Ordered 5 toasted Hook & Ladder subs. What I received were 5 untoasted sub rolls with only ham and lettuce w/ a side pickle spear. No other meat, toppings, cheese, nor mayo/mustard. I just spoke to a gentleman who was extremely friendly and helpful even though it's close to closing and they seemed busy. I wish I got his name so I could tip next time I'm in there. But hopefully the owner or GM sees this and can respond or at least give him the credit he deserves. Service industry is the hardest job for the least amount of pay and absolutely no appreciate or gratitude, in fact it gets more critical and self centered, people who can be cruel and take the idea of customer is always right to the extreme and vent all there frustrations out on employees as if they are there for entitled people to use as pinching bags. No appreciation from customers and management. Underpaid and overworked. I hope this is not the case for this store but if it is I hope the gentleman gets some kind of recognition. Often called or speaking in person outside of ordering an employee might not be overly helpful or even nice in tone because they're only human and are being verbally beaten on the best of days. I'll never understand why we pay those who the hardest the least. But I called around 8:15pm and I imagine he was working by himself or with one other as it is close to close and despite this and my request he was extremely helpful and granted my request. IDK why they don't let you add or put things on side on app. Most don't, probably because people get ridiculous and try to get free things. But if anyone from this store sees this and can mention his name I would like to know so I may tip him later in the week. I have ordered and enjoyed subs from here many times, but today's experience was awful. To get a deal, I had to order via the app. Big mistake because the gluten-free option on the app gives a white bread sub. As a celiac, I can not eat anything with wheat, which is the main reason Firehouse is a go-to for me, as the GF option is fabulous. So, when I asked to exchange it for a GF sub, was told I had to contact support via the app that didn't work the first time. No offer to make a new sub or do anything to fix the problem. Left and will never return to this location at lunch. And the app is also a no-go from now on. read more

4 stars for the delicious food and friendly service. I love the Hook n Ladder so much that I rarely try anything else. Though the engineer is a tasty sub too. Always hot and melty cheese...yum! Their selection of hot sauces is awesome and the house hot sauce is really great. Add in the fact that they have a CocaCola freestyle machine and this place is in a different league than Subway. We were in there about 6:30 PM on Friday 8/27. I remember Firehouse employees used to shout "welcome to Firehouse" when you walk in. Ok they don't do that any more, it was neat, but not necessary. But now we don't even get "be with you in a minute" or something like that. They just keep working and talking to each other while you wait at the counter. Then they proceeded to mess up my wife's sandwich, including things she specifically asked them to exclude. On top of that they sold us fountain drinks not telling us there was a service person working in their drink dispenser. My wife wanted soda and had to settle for tea because they didn't say anything. I appreciate the fact that they're working at a time when many aren't working, but the appreciation has to go both ways. We always tip, we expect good service in return. read more

Ordered online for pickup. When I arrived the lady behind the counter was wearing a mask but it was hanging from one ear leaving her mouth and nose unconverd. I arrived at the time the order was due. It had not even been started yet and I was told it would take about 15 min. The whole ideal of order ahead online, especially now is to not have to wait in the store. This Firehouse has fast service and great food. I order the meatball sub (pictured). The meatballs are large and homemade tasting. It is smothered in spices and cheese and then baked for perfection. I recommend getting a fountain soda as well. They have the soda machines that have hundreds of choices. There are about 20 soda brands to choose from (Coke, Diet Coke, Mellow Yellow, Dasani, Minute Maid Lemonade, Sprite, etc). Then you can add different flavors to the main soda choice. We went tonight for 2 subs. Time in 9:17pm walking out at 9:37pm. This location was being run by teenagers. I know understand why their is a sign on the front door... help Wanted... next issue that came up was 5 teenagers getting out of 1 car heading inside firehouse. I am watching this in the parking spot in front of their business. Then I am noticing as the wife is pacing from the front of the store to the back and looking at me thru the stores front doors the group of 5 are sitting at their table all eating their subs. Went inside and this point and told the wife to get a credit card refund, employee blaming their steamer was not working. Wife makes it out after 20 minutes, the employee was having a regular conversation with the 5 friends. I guess they put us on the back burner and took care of his friends. This was my first time going to a Firehouse. Overall the aesthetic is that typical American type, similar to five guys or so. Let's start with the sandwich. I got a club on a sub, but they forgot the bacon. We all know that a club is nothing without the bacon, so that was pretty disappointing, but overall the sandwich was just alright. The bread didn't have a satisfying toasted crunch, nor did it melt together in an untoasted fashion. The flavors were all just meh. Not bad, but not great either, just ok. The pepper sauce that you can get on the side was just super sweet and nothing else really. It was good, but again, not great. The Mac and cheese... Came out of a plastic baggie. I know that that's just a reality of fast food, but it's still jarring to see. The worst part though, was that it was Mac and cheese soup. It was so funny and relatively flavorless. Off you're looking for a similar flavor, I definitely recommend Panera bread's Mac. I also tried the cherry limeade that's a Firehouse special. Again, way to sweet, where is the lime part? I certainly couldn't taste it. A pretty mediocre trip overall, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. read more

I have always loved Firehouse and definitely more than Subway or any other sub places. I recommend it to everyone hungry. This location, first, had a guy that looked high and was REALLY SLOW. Other people that came in after me were all getting their subs made by someone quicker and were done and out. He then had to throw it away because he used the wrong bread and then the other person made it because I asked him if he was new. The other girl working kept asking him "did they even train you?!" I haven't seen him there since but once so I am guessing maybe he got fired? I, however, never see the same people so it is always hit or miss with the quality of the food. I still go there though because I love Firehouse and because it is literally 2 minutes from my house. Last night I went there with a friend and they took a little longer than usual to make two subs. We even called it in. We waited for it to finish and went straight home (reminder - 2 minutes) when it was done. The subs were hard and cold. I bought 5 of the lemon macadamia nut cookies which are usually totally amazing. They were hard and tasted bad; almost as if they had an old freezer burnt taste. I threw them away. Then today, my partner and I have had some serious upset stomachs. I'm really sad about it because Firehouse to me is like going to a families restaurant. I get even sadder when they forget to put my pickle in the bag (every time). Knowing me I am still going to go there, though, mainly because I love their subs. This location never has its open sign on, I usually only come here at night so I don't know if it is broken or they purposely turn it off to make it seem like they are closed but it has been off for weeks now. They literally close early every night, just pulled up and they were closed, doors locked, lights off, and it was 8:39pm when we pulled up. Online & on the door it says they are open until 9pm Sunday-Thurs and are supposed to be opened till 10pm on Friday & Saturday. There were literally employees inside of the store closing it down when we pulled up and tried going inside. The managers need to do better with making sure their employees actually operate at the correct hours and aren't closing early. read more

I tried calling my order in as per usual. I recieved voicemail 3 times followed by an answer. I was put on hold for 12 minutes before hanging up. I tried calling again and got the voicemail. Finally I visited the store... The place was farily empty. I waited for the employee to take my order. I explained to the cashier what was going on and was dismissed by saying they were busy and short handed. I waited almost 20 minutes for my sandwich, thanked them and left. When I got home my sandwich was incorrectly made and on both orders the bread was practically raw. Bad experience. New managment and ownership is apparent. read more
