I have eaten at the First Watch where I live near Mandarin, Florida, but I'm visiting my sister in Largo, FL, and we wanted a substantial, tasty, and healthy breakfast. So off to First Watch we went. She loves the coffee and we split a "Morning"mixed-juice drink. It's an enjoyable atmosphere and our waitperson Wendy made it more so by joking around with us. I got a decaf coffee and it was tasty--there are various flavors of creamers to use--with hazelnut creamer in it. My sister got the avocado toast dish and I got the lemon ricotta cheese pancakes. They came with fruit and a whipped lemon cream topping. Luscious! There was plenty of my dish so I took one pancake with me and the coffee is so good that my sister bought a bag of it on our way out. read more

Love the avocado toast, although its taste varies by location. One location used more lemon, another location more salt. One location's yolks were hardened; another location's yolks were runny. I guess this is no different than any other restaurant; food varies depending on who's in the kitchen that day. Found out today that the blackberry iced tea is NOT unsweetened. It tasted unsweetened several different times in several different locations, but today my server decided to pump the blackberry syrup 3 times instead of once, and my straw picked up pure syrup from the bottom of the glass. So, I won't be ordering this any more. I stopped ordering the veggie burgers. I used to love them; I wonder if they changed the recipe. read more

Food was excellent per usual. I got lunch this time and had the Toast beef sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. The sandwich was fantastic - took half of it home. The soup was okay - more cheesy than broccoli. Our service was great as well. This is probably our favorite first watch location. read more

What's the Fuss? I've now been to the First Watches in both Clearwater and Largo. I just can't see why they're so popular. The interior is clean and bright and the server was pleasant. But it really comes down to the food. I've tried some of the items on the menu that you don't get at a local diner and just thought they were OK. So this time I went with the standards. The scrambled eggs should have been fluffier. The ham was a nice, thick cut but should have been seared better on the grill. The French toast was thick but not cooked all the way through and had a soggy center. The biscuit was toasted on the grill, which is normally nice, but it seemed as if it had been pressed down and flattened, removing any fluffiness. The worst was the grits. So often grits are flavorless. Sometimes they're wet and sloppy and other times sticky and gummy. These grits weren't just flavorless, they actually tasted bad--some of the worst I've ever had--and they were gummy to boot. At least they took them off the bill. So many local Mom & Pop diners do a better job with all these basics. If you want Lemon Ricotta Pancakes or a Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl, go to First Watch. If you want more typical comfort food for breakfast, go elsewhere. First Watch? I'll wait for the next shift. read more

I have always LOVED first watch! It's my favorite spot to meet friends for brunch or to go to breakfast with my mom when we're off school/work. Everything I've had here is so delicious and the wait staff is always the kindest! The vibes and ambiance are incredible and this is definitely the best First Watch location I have been to. I highly recommend the pancakes and any of the egg hashes or omelets! My mom and I love to share a pancake and a savory dish which is always the perfect combo! read more

I was really looking forward to eating at First Watch, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We were seated at a dirty table, which wasn't a great first impression. One of the eggs in our order was made incorrectly, and when we brought it up, it didn't seem like anyone really cared to fix it. On top of that, they forgot my muffin and fruit -- which never came, even after we asked about it. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and while I understand places get busy, the attention to detail just wasn't there. Hopefully this was just an off day, but I probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

I used to go there 2 or more times a week. I started to notice the cleanliness of the coffee mugs. Twice I had a dirty lip stick stained rim. 1 time I got sick afterwards. Second time was last time. Our server was attentive, professional and proficient. All of the the staff is friendly. I enjoyed the Roast Beef & Havarti from the sandwich section. It's a delectable - roast beef, horseradish havarti, house- roasted onions and tomatoes with lemon dressed arugula on parmesan-crusted sourdough bread. Horseradish sauce was served on the side. I decided on the tomato basil soup as my side which was a good decision. My guy ordered the Tri-fecta which is considered a classic favorite. He cage-free eggs were perfectly soft scrambled and the bacon was crispy. The Belgium waffle was the star of the show with a side of the pomegranate sauce. We stopped in one day while on errands, and enjoyed brunch very much. I had The traditional, Bacon, eggs, seasoned home fries, and toast. This was absolutely delicious everything was cooked to order, the home fries could not have been any better very nicely seasoned. My bride chose the trifecta. Two eggs, sausage, and A very large pancake, of which you can add blueberries, bananas, etc. she enjoyed her meal very much, although she could not finish the pancake (rookie). Server Brandon was excellent checking in on us frequently. The decor of the restaurant is very interesting and Eye appealing. We highly recommend. read more

On vacation and found this place. Great find! Tried it twice. First visit was 5 stars. Food was amazing. Male server was perfect. He was friendly and personable, made sure to confirm all options on food choices. Day 2 was 4 stars. Female server a little less personable, but not bad in any way, just not AS friendly. She didn't confirm any options (like toast choices and we forgot to change it). My husbands side didn't come out until we were done eating and they just said "sorry" and that was it. Food still good but we tried other things and neither liked it as much as day 1. We also added an additional egg to our choices and they charged $2.59 per extra egg!! That's robbery! We ordered eggs over easy and they were all over medium on day 2, almost over hard.Yes, the food all seems fresh and clean, though they have International Coffee Mate on the table which is toxic so that throws me off. Seems out of place here where everything else seems so real. At the end of the day, I'd eat here again and enjoyed it. Ambience is clean and open, inviting. Bathrooms are clean. A strong 4 stars, knowing service and chefs can tip the scale. read more

This trip to First Watch had me looking at First Watch in a whole new light. I haven't been since 2019 and didn't really think about going until my friends wanted to grab brunch. They did amazing with the timing of our brunch and we had the best service too! Each one of us loved our meal and we split the berry muffin top meal as an appetizer & got the million dollar bacon(not pictured). They also have dairy free international delight creamers which I super appreciated! Definitely see more trips to First Watch in my future! read more

It was so good, we ate there twice during our ten day stay. We tried their burger,sea bass and tuna poke. All of these items were amazing! My husband is a burger connoisseur and rated this the best burger ever! Their fries were amazing,too! And, I need to mention their awesome cocktails; we had the "late checkout" and the "sunrise spritz". We highly recommend this place and eating on their outdoor patio overlooking the ocean at sunset. read more

Our host was friendly and our server Mickey was over the top!!! Our order: farmhouse hash ($12), millionaire bacon ($5.50), avocado toast ($11), Purple haze drink ($5) The second time we came, we got the oatmeal with fruit and the breakfast burger. Pros: - THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS. I don't know if the FL brunch scene just knocks CA's brunch scene out of the water or what - but the food was straight up delicious. I would say we liked our order the FIRST time better than the second, but all of it was super super delicious. The purple haze was so good I had to get it the second time as well - just delicious lavender goodness. They don't come off as a chain restaurant but they are! That super surprised me. - The millionaire bacon was delicious - might seem dumb to pay $5 for 4 pieces of bacon, but it was super good. And I'm usually not a big bacon person. A steak and bacon breakfast burrito-phenomenal and the Southern Seoul Hash ( I think that was the name). I could eat the hash every day. So so so good!!!! Location: Nice interior. Very comfortable and clean. There is no customer diversity or employee diversity. Probably exactly what you would expect. Like most places, a bit of a shock going from the heat outside to the cold AC. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily. I prefer to eat inside so the AC is not an issue for me but I wanted to be upfront about that. Service: Pretty good. They treated us well and explained how many locations they have and that they are a farm to table establishment that makes fresh juices. Food: I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. They were pretty good. A bit too sweet but pretty good. I like the farm to table idea for sure. I would definitely go back. Ok- maybe I'm low class or something but sometimes I just want a basic breakfast meal. Eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrowns. Well, that's impossible to find here. I ended up having to get two entrees to get what I wanted but that's ok I guess. The food was good. The hashbrowns were undercooked but everything else tasted good. My boyfriend got a sandwich with a bowl of soup which he enjoyed. I think it all depends on what kind of breakfast you're looking for. All in all- it was good food. read more
