Date of Visit: 03/112026 1:30pm I have driven by this place dozens of times and just didn't take the time to stop because it was the weekend. On this day (Wednesday) I found myself working from home and said to my self, "Self, today we eat at the Side Door Deli". As I pulled in from Central I could see the lot was busy but spots were available. I believe I entered thru the front door, but as I looked the place over I could see "The Side Door". My order for today was to go and a nice lady was there ready to take it. I looked the menu over and decided on the "Kevin" a corned beef, lettuce and tomato club with Russian dressing. I had a slice of cheese on mine. With it I got the potato salad. Under $14 with a 12oz drink. Having only a short wait, I received my order and made my way home, could not wait. I have been waiting a long time to find this type of deli / luncheonette place to eat. Opening the box it came in, it was put together right. I first hit the potato salad first and it was awesome. Just the right amount zing. Now it's Kevin's turn...Wow, this is my new go place for a club. I wasn't sure if I wanted it toasted or not and the nice lady taking my order said,"lightly". I says yes. Next time full toast. I totally recommend this place, won't be disappointed. And I do see they are open on Saturdays. Breakfast? Peace. read more

We love this community restaurant. It's like an extension of the home. It's owned and operated by an amazing couple who treat customers like friends. Homemade Corned beef hash was excellent. Coffee was unexpectedly flavorful and strong, not your typical diner cuppa. Always have both breakfast & lunch specials going on. Emily was incredible, running the entire floor by herself on a busy Monday morning and we never had to wait for anything. Super attentive and on point! It is very cute on the inside, a few four tops and a bunch of 2 tops. Probably wouldn't bring a larger party here but only because it's a one room, open kitchen concept. It's very quaint & cozy. A good solid place to grab breakfast or lunch. Good service, Good food .I was in the mood for a sandwhixh during lunch last week and saw the side door deli. I orderd the Josh on rye, it's a turkey club that comes with your choice of a side. I went the potato salad and ordered Motzah ball soup to go. Everything was really good , bread was soft and the soup was homemade snd had great flavor. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Really disappointed. Stopped by the deli at 2:45 this afternoon only to find the doors locked and the staff cleaning up. If your posted hours are to be open until 3PM then I would expect that you lock the doors and clean up at 3PM. I would have loved to grab a quick lunch here and give a great review but I can't do that if they close the doors early! read more

Food is great but you can't count on them being open as long as they say they will. Three times I've gotten there well before 2 and the door was locked. Not a good look. read more

Drive by this place all the time but usually on the weekend. Decided to drive ove on a Friday and checkout what it is all about. The reviews are great and I was craving a rueben. First off all of the notes about the people were spot on. So nice and helpful. Menu choices look amazing but like I said I wanted a Reuben. Got the classic with a cup of chicken and rice. Both were awesome! The Ruben had some really good flavors and mixed with the dressing and sauerkraut it was really good. Soup was flavorful and hearty. Looking forward to working my through the lunch menu and one day have a breakfast too! read more

This place is amazing! The home fries were perfect! The French Toast was raisin bread sooo freaking good! My Husband got The Hungry Mans breakfast and the pancakes on that plate were almost as big as the plate. Our waitress was super sweet and always making sure we liked our food and asked if we needed refills. The Owner maybe? I dont everyone that works there was super nice and welcoming! I've been wanting to go here to have a corn beef sandwich but when I got there the special of the day was a sloppy Joe. You don't get those too often in Florida so I tried it. It was reminiscence of the sloppy Joe's.wr got in school and I absolutely loved it! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked good! The place was very clean and everyone was friendly! I really want to recognize the waitress because she was one of the most friendly waitresses I've come across in a very long time. She's a gem! Ran in here on a whim on a rainy day. I am absolutely pleased. My partner got a ruben with pastrami and roast beef. He's delighted. The matzo ball soup is on point. It was just the day for perfectly done NY food. The service was speedy, having it all together for me to go in under 10 min. I am definitely coming back to sit and enjoy the deli vibe. I have driven by this place quite a few times but my son is home sick and I decided to stop in and get him some soup. Small, cozy place with a friendly husband/wife handling almost everything. I only got 2 soups, the cream of mushroom (soup of the day) and the chicken and rice. Both tasted and appeared to be homemade. The cream of mushroom was a little lumpy but very tasty, and the chicken and rice had a nice flavor. The chicken was pulled of the bone so you could tell this was homemade for sure. Both were very good. My husband went back and got a burger with fries and my son (who was hungry for more than soup) got a bacon burger w/fries. Both agreed the burgers were very good. Tasty. The fries were a bit overdone for his taste but thinks most people would enjoy them. We'd certainly try more items again based upon our first try and I love the idea of helping a local business. read more

It's a little hole in wall with New York feel and the streets of NY paling on the TV screens with music. The food is super fresh and comes out fast. I went with a friend and we shared the Greek salad, turkey club, and macaroni salad. Yummy! We left super full and the prices were awesome! I will definitely be back! read more

Stopped by today for lunch with my mom. I was really hankering for some matzah ball soup, and enjoyed the bowl at the Side Door Deli. I also enjoyed the cheeseburger. My mom liked her tuna melt. Loved the tuna salad and Matzo Ball Soup. In particular that soup is 100% good. I wish I lived closer. The place is bare bones, barely clean but who cares. Prices are great. Don't blink or you'll miss it... We just moved to St Pete a few months ago and are literally blocks from here... I found it exploring the neighborhood. Recently decided to stop by for breakfast and was not disappointed. The young lady waiting tables was warm and friendly; she got me coffee and gave me a few minutes with the menu. Craving good deli I went straight for the three egg omelette with pastrami, fried potatoes and marble rye ($7.25). I also added Swiss cheese to the omelette. The food came up quickly and was hot and flavorful; you could taste the pastrami and there was plenty inside the omelette... potatoes were roasted and flavorful. The marble the was just OK, I miss good NY "chewy" rye bread. The menu shows real promise for return visits - I told the server that if they had whitefish and chopped liver I'd be moving in... she jokingly reminded me that they deliver. This place is a hidden Gem! I've driven by the place thousands of times and decided to stop one day and it was worthwhile. The Side Door Deli team consists of owners Rael and Emily and Chef Don! They treat you like customers should be treaty! The service is second to none and the food surprisingly delicious...it also has that NYC flava (lol). This place is a little difficult to find. Located on the first floor of an office complex, I'm sure not many folks notice this place from the road. I'm sure it's mostly spread by word of mouth and by those who work in the office complex. I've only had breakfast here a few times, never lunch, but I know they serve typical deli style sandwiches with Boar's Head meats. As far as breakfast goes, they have raisin bread french toast that makes your mouth water. A very cheap menu, and I recall some kind of special with eggs and toast (big platter) for a cheap price as well. The waitresses look a little run down, like they've seen better days, but it almost has a diner atmosphere. I would stop in here on my way to the beach via Central Ave to the Treasure Island Bridge because I always knew there wasn't a wait and it was cheap but decent food. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. The corned beef reuben was so so so perfect: as in, EXACTLY what you are imagining when you order it. Perfectly toasted, generous portions of meat, fresh, and hot. I am particularly picky when it comes to 'salads' (i.e. tuna salad, egg salad, potato salad etc.) and every one I've ordered from here I have loved. They only needed a little bit of salt and the flavor was precisely what I wanted. The iced tea is fresh and brewed strong, just the way you want. The chicken soup is delicious and really feeds the soul like the comfort food you expect it to.
