Firestone's customer service has been extremely disappointing. We purchased the lifetime wheel alignment package, but every time we bring our truck in, we end up waiting more than two hours. On one occasion, we even had to leave the truck overnight because they couldn't complete the work the same day. We schedule appointments for a reason, yet they consistently fail to respect their customers' time. What's even more frustrating is the lack of communication. If they're running behind, they don't bother to call or provide an update. Today, we had a 1:00 PM appointment. When we checked back at 2:15 PM, the service advisor informed us that our truck hadn't even been brought into the shop because they only had two technicians working. Despite knowing about the delay, no one contacted us. Poor communication, excessive wait times, and a lack of respect for customers' schedules make for a very frustrating experience. Based on our experience, I would not recommend supporting this business. read more

When booking the appointment they said they would handle the third party warranty company. Brittany the employee working on the phone said she didn't have time to deal with it. 400$ for oil change and the fluid for leak finding and 2200$ to fix the leak. From a business standpoint, it probably makes more sense for the employee to spend the time to talk to the warranty company to get them to authorize the repair than for me to just go take the car somewhere else that will deal with it. Junior who took my call was nice and courteous when I originally set up the appointment. I'm not planning on going back. If your employees are too busy to do the work you might need more employees, or better ones that are capable of handling a working out the logistics of taking a phone call to a warranty company. Ask someone to cover for you, talk to your manager, or even the owner, im sure the owner would be thrilled to know he's going to spend X$ in wage labor to get XXXX$ in money from a corporation. read more

When I came in, the ramen haired skinny man at the counter, who I assume owns the motorbike outside that looks like it belongs to my 10 year old nephew, was already rolling his eyes at an elderly lady who needed help, then went outside with her, blowing vape smoke right in her face. When he walks in, he goes to the counter without acknowledging me. I then go to the counter and say "hi I have an appointment for an oil change" he says "That's nice" and blew me off for another few mins. Then I sat around and waited 2 hours and finally had to leave. Rescheduled my oil change for 7am where my husband took the car in. After stopping at five gas stations where the air pumps were all out of order, I was in a real bind with a nearly flat tire and an early morning flight to Kauai looming. It was getting dark, rain was starting to fall, and I was worried about driving safely tomorrow. JR went above and beyond to help me, filling my tire with the utmost care and positive energy. His upbeat and genuinely helpful attitude turned my stressful day around, and he took the time to make sure my tire was ready to face the wet, dark roads both in the morning and upon my return. Oh My Gosh!! Where do I even begin? They have terrible customer service. Terrible wait times (even with an appointment-- so don't bother making one), and will lie to make sure they are in the right. I was even told "other people are paying over $3000 to get their work done on their car" as to why my car was not even touched after two hours -- with an appointment. They obviously prioritize you over the amount you're spending NOT the order you came in, even with an appointment. Do not even bother wasting your time going here. Well, today I needed to use that spare and they put someone's blown out old spare in my trunk and kept my good spare! I'm so mad right now. Stay away from this place! I went to them to change my tire and to get my oil changed. They called me to let me know that my battery needed to be changed. I gave them the green light to change my battery. I later picked up my car, and all was well. However, fast forward 24 hours later, my car didn't start. My family and I were staycationing in Waikoloa, so I was a bit frazzled because we were far away from any auto shop. When my husband popped the hood to my car, we saw that the battery was not a new battery. The manager Britney was very rude and basically told me that I needed to figure it out. Meaning getting it towed to Kona or to have someone pick up the battery. My sister ended up picking up the battery. I have it on video that Britney stated that they would refund me for the dud battery and give me two new tires for my hassle. When I called Firestone today, they basically denied saying that. Happened to stop in today right at around 5:35pm. They close at 6:00p. I found myself in a bind because I ran over a bolt that penetrated my tire. It was pretty bad news when they let me know that it simply was too big of a puka to fix. I agreed. The bolt was that big. Within 20 minutes, they got me a new tire with a whole lot of discounts that took nearly $80 off the brand new replacement. I was always told to go into any business with aloha. Today was no exception. Customer service agent Anna was super helpful and manager (Cypriano last name, I believe) made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. The shop guys had the tire replaced, balanced, and mounted in two shakes. At the end of the day, mind you. Sometimes people get a bit shity when you show up at closing time. Not today. When I arrived I explained to the consultant how the camber was off and he commented that he agreed and that he noticed it right away. I said that was the reason I wanted it aligned and he said no problem. After waiting over three hours, they didn't do anything because they said it was within specs. When I questioned the consultant, he said he didn't write any notes because he thought they would have known/noticed. Come to find out the Firestone manager lied after personally researching the Hawaii law and speaking with a family mechanic on Maui that the disposable fee is a fee to dispose the old tires and not the new ones being installed. What made it even worse, the manager said it would take an hour for my car to be finished but it actually took 3 hours. I had replaced four new tires through Firestone. Great customer service in the front desk. Before I had left the lot I inspected my car and I thought it looked great but to my surprise five minutes while driving my car my left hubcap flew off. I had spent 30 minutes looking for my hubcap on the side of the road. When I arrived home I also noticed that there was another hubcap missing as well. I wish that the technician would have taken more time to just added those simple details because now I will have to look for hubcaps at my own expense. I have called firestone to let them know and they said let me see what we can do for you but I haven't heard back since. I'll start with the positives. The office staff was great. They were friendly and warm, and I could tell they were trying to expedite once they realized that I was becoming unhappy with the way my service was progressing. Kudos to them. Now the negatives. I made an online appointment for 10:00 am. I arrive at 9:45 and I am all checked in by 9:50 (again, amazing staff). They say it will be about 2 hours of work. Great, I had to go to the mall anyway. I run my errands and head back optimistically at 11:30. After all the staff was so great I felt like it was a well oiled machine. As I arrive they are JUST THEN GETTING MY CAR UP ONTO THE RACK. Needless to say they did not finish in a half an hour. At 1:40 (one hour and 40 minutes after my estimated completion time- in case you don't wanna do the math) they tell me I will need an alignment that should take 15 minutes. I walked out of that place at 2:35 pm. What is the point of an appointment system if it has no bearing on when your car actually gets worked on? And be honest! If it's going to take 4 hours just say so. I would have made arrangements to not be there the whole time. I would not have told my kids not to eat lunch because I will bring them home something. I know you are running a business, but your customers have other things in their lives too. So, I have had a not-so-good experience here in the past and it was the amount of time I had to wait. Hours past the appointment time. This time, I made the appointment for an oil change and had my son take the car in for me. The appointment was at 3 pm. At 5 pm my son finally went to ask why our car had not been pulled into the bay yet and the guy said, "oh, they haven't done yours yet"? So, then my son went outside to wait and saw them finally pulling the car into the bay and overheard them arguing the one guy saying, "we can't take these last-minute jobs, we have to be out of here by 6". The next thing you know they are telling my son that they have to take the car off the lift because it has no fluid in the radiator and they can not change the oil with no coolant in the car! THERE WAS COOLANT WHEN WE DROVE IT FROM PAHOA TO HILO SO WHERE DID ALL THE RADIATOR FLUID MAGICALLY GO? I was on speaker phone when my son was explaining to Lewis, who claimed to be the manager, that it would be impossible to drive a car from Pahoa to Hilo with zero fluid in the radiator and not notice it overheating what were they trying to pull? I told Lewis that there has never been a problem with the car holding coolant and that I can't believe they would drain it as an excuse and leave my son stranded there without even trying to fill it back up with fluid. Lewis did not care at all. My son then tried to drive the car to the next parking lot (AUTO ZONE) to buy coolant to replace what Firestone had emptied and noticed that the engine of our car now sounded like a tractor! Those MFs at Firestone also emptied out all our oil too! So, We had to buy all our fluids to replace in the car just so he can get it home safely and still now have to figure out how to afford an oil change. SOMEWHERE ELSE OBVIOUSLY. Lewis, not professional at all you should be ashamed of your customer service, your whole entire crew should be ashamed of the way you book your appointments and handle your customers, I would give you a minus five stars if I could. The reimbursed me the amount of money that I paid someone else to correct the oil pan situation and apologized. I am not pleased at the way the store location handled the situation initially however I was very pleased at the care and concern the Firestone corporate office had for me as a long time customer of over 17yrs. I went to Fire stone Auto Center, Hilo Hawaii on Wednesday , May 17 2023 to have a battery replacement because the battery I bought from them died earlier than it should so they gave me a credit on my new replacement battery.So I went in and had an 11 o'clock appointment I got my battery plus I had to pay $160 more and I have a lifetime realignment on my car so I took that and had it done.When I return to pay the bill and get my car on my way to the car I tried my alarm system it had no sound so I went back and I asked her customer service what happened to my Car Alarm there's no sound they had its butts and maybe they took my car back in I don't know what they did to my car but they never solved the problem I had to ask for documentation stating they touched my car and now the alarm don't work because they're going to pay to have it fix. BE AWARE! that the manager will tell you over the phone what you want to hear and say they can help, but it's a ploy to attempt to get you through the door to get your service, hoping you will be desperate. They will spout untruths and then give a disclaimer out of context. So when you do go in and you reiterate what you were told on the phone they change the context of the conversation and state they told you "they my be able to help but couldn't guarantee it" for example the manager specifically said they could fit me in for service for a radiator hose leak, I asked if they could get to it for sure and finish today, he said "most Likely, just bring it in". I specifically said "if you can't help please let me know I'm coming from Pahoa, no ride back I can't leave it over night" he said we can most likely get to it bring it in within the hour...which I did. I drive to Firestone keeping my fingers crossed the car wouldn't over heat or blow the radiator, got to Firestone and I told the costumer service rep. the issue and I reiterated that I needed it done today. She said they couldn't look at it until the afternoon and that I would most likely need to keep it there overnight. I again told her I made it clear when I called that I couldn't keep it in the shop over night and that I asked specifically to please let me know over the phone before I drove the car to Hilo. She walks into the management office, told the manager that I wanted it done "now" (I didn't say that). Manager comes out said "it was me you spoke to and I told you we couldn't guarantee anything" I said, "I asked you specifically if you can get to it today and told you I couldn't keep the car there over night.", I told him " you should have said to me over the phone, in the context you are now, the situation. Not let me drive all the way to Hilo knowing I have a radiator hose issue". He was not apologetic nor concerned about misleading me. Regardless, they lost a customer permanently. Still sitting here in the waiting room - an hour after they officially "closed" for the day - and still they're not done. Huge inconvenience. Sitting at fire stone waiting for an alignment with ian arrogant sales person cashier gives me plenty of time to post an accurate review. I had my tires done here several years ago. It is hard to get runflat tires and they could not get tires for my car even though I was 30 miles from home they could offer no service to allow me to drive my vehicle. I said I would buy any tires- anything. I had my 3 little foster children with me. Nothing! I towed my car home and I bought runflat tires privately along with rims hadthem mounted at thisfire stone and paid for the lifetime alignment. I made an appointment to get the alignment came in and waited over six hours before they even looked at my car. They took my car put it up on a lift then told me I had the wrong Lugnuts and I had to walk to the part store across the street to get it. You would've thought in the six hours I was waiting they could've at least looked at it but no. Needless to say, I needed an alignment today, So I made an appointment for 930 today and Jonathan the arrogant customer service representative that I had dealt with the previous visit is again drunk with the power of being an ass and ruining an unsuspecting customer's day. 1.5 hours later and they just took the car in. It is not overly busy btw. I am happy to get a new car and ensure this stupid lifetime alignment will not make me feel like I am trapped doing business with such a lousy place of business. Lesson learned lifetime anything needs to be better thought out. If this jerk is who a company wants as their point person then I need to go elsewhere, and know that if they are comfortable being represented in this manner than they probably do not have the business ethic of a company I want to deal with! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! This Firestone will ruin your car. I took my car in for a simple routine safety check and their safety clerk Kaea literally broke my door handles therefore creating additional expense for me and denying me my safety certification. She was rude and belligerent and when I questioned her about it she threatened to call the police. I had three witnesses that day and on hind sight, I suppose I should have let her call the police . This was THE worst customer service I have EVER experienced in an auto service center where service means destruction and additional expense. You will regret going to this Firestone. Mark my word. I have made a claim with their corporate office and hope to at least get the money it cost me to repair their damage..... BEWARE!!!! read more

Not sure what is going on here lately! They refuse to answer their phones. I think the staff is revolting against the manager! So I get there to pick up my Safety sticker...two people behind the desk...all lines on all phones ringing...no one answering. I get waited on and the guy tells me I should have called first. I looked at him...put the speaker on my cell phone...pointed to his phone...and said..."I'm pretty sure one of those lines ringing is me!" He looks at me and gives me the story about being understaffed. I tell him that he needs to tell his manager that due to whatever issue they are having...they just lost two vehicles that get serviced their regularly. He says "you can call him directly", and then disappears for a few minutes to get me the managers contact information. Anyway...will call the manager and express my dissatisfaction...but theses guys need to work this out before they go out of business! read more
