I went to the cafe restaurant located near the escalator and the server named Josh is very good and friendly services to me and my family. I highly recommend you to visit that restaurant. It's worth the price and the service and best food.

Another nice staycation at FK ....this time we had a king classic corner room and really liked it! Clean and spacious, well appointed. All staff were so pleasant and welcoming. Good food options and gaming. Looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend.

Very bright and lots of gambling options. It would have been better if there was more blackjack and Roulette machines.

My hubby and I went this week and the king room was fine until my hubby wanted coffee. Well the pot hasn't been cleaned in awhile. But housekeeping has the nerve to leave a scan for a tip. As I told my hubby, I ALWAYS take the linen off the bed b/c I hear how hotels don't sometimes change the bed, clean the shower or coffee pots.

So we were here on Christmas. The place is packed with people who either don't have family or want to eat out for Christmas and game. My wife love slots (they were very tight) and I like table games. The table games were full to bursting with people waiting for a spot. They were only seating 5 people to a six person table. Most blackjack tables were a $25 or $15 minimum, there was only one with a $10 minimum. They apparently just went to plastic playing cards from paper last week and the automatic shufflers kept breaking down. The two floor Bosses were running around saying they didn't know what to do and wouldn't let the dealers hand shuffle. We sat at our table along with at least three other tables waiting for someone to make a decision from 4:15 pm until they got ours working at 4:50 pm. The next shift came in at 4:30 pm and got most of them running. Dealers were nice, didn't do well. But that is gambling. Met some nice people and ate at Smoke & Fire (great meal and service).

Hotel part. They are in the process of building a second tower.

I've been to FireKeepers over the years but this was my first time staying at the hotel. My husband and I booked the standard king room for $89 a night (weekday rate) and was impressed with how spacious and comfortable our room was. They even have a Keurig in the room, which to me is a big deal, because I need my morning coffee or bad things happen lol. Everywhere we went was clean and sanitized. From hotel personnel to the waitstaff to the blackjack dealers, everyone was polite and professional. We had dinner at Dacey's Taphouse and enjoyed our burgers and drinks. Service was quick despite how busy and limited with social distancing they are. They now have a smoke free policy in the casino which I think is great. With designated heated outside smoking areas it's a win-win for everyone. I stuck with slot machines this trip and my husband played blackjack. We both won a little bit and had a relaxing overnight getaway during the shutdown. FireKeepers is doing it right with safety in mind. See you on our next trip to Michigan!

    Pool

I will start with the bad and end on a positive note. The website says they have a two story pool, which I was anxious to see. I'm not quite sure why it's a two story pool. It does have some waterfalls both times we went there were no towels Not super clean, but it was very very crowded. You have to walk through the lobby of the hotel in your bathing suit to get to the pool we were in tower 2 the pool is near Tower 1, odd design. The food at the casino is not as overpriced as some casino just moderately priced. It was decent food. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a nice one time trip. I don't think we would go back.

Found Howard's through a search of hotels near the casino and was not disappointed with this find…read more Howard's is a quaint and tidy motel. Reminds me of the old route 66 type motels with actual keys for the doors! We had 4 adults in our party and the beds were nice, desk space was ample along with the amenities of microwave (which we didn't use), tv and refrigerator (we used for water). Bathroom is a bit small for 4 adults with little shelf space but for an overnight stay it was adequate. Don't expect the niceties of typical hotels but 3 packets of shampoo and 3 small bars of soap were provided. Towels were also provided. The shower was fine for me (5'2") but short for my 6' husband. However it had plenty of hot water and the entire bathroom was very clean. Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant. I didn't check for ice but there was an ice bucket in the room. Overall this is a pleasant place to stay and if we are in the area again we will definitely stay here.

We stayed at McCamily Plaza during our 2014 Thanksgiving visit with family…read more I was surprised that another reviewer wrote that there is not an exercise room/fitness center, because I had remembered there being one at the hotel on prior stays. Sure enough the exercise room is on the 2nd floor near the pool- I took some photos just to prove it exists. It is well marked with signs on the wall as well as in the elevators. Another reviewer mentioned parking- there is free private lot hotel parking and a nearby attended parking structure that connects to the hotel. The first night of our stay the parking attendant at the parking structure gave us free parking for some reason, the second night cost $6 for overnight parking. I don't feel that $6 for overnight parking is going to break the bank for me, certainly compared to other hotels that charge far more. During a recent stay in a Northern California hotel we were charged $25 a day just for having a vehicle on the property. Note: If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room facing away from the Amtrak station (toward downtown) the desk is more than happy to do this on request. I mention this because as another reviewer mentioned, the rail line a few blocks away is busy with both freight and passenger rail traffic. We found that the free wi-fi had a strong signal and it seemed to have a good amount of bandwidth no matter what time of the day that we connected. McCamily Plaza runs special rates often and sometimes you can get a better rate from hotels.com. Not sure why the high priced rating from other reviewers because we felt what we paid was more in the "moderate" price range. Tip: Check out the nearby Arcadia Brewing Company for great food and microbrew beer. It's in easy walking distance from the hotel.

I called back several weeks later to modify and they couldn't find my reservation due to misspelling my name. They said that they corrected. When I checked in, they couldn't find my reservation because no one ever actually corrected it. The hotel is in need of updating and a needs a good cleaning. The heat sometimes works. Some in our group didn't have their rooms cleaned the entire weekend. Our room had remnants of the last guests and one of the beds was broken making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. Our remote didn't match our television so we had to locate the buttons on the television. Not a big deal but just another example of things that don't work. There were two employees that we found very responsive and helpful - a young man at the valet desk and the overnight front desk person. Other than that, the staff is not helpful and not particularly friendly. It's almost as if you are bothering them asking questions or asking for your room to be serviced. This hotel needs desperately to be purchased by a chain that can afford to put a significant amount of money into updates. There also needs to be some sort of staff training and customer service expectation. Do yourself a favor and forgo the convenience and drive a bit for a better hotel.

Atmosphere wise this was a normal 2/3 star motel. Everything seemed clean just a little older…read more I paid a little extra for the Jetted tub room. The room was good and had a mini fridge and a microwave. The TV was a little below average in size. The jetted tub ended up being unusable. I tried filling it up and 40 minutes later it was only 20 percent full even though the drain was plugged and had both hot and cold running for last 20 minutes. I then gave up and let it drain. Later I attempted to take a shower instead and the shower didn't work. It was a shower tub combo unit where you flip the switch below the faucet for the shower. I did that and nothing happened except a tiny tribble out of the showerhead. Lastly the bed was way too firm for my preferences. I ended up sleeping badly. On the good side the blackout curtain worked well. The service was very friendly. I needed change for the vending machine and they happily helped. Though I must say $2.50 for a 20oz soda seems high. Overall I had trouble deciding between a 2 or 3 star review. In the end I decided a 3 star, because bed firmness is definitely a personal preference. There's nothing wrong with the hotel itself. That room just needs some maintenance and the upgrade to jetted isn't worth it. Would I return? Absolutely not. Like I said I prefer soft beds.
