We had Landon out with his assistant to clean our chimney for the first time, and we were very impressed with efficiency, cleanliness, and how thorough they were. There was only one glitch, the damper was inadvertently left closed and unbeknownst to us when we went to build a fire the next night it started to blow into the room and could've been a total disaster, but we were able to get it open in time. I called Landon because of course there was fire damage to the frame of my fireplace surround. The reason I am giving five stars here is because Landon made it right. Landon at Fire Safe Chimney Repair is awesome! Our chimney had been leaking water into the firebox for years. We've had multiple companies come to determine the problem, but no one was able to figure it out. All of them wanted approximately $1,500 to replace the whole unit. Landon came to our home this year to inspect the issue. Immediately, he suspected that there were some straps attached to the cap (see picture 2) that did not belong there which could be causing the water to be diverted into the chimney. He removed them and touched up the rest of the cap and shroud. He invoiced me a fraction of the cost to replace the whole unit like other companies recommended. Over the weekend, we had the first big rain of over half an inch, which would typically make our chimney cap leak into the firebox. We were out of town, so I set up some buckets and towels underneath just in case. When we came back, the buckets were dry! I was really stoked to see he fixed the problem that no one else could. We have a custom fire pit which sits inside our swimming pool. We decided to replace the fire glass in the fire pit as it was nearly 8 years old.
