I have been eating at Seminole subs since it opened, when I was pregnant with my now 32-year-old daughter. But I think I'm done. I ordered on my phone last night for pick up. Their drive-through always takes forever so I figured I was saving time. I might've saved time, but I lost money. Each of the items I bought was considerably more expensive by ordering it online than by waiting through their drive-through. Three dollars extra on a $10.99 sub for the convenience of ordering online is ridiculous. I know that Uber eats and DoorDash up charge, but I had no idea I would be upcharged for a pick up order. My companion and I were running errands one evening and decided to stop in for a Gero salad and hamburger. Since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped in at Seminole Subs and Gyros. My companion ordered the Gero salad and I had the cheeseburger with onion rings. This is a typical counter service restaurant with a video menu above the cashier. They have plenty of selections and I have enjoyed other of their sandwiches. The cashier was polite and helpful, and the interior of the restaurant was clean, well lit and recently remodeled. Even though we arrived, so after dinner time the restaurant was not packed and there was no wait. My companion enjoyed her Gyro salad, but it was nothing special, although there was enough for two. The cheeseburger was just a typical cheeseburger with nothing to write home about as being special. The onion rings seem to be fresh made and had a nice crispy texture with a sweet onion center. Since I am not grading on a curve, Seminole Subs and Gyros gets three stars. If I was grading on a counter service burger, place the rating would be higher. read more

We ordered dinner here tonight(Steak&cheese) this was the worst steak& cheese I've ever ordered. I could have made this out of steakum from the grocery store. It had no flavor the steak was chopped very fine until it just mimic the vegetables. I'm glad I didn't get a whole one like my husband. I hate that. We live too far to take it back. This sub shop is always busy and there's a reason for it. Their subs are top notch. The staff is very attentive to how you want it made, and they are fast in completing your order. Super disappointed in my meal tonight. I ordered a large Greek salad and a side of gyro meat. It was roughly 15 dollars or so. I drove home and it was a bunch of lettuce, maybe 4 olives, 4 tomato slices, 4 thin cucumber slices, 1 pepper and ZERO potato salad in the middle. It was really pathetic. The menu is vast, the dining room is exceptionally clean and we enjoyed our meals. The service was also friendly and professional. Then, the adventure started... I had left the car idling with my wonderful wife inside. When I went out to bring her the food, I noticed the temperature gauge was very well past the red line. I shut off the car immediately and hoped there was no engine damage. Our car is a 96 Impala SS which has been unbelievably reliable plus faster than most. Simple, I thought. Just call AAA so I did. Their estimated time of arrival was 5 hours apparently due to everyone else breaking down before me. We waited in the restaurant and they were considerate but then we had to wait in the car when the restaurant closed. And wait we did. For many hours. I called AAA a few times and they finally found a tow truck that would take us home. The gentleman arrived and thankfully let us ride in the cab with him. We made it home at 1am! Wow!!!! Looks were a little deceiving - I expected a subway type place, and I was blown away by what I found instead. Friendly, welcoming employees, a business that in turn supports local businesses (TRY the desserts!!!!), pleasantly clean environment. The food was so good; it came out fast, had good variety for everyone. I had the Cuban and I would highly recommend - my mouth is watering thinking about it. Please open a restaurant in Lakeland!!!
