We actually had Williams today and I highly recommend getting their YumYum Club sandwich hit relish on the side.

My wife's family has been going there for at least 30 years. Whenever someone comes to visit we need to make a stop at Williams. My wife and I go there about every 6 weeks or so. The folks are friendly and the subs are great. Love my hot pepper relish. read more

Date of Visit: 02/09/25 Before I started this review I had to look over my pics to make sure I am true to my review... If any of you are following me you would see that I had a not a great day the day before for a lunch stop. I was wanting an Italian sub today and didn't want no chain shop sandwich. I decided on Williams and had high expectations as well. People are correct to the fact it is somewhat hidden in this plaza with it being on the corner and the bike trail passes over top in that section. It's more of a grab and go place than dine in so when I arrived there was plenty of parking, I was dining in today. As I approached the counter and looking over the menu I knew what I wanted, an Italian. I asked for an Italian sub and the person behind the counter recommend their take on the Italian, I said sure then was asked what side. There were several sides, I opted for the potato salad. Others came and picked up orders and went. My sandwich and salad arrived, I unwrapped it and well I was not too excited but gave it a try. I'm not one to make a fuss. It was a bit on the anemic side, weak, it may have had enough meat and cheese but I was expecting to see some lettuce and tomato on it, all it had was the spicy relish. It did add something to it but wanted some crisp crunch. The roll it was made with was the saving grace, nice and fresh. Also the potato was good as well. So my motorcycle died in the parking lot and I was hungry. I had heard that Williams Sub Shop, though they only serve Cubans on Friday, has the BEST sandwiches in all of Pinellas County. I won't hold you in suspense, it's true. I stopped in and was greeted by two sweet ladies behind the counter who recommended I try the Yum-Yum Club Sandwich (since it wasn't Friday). I ate every last bit of it, I was picking the pieces up from my tray. Afterward I tried all their sides, with my favorite being the Red Potato Salad, and got an Oreo Dream Bar to top it all off. Perfect little sandwich shop atmosphere, drink cooler with classic sodas, clean place, classic jams playing on the radio. What a fabulous find! We have been driving by this place since moving to Largo and finally stopped in. They welcomed us in and asked if we had been there before. After saying no, they did a quick run through their menu pointing out favorites, which I love! We opted for the yum yum and my go to always, the Italian. The bread was so delicious with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of sandwich fillings. The restaurant is very no nonsense on the inside but very clean. It still has that old school vibe which is fun. They do not have fountain drinks only bottles or cans so if you are an ice girl like me, make sure to bring your own! read more

Stopped here after reading the reviews. I hate giving bad reviews but maybe it was just an off day. Ordered a regular Italian Sub with peppers and pickles. There was one small and I mean small piece of each meat and a small slice of cheese and a tiny among of lettuce. Not sure what the meat and cheese tasted like as it was mainly bread. This was basically a flat sub when closed. I accidentally deleted the picture but believe me it was the smallest amount of meat and cheese I've had on any sub. Staff was not very friendly, like I mentioned earlier, maybe a bad day. We're not willing to try again spending the money and have the same experience. Came here everyday for lunch when I worked minor league Devil Rays Spring Training games at their old complex a few blocks away in 2001-2004 and always ordered the same thing for 2-3 weeks straight ... YumYum Club warmed up, all the way, with red peppers. Best sandwich on the planet!! Came back in 2021, and brought the family with me ... and the place, the staff, and the sandwich were exactly what I remembered. All of their subs have a unique flavor if ordered all-the-way with original toppings. My favorite is their Italian sub with house made hot pepper relish. However, many people say that the main thing to order here is the Yum Yum Club. Their hot pepper relish to so amazingly zingy, sweet, and spicy all at the same time. We have been going to Williams sub shop since the early 80's and always loved the subs. I came to town to visit family and went for my usual jumbo all the way with extra tomatoes and hot peppers. Not the same! The bread was different and has a subtle sweet taste to it. Oh, how my heart was hurt. I tried to like it but I just didn't. I usually take sandwiches back to TX with me but not this time. Best sub you will have hands down. This place is a small family owned sub shop that's been around for decades. The subs are so good I'm still thinking about it a week later. I had the king crab sub and it was to Die for. You can sit inside or take it to go but man oh man, don't try to take one bite in your car because you will eat the whole thing right then and there. read more

I get the yum yum sub and it's good ! I love the little bacon bits on it. I usually take out the ham and double up on the other meats. Only recommendation is to buy a toaster, if you want it hot they will microwave it & bread & microwave doesn't go together after a couple of minutes. Horrible customer service, won't be coming back. I have been coming here for over 20 years. Never once had any issue. Usually it's the same white lady with blond hair who's in there but today I got a foreign looking lady who treated me like crap. I usually pay 19.50 for my sandwich combo but idk I guess it went up to 25.66 which would of been fine if she didn't tell at me for grabbing the wrong chips. Instead of screaming at your customers why don't you be polite since these are the people helping you eat a living and I always come in nice smiling and usually leave min 5$ tip and also did today which I wish I could of snatched back. The energy is inviting and laid back. I've never been here before but somehow, I belong. I love that this sub shop has a menu with their creations (I don't always want to make my own sandwich, ya feel?) and specialties. Things like salad stuffed tomatoes? And tuna macaroni salad? All old school, a little odd, and totally awesome sounding. I chose to order the Super "all the way" ("all the way" comes with pickled relish, hot picked peppers, oil, oregano, onions, and tomato. This sandwich comes on bread that to me can only be described as "middle of summer, ankles covered in red ant bites, your best friends lake house" bread. This sandwich is good. Dare I say...SUPER good. I regret taking a million years to muster the courage to try this local gem. Now that I've been I can't wait to return. We rolled up on Williams for lunch. I tried an Italian sub. I only found it to be average. It's merely a personal preference, but I much prefer subs at Jersey Mike's, WaWa, & at Publix. This sub had a roll that was almost too soft. The lunch meat was mostly ham. I requested several optional toppings including spicy pepper relish & vinegar. My sandwich disappointed though as I could taste neither the peppers nor the vinegar. Williams did provide a lot of tomatoes & a generous amount of black olives. In full disclosure, although I found the sub here to be subpar, a ton of people came in, showing business is excellent. So admittedly I may be out of step with the opinion of others. read more
