This place is ridiculous you wanna walk into a place to get tires to keep your family safe, but no you get a car salesmen pitch about having this added to your service and that, I just want to have new tires and that's it! I'm not a negative yelper but this definitely earned the BAD star. I've brought my car to this place on separate occasions from simple oil changes to regular maintenance on my happy honda. The manager: Daniel behind the desk seems like he's guessing whenever you're trying to explain your car problem to him. He's always giving some b.s. excuse why the cars aren't ready or even completed by the time they say it should. I even noticed that he speaks to his female customers WAYYYY different than their male customers. Ex: I dropped off my car at 7am to get oil changed, tires rotated, and alignment. I didn't hear from them all day, I figured shoot 8 hours while I'm at work it should be complete by 4pm when I get off work. When I get there, it's STILL sitting where I parked it. I asked why wasn't it done, or not even a call that they were backed up, I told him that morning I needed my car so I could pick up my kids from daycare at the end of the day - 8 hours especially when I'm told its a no problem job should be completed BY 4pm. Another problem, I came in explaining my car was "loosing power" Daniel tells me it sounds like the timing belts. After 5 hours he calls me that I can change my belts but eventually I'll need to change my water pump. For me, IM NOT CAR SAVVY -- I'd like someone who knows what they're doing to suggest an economical solution but this douche bag says yea just change the belts that costs $500, a month and a half later guess what the pump needs to be replaced but it ONLY comes in a kit for $700 MORE. and even after that my car STILL is having issues. Its like every time I went there something else needed to be replaced and didn't fix my issue. As a PAYING customer you'd get MORE business if you sent me along the route where I won't be paying more and more money and get quality service meaning have the work done when you say it will be not have an excuse ready for me. If I have to send a GUY with my car to get some help from your establishment then you're definitely a dirt bag auto place. Go to El Gato Auto off Potranco they're a small mom and pop shop but at least that mechanic talks to you honestly and he doesn't seem shady. Save yourself the headache, time and money stay away from here. Just come in for the class 6 or get your gas. Stay away these people suck major ass. read more

I blew a tire last night and was freaking out about having to buy a new one since I have a two day road trip coming up. When I went in, they reminded me that I had purchased the warranty with the last set of tires I had bought from them. The tire was no longer carried, so I got a better tire and just had to pay the difference. Brand new tire for $20 and no more worries about the trip! This Firestone on Lackland quoted me $585 for 2 front tires on my Camry! I paid $260 at discount tire. No thanks guys!

They are very courteous here, I needed an inspection for my out of state plates and they were super busy but still managed to get me in and out in a timely fashion and did so with a smile. I absolutely hate it whenever you go to a place that is busy and receive poor customer service as a result but these guys handled every customer with a smile regardless of how busy they were and did not try to sell me anything I did not need for my vehicle just to get me to pass inspection. read more

I recently made an appointment (two days in advance) for a safety inspection and an oil change for 9am at Firestone complete auto care store on 2250 Kelly Dr. in Lackland Afb, San Antonio, Texas. I dropped off my Jeep the day of the appointment at 8:40. (Twenty minutes before appointment time). I was told to come back at one o'clock and everything should be done. After planning my whole day around this much needed service, I arrived back to the front desk at two o'clock; One extra hour from the time I was told. The male worker at the front desk looked in the back of the shop and said "we haven't even touched it, our inspector guy came in late". I then ask "so not even the oil change was done?" He then relayed with a sharp "no, he was going to do it all together". After he told me that with no sign of apology, I then asked for my keys. He handed them to me with a short "sorry" and didn't even offer to get it in right then or a reschedule. After this horrible service I will never even think of wasting my time making an appointment or even think of Firestone as an option for any of my auto needs. Multiple bad experiences. Oil change scheduled for the first appointment of the day on a Saturday morning. Show up and it's not done until 5 pm. I went 4 - 5 times as I'm a glutton for punishment. They overcharge and recommend service that you do not need. Every single time I came I received a sales pitch of something that I needed. I put that on the review Firestone sends you after getting service done and then they refused to service my vehicle saying that they claimed I said they were fraudulent. I only mentioned the long wait and the constant sales pitch. I would recommend any other place than this. I even had a "life time" tire rotation with them that they wouldn't do since they wouldn't service my car. This place is corrupt. Makes sense lots of places want to take young military members for a ride. read more

Place is a joke. They ask insane prices for simple small jobs that take 15-20 minutes. For ex: an oil change is over $80. Ridiculous. Replacement of a serpentine belt: $90. They say the belt itself is $37, but I can buy it for $20 at a any off-base automotive store. It's a shame our military allows this place to turn a profit, at the expense of our personnel and their families. Firestone is an unhelpful and overpriced organization. read more

3 strikes and you're out. 3 different vehicles 3 different times every time they did not rotate my tires and told me to my face that they did. I put marks on my tires and take pictures of the location due to experience of this. I know that I am not the only one this happens to, people just aren't aware. If they're not rotating my tires are they even aligning imbalance and do they even change my oil?? It's a shame that they allow incompetent workers at Their place of business where some of their work could lead to someone having an accident or even death due to their negligence or lack of knowledge of their job.I will be contacting the contractor's office who is in charge of the Firestone contract here on base. Something needs to be done about it they are screwing over everyone. read more

Came in and saw daniel the manager to have a simple oil change on my Honda. My car was taken in immediately and only took about an hour to get a phone call informing me that my car was complete. I will say that Daniel could work on his people skills and pay more attention to the customer at the front counter. But overall cheap quick and hassle free read more

Came in at 1pm on a monday to buy ONE tire and get it replaced. The job would cost $180. Waited in the waiting area for 2 hours, i then asked when my vehicle would be ready and they said he was getting it in the shop soon. 2 more hours go by and i go outside and my cars parked in the same exact spot and hasnt even been touched. In that time 4 or 5 customers came in sat down waited and left before i did. DONT go here. Take it to discount tire! read more

A raining morning and being a lady I chose to use the dummy proof air station near the firestone on Lackland AFB. I began applying air to my tire thinking it would work. No signs were on either pump to warn users that these were not working!!! Rather than the tire getting full it was now almost flat completely. My coworker pulled up and I warned her that the machine was not working properly and maybe it was just the machine I was on. A few seconds later we had low tires. Taking a chance we went to Firestone to request for some help and if possible to get some air. Stephen was the team member that assisted us and was very friendly. Within minutes he had provided air for all tires and checked the pressure at no cost for the both of us. In addition, provided a free tire pressure tool as well. I'd like to say thank you and in my opinion should be recognized for being a helpful person and made our visit great. read more

Scheduled maintenance online for 8am and went to take car in. I got the confirmation and everything two weeks before and they said I didn't show up in system. If you aren't calling or going in then they don't check their online appointment system. Just beware. The guy was like there are five people ahead of you. Just called them to book an oil change and they told me they were booked up for the day but I could drop it off and it an appointment cancelled they could get me in. So I was thinking about it and before I could ask if I could book it for tomorrow the guy says well we will be here and hangs up on me. His name was Chris. Everytime I have spoken to someone at this location they are rude and not helpful. If you want good customer service then this is not the place. read more

Short Version: Please don't waste your money here. They provide great upfront service which is deceiving. They are at best well meaning guessing mechanics and at worst simply con artists. Long Version: I made this conclusion not based on 1 bad experience but 2 inexcusable experiences here. The first time my car is losing power and was weak starting up. They tell me I need a new battery and get to work right away. I am very excited as I am very busy and was happy to see I'd be in and out in less than an hour. Then I watch as the mechanic working on my car walks back and forth 3 separate times to grab a new battery over the course of 30 mins before he tells me he is done and continues to explain he was having trouble installing the battery and kept frying them when he put them in. Two days later my alternator is dead, I'm back there and they explain it as it had to be one or the other that needed to be replaced and they weren't sure which at first. They were happy to replace my alternator for another $350. Second I brought my car in for a thumping in my front right wheel well area which I figure is a ball bearing or something but wanted a professional diagnosis. 6 hours later I had to call and ask them what was going on with my car. The guy tells me I need 3 new tires!!! Way off the mark and I know it. I take it for a second opinion and the mechanic, in less than 30 minutes, is able to tell me that it is my control arm assembly on that side. Never again will they get a dime out of me. read more

The center repaired the camshaft sensor. The Sensor activated a few years later. The trusted mechanics at the A...o Collision Center said that the sensor was in no way related to the accident. Rather, it was the shoddy workmanship at the Lackland Auto Care which caused it to activate. I also couldn't get my warranty honored at the Ancira/Kia repair center since the repair was so shoddy and they could tell that there was "repair" work done on the sensor. read more
