not count as a side, I consider the pickle spear (included with each sub) as a welcomed side but I'd like to see some variety in these sub shops, especially Firehouse Subs. All in all, I give my seal of approval. If you're tired of the same cold subs that are lightly toasted to become hot subs, or if you want a very different taste, stop on by and support your Firefighters. read more

The reason we will no longer go to this Firehouse Subs is because they should be putting some of their money into basic education to teach their employees basic language comprehension and reading skills. So, I phone in an Order for a large Philly cheesesteak sub. I specified that the sub should not have any mushrooms, but should have extra onion and extra bell pepper. This was a late dinner I was picking up for my wife, and I was in such a hurry that I didn't check the product. That was my mistake. I should know by now, that the chances are excellent that these fast food joints are going to screw up your order a good portion of the time. And of course they did. So I get home, my wife opened her meal and there are the mushrooms I specifically requested be omitted, and no additional bell pepper or onion. Been a long day, I'm tired, now very irritated that they can't get something that simple done correctly. So I called to complain and speak with the manager. She says she will have the owner call me the next day, which they did. I just received a message telling me that they would be happy to send me a free medium sized sub to replace my large sized sub that they screwed up. Thank you so much for offering a lesser product than what I purchased to compensate me for the one that you screwed up. By the way, if you're not aware folks, a large sub is over $11. For a sandwich. $11.00. I have grown so tired of the mediocre service and mediocre food that is shoveled out by teenage kids in these fast food joints. Great place to eat if you're in a hurry or if you have kids! Its not quite fast-food, but its somewhere between that and restaurant quality. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I came in around 3:45 and after I walked in a young man yelled "Welcome to Firehouse"and asked me if i had any questions about the menu. He had wonderful coustomer service and was extremly polite. He even had a conversation with me while he was making my food. I know this doesn't seem like much, but he made my day. I wish I could remember his name to call and complement.
