It's nearby on Wall Triana so I always get my oil changed there. Last time I took my rarely used 2001 RAV4, I was told it didn't need one because of low mileage although it had been several months. The guy ran a free test on the random check engine light anyway. The result indicated that the light sensor might be faulty. He reset it and said it probably would turn on again. Until then I didn't know a full service shop was behind it. Eventually the brake lights stayed on to run down the battery even when disconnected, so a family member followed me there. Just a few blocks away but all or none for brake lights worried me in heavy traffic. They were booked full that afternoon but checked it out before closing. It was an electrical/mechanical problem rather than a sensor plus it needed a new battery. I picked it up about noon the next day. Very happy with the price, tech service and quick turnaround with no appointment. The yellow check engine light still randomly turns on despite their advice on simple possible causes but it runs well without spending a fortune on troubleshooting. (Don't ignore that light if it's red.) My son took our Kia to another place (where he has a credit card from buying tires) when the check engine light was yellow and it sounded ill. He needs to use it for work so he called every day. They kept it for 3 more days before testing. Then they said the test equipment wasn't working! Really? He lost about a week of work! read more

I have an '08 Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission. When I returned home I wasn't able to put it in park. Engine running, indicator on dash showed it was in park but the lever wouldn't move out of drive. The linkage between the shifter and the transmission became disconnected. I take my Jeep here for oil and tire service and they always do a great job. I took it in and they verified the broken connection. The fix is a part from Doorman: part 14055. The local parts store sells it for $16.99. When the plastic part was replaced - about two hours after they started working on it - the bill came to just under $120. They charged me $29.99 for that $16.99 part... Upcharge was almost x2. I am an app user and had a coupon for $15.00 off any service other than an oil change. The manager denied my using that coupon - did everything short of calling me a liar stating the coupon - that came from their app - wasn't from their app. My history with this company is over. The replacement of this part takes less than 10 minutes: look it up on YouTube... The despicable upcharge is ridiculous. I'm all about a business making a profit but not an almost double the price of the replacement part to a loyal customer. Done. Adios. Chow. Hasta la vista, baby! read more

Needed an oil pan replaced PER THEY'RE REQUEST. Had the oil changed there several times but was told the hole was stripped so they had problems getting the plug in & out. So we ordered a pan online. Called & got a quote from Jennifer (she was great & helpful) the day before & called the day of & spoke w/Mike. He ask where did we get the oil pan & that it could be a problem. Cool, we went to O'Reilly's & got OEM pan. Brought it in & dropped the car off. We hung around the area, went to eat, ran a few errands in a Lyft. Waited, waited, & WAITED 2 & HALF HOURS LATER, we call. Mike tells us after all that time that he hadn't got to it bc he didn't KNOW WHY we wanted it done. BUT NEVER CALLED & ASKED. Didn't even look the car up in their system. Bc if he had, he would've SEEN WHY. Ended up wasting 3 HOURS for NOTHING!! read more

I will update this depending on how the situation is handled moving forward. On Dec. 30th I knew my 2006 Mini was in need of an oil change prior to my weekly commute so it was taken to this express lube. Up until this point this vehicle has been a reliable commuter for me. After the oil change when my boyfriend began to drive the vehicle it began to smoke profusely and make loud engine knocking noises. We then received a call from the shop stating that there was a large oil trail following the vehicle and to bring it back upon bringing it back it was discovered that the oil filter seal was installed incorrectly. They simply reinstalled it and refilled the engine with oil. After this the engine continued to knock. It was driven home and after a couple of hours when we went out to start it up again the engine choked and the knocking became louder. I now no longer feel comfortable using this as my commuter vehicle which will cost me $$$ in order to be able to use something else in the meantime. Since today is Saturday and they are closed on Sunday I will have to wait until Monday to resolve this issue but it does seem that due to this avoidable error my mini may be no longer, as it sounds as if the engine will may seize at any moment. read more

My jeep seemed off so I took it to the jeep dealer in Madison. I would have to leave it there for a day or two to get it checked out. My husband and 2 dogs only have one car right now. So I took it to express oil change and Tim looked at my tires and told me that is what I needed. Jennifer at the front desk and Tim found me replacement tires. I've been to this store twice for oil changes. My Mom lives in Memory Care which is nearby. I'm generally in a hurry due to wanting to spend as much time with Mom as possible so I'm focused on the "express" component of this business. They are a tad slower than other Express's I've been to. Also, exiting was a problem the first time, because I was basically going head on into oncoming traffic to try to get across northbound traffic and into the turning area to join the southbound Parkway traffic. On my second visit I asked them the safest way to get out and there is a cut through between the adjacent Burger King and EO that takes you thru a condo neighborhood and dumps you out on Hobbs. Good intel. I use the EO on Airport Rd., the one near Sam's Club off of University Drive, and the one in Athens. This store seemed a little more intent on upsales ("you need a cabin A/C filter, wipers, etc.") - I just buy those at Auto Zone and install them myself. Also, why is it that some EOs oil your door jambs and some do not? All in all, not a bad experience, and a very convenient location when I need an oil change when visiting Mom. read more

I was awarded $500 settlement by the courts on a $1500 charge for repair on my car. I had an oil leak. I returned two times because the oil leak was never fixed. I was told I would need to pay an additional $1400 to fix the leak. I highly discourage the use of the mechanics at this establishment! read more

I took my wife's car in for an oil change that seemed to go fine. Took it home. Car was not driven until the next evening (July 4th) when we went to dinner before her night shift. When I got home, I found oil on the driveway where her car sits. I end up doing another oil change in the parking lot of her work that evening and fine the problem is that there was no gasket on the oil filter. The shop refuses to refund me because I did not have them correct the problem. The corporate phone number on the paperwork just dumps me to a voicemail box that does not even confirm who I'm calling. Finally a place that hasn't tried to pull one over on me bc I'm young women. In 2017 I was 18. I went to another Express Oil to get an oil change on a Chevy Cruze with less than 50k miles and was totally taken advantage of. Ended up paying way more than I should have bc I wasn't confident enough in my car knowledge to question the mechanic. It was my first time taking it on my own. Usually my dad was with me bc he paid for my car maintenance. Afterwards I called my dad and told him it was almost $100 for an oil change and that I needed "special oil"... Let's just say my dad was very upset with that location. After that I went to a small shop in my hometown. When I moved to Madison I didn't know where to go but I HAD to get an oil change. I had to hype myself up before hand and pull my big girl britches on..... i also told my dad that I may need to call him if it happens again.( I'll never be too old to call my dad) Thankfully this location was so kind and straight forward. I even told the mechanic how thankful I was and he was so apologetic for the experience at the other location. I normally go here for an oil change and from my most recent experience, that's all you should come here for. I came in with an obvious oil leak from my valve cover. They quoted me a couple $100, then came back with a 120% price increase totaling to $1,200 because the valve cover was cracked beyond repair ( a max $200 part ). Never simply just say yes to them, learn your options, because their work is not worth $1,000. I did it myself in my driveway in about an hour for $150. read more

I've been to a good number of express oil change places, and almost every single one of them is full of conmen. They tell you everything is broken and in immediate danger of falling apart on the side of an abandoned road. This place just welcomed me, changed my oil, cleaned my windshield, topped off fluids, said that the only thing I really needed done anytime soon would be a tire rotation, and then wished me well on my way after giving me a rebate form for the oil I chose. Very disappointed!!! FYI the car has always been taken in for regular maintenance and checkup at THIS Express Oil Change for at least two years. This particular car has less than 65,000 miles. I noticed a thumping sound coming from my grandmothers car, went to check under the hood and noticed that the Box Air Filter was extremely dirty and warped around the rubber edges. The air passing threw was making the filter flop around inside the box. Should of been changed out many months ago. Looked at the receipt and nothing was acknowledge about changing the filter. Not one star worthy YET. My biggest compliant was when I checked the radiator water container. It was completely empty! I thought that the car might have a leak, absolutely not, now two weeks have gone by and the water is holding strong. This all took place 16 days exactly after it had been serviced. Express oil change on Wall Triana almost cost my family member thousands of dollars if not the whole freaking engine. She would of never checked to make sure it had water, that is why she WAS taking the car to Express about every month. Not sure how one could forget to unscrew a cap and look, but I guess it just wasn't important enough considering it is their job. Usually a person expects these types of shops to find every little problem to suck up one's money. I guess this mechanic (using that word lightly) was half asleep that day. I have never given any business on any website one star until now. Wish it did not have to be like this, but Express really screwed my grandmother over. It could of been a lot worse. Actually, I am glad that filter had an issue or I would of never opened the hood and looked at the radiator container. I thought Express had her back and did a good job. Man was I fooled! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice sham on me. There will not be a second time. We can find another place to give our money too. I would to personally like to thank Mike. Who was a great help in my time of need. After my car was bleeding AC fluid I didn't know what to do. This happened shortly after I got a oil change at pep boys. They were going to charge me the $35 to look at it but since they were able to visually see where the leak was they didn't charge me anything at all!! They advised me due to the model of my vehicle that when changing the oil were the mechanic has reached to do the oil change they can damage this part. I'm going to take it back over to Pep Boys and have them fix the problem they created but Express Oil Change & Tire listens and I will always be customer after a day like today. read more

Yes you here the horror stories of them not tightening the oil filter or oil cap. They didn't put on my oil cap. Blew oil all over my engine. After my oil pressure light came on went to the Ford dealer. I will never come back again. On a positive note they did own it and only refunded what I paid to the ford dealer (not what I paid them) and they are cleaning the engine. read more

Hands down, the best customer service in the Huntsville/Madison area. My wife and I have had our oil changed their numerous times. Everytime, the staff are very friendly and are happy to be at work. Service tech advised they did not have ANY Castrol. Service tech did not ask for my contact information; however, reflected contact information for "Na Na" in "La La land" on my invoice. Service tech advised that I would get a "first-timer" discount, but my invoice reflected a higher price than originally quoted. Worst customer service ever! I pulled in and an attendant started walking toward my car, then stops and goes back to work but I still sat there and waited. Then, after 10 minutes when other cars pulled in the attendant proceeded to see why every other car pulled in besides mine. I had to honk my horn and flag the attendant down only for him to tell my I needed to go to the building in the back for tire service. I will never go here again!!!!! I used to frequent this business in Birmingham and never had anything but great experiences but this is unacceptable. I can't always check its tire pressure but the staff always works it in during my visits. This particular store has set a very high standard for customer service; for me, they did a great job and continue to maintain this standard.
