Great Customer Service provided by Marcus in the morning in regards to a Replacement Spare Tire for my 2004 Toyota Tundra. Marcus found the tire and had it shipped to the Store. He provided excellent Customer Service as did the two workers who got under my truck and removed the tire. I am a Disabled Veteran and for me to try to get the tire under my truck it would have been a physical adventure. Great Work guys. THAN YOU!!! Once the tire arrived at the store, they mounted it and made it serviceable. Jason called me to come by and pick up the tire. Once I arrived he personally mounted the spare tire underneath my truck plus he had someone check all my tires to make sure they were properly inflated. Both Marcus and Jason communicated professionally and were very Customer Oriented. Everyone at this store seemed to be working together as a Team and their attitude was very Customer oriented. I absolutely hate doing anything related to my car, but obviously it's important. I've always trusted discount tire for my tire purchases and servicing. I've been to this discount tire three times now, and they've always been so polite and helpful. They seem to have a really great manager. The manager actually called me when I'd made an appointment for two new tires to let me know that the tires I'd got in the past were out of stock, but he'd give me the upgraded tires that fit my car for the same price. Last month during a visit to Discount Tire at 1604 and Potranco in San Antonio for a tire pressure check they didn't tighten the caps and I lost one. Today a newly purchased set arrived so when I had the tires checked today I made sure they were all secure before I drove away. Their employee Ernesto told me 2 of my tires were worn below safety standards and told me to go inside the store to purchase new ones. I spoke with Clayton inside and asked him to recheck the tires because I didn't trust Ernesto's quote. Ernesto seemed alarmed when I told him I was having someone else check his work and he went out to talk with Clayton. Clayton came back after checking my tires and said they all have plenty of tread. He said Ernesto's device may have been angled wrong and got a bad reading, or that it was mis-calibrated. I have never had problems in my more than a decade of being a Discount Tire customer, but from now on I think I'll get an independent second opinion the next time they want me to spend money! read more

Even though they display 4.7 stars, you are unable to read/write reviews on the Discount Tire website. Today, I went in without my husband due to a nail in my tire. This was covered under the protection plan we have. Jason, the salesman tried to sell me an extra full sized tire for my spare. I declined. I surrendered my keys and walked over to Ross to kill time. I received a phone call from Anthony of Discount Tires. He asked if I was nearby and claimed that my lug nuts were swollen and wanted to replace all the lug nuts for all 4 tires at $72. I told him I was going to make a call and get back to them. I called back in less than 5 minutes and got Jason. I asked why were they taking off the other 3 tires. He said they didn't need to, they were just checking them due to the initial tire having swollen lug nuts. I agreed to replace the lug nuts for just the one tire, at $15. Jason put me on hold. When he came back, he said that my car was already finished and the original lug nuts were put back on. I have never in my life heard of swollen lug nuts, neither has my husband, neither has my dad. And how was my car ready for pick up within less than 5 minutes of Anthony calling to quote me a price for new lug nuts all around. Very Sus!! I will hesitate on going to Discount Tires with out my husband. They wanted to take advantage of me because I am a woman. Do better Discount Tires!! Have some integrity! Just basing this on free air check. Thought it would be great to do with the weather changing soon. You can't tell how long it will take before ending up trapped in a NO WAY OUT line. The flat tire alarm was going off, when my car was returned to me, after purchasing three new tires. I was told the tires had been checked and inflated and it was probably bad sensors according to them, they then checked the sensors with a wireless device and said 3 of the sensors were not functioning. The next day I took the car back after checking the air pressure and it was a flat tire-it was repaired and the all alarms ceased, but I was given a car with a flat tire and was told it was a bad sensor - that I needed to take to the car dealership-nobody checked the air pressure!! I own a car with run flat tires, so anytime I have tire problems, I know it'll be expensive and I have no problem paying for good service but this is first time having gone previously to multiple Discount Tire shops in Nevada and Florida that I've had such an experience. I went to get my tire plugged for a puncture, and one of the guys took one quick look and immediately said, "No, that's too big. It won't work." I asked if he was at least going to remove the tire and check, but he wasn't even willing to try--he just pushed for a new tire sale instead. Since they wouldn't even attempt to help, I had them put on my spare and took matters into my own hands. I got a plug kit, did it myself, and guess what? Extremely disappointing. I feel like everyone I have come in contact with at this store, has lied. Mercedes quoted me $1,800 for new run flat tires. My friends told me to go Les Schwab but they don't have one in this area. I was referred to Discount Tires because a few friends have them and have had great experiences with them. I've never had to purchase tires before. I always trade in or buy a new car before I need to do anything with tires. I am planning on driving across country, so I wanted to make sure I had the proper tires to make that journey. My vehicle does not have a place for a spare tire, so I need run flat tires. I called on Friday around 3:00 pm and spoke with Jeremy. I took a picture of my tire info before I made the call so I had all the information for him. I asked him about run flats, prices, etc. He quoted me $171 a tire and $22/tire for labor, totaling $772 plus tax. I asked him for an appointment and he told me I didn't need one because they do walk-ins and the store opened at 8:00 am and could come then, when it's not busy. I came in on Saturday morning and it was extremely busy. I spoke with Jaden. He walked me to my car to get the piece to unlock the rims and get my car's mileage. I told him I spoke to Jeremy and gave him the information he provided me. We walked back into the store and Jaden was having a hard time finding the tires. He told me the tires I have on my car were discontinued. He grabbed Jeremy, and Jeremy claimed to not have any knowledge of our call. Then Jeremy tells me the cheapest tires he can find are $279. More than $100 extra. When he went to put them in the cart, those weren't available. He found other tires that were $299 and he discounted the to $279. The total cost came out $1,543.18, which included the tires, labor, certificates, and trashing the other tires. I paid this amount because it was still cheaper than Mercedes. He never explained what the certificates were. He told me those tires were in the warehouse and would be delivered on Monday so I could come at any time. I told him I would be in when they opened, but then he said I couldn't because the tires wouldn't be delivered until 11 or 12. I made an appointment for 2:15 pm and was told I would be in and out in 20 minutes. On Monday, I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early. I got in line and spoke to Adam. He told me he put me in the cue and I was immediately confused and frustrated. He explained how the cue works and told me I'd be there for about an hour, but the car is done in the bay in 20 minutes. I explained to Jeremy the need for the appointment and having to take time off from work to be there. I sat down, annoyed, and waited. Adam came back and asked for my keys and before he could say much, I asked to speak to a manager. He told me that he was the manager and I went on to explain my frustrations. He agreed that Jeremy gave me the wrong information, he tried to find the tires we discussed over the phone and confirmed that they didn't exist, and explained that he may have been looking at a different tire size. I asked about the certificates and Adam said those are the warranties for the tires. I told him that my friend said you don't need to purchase the certificates because the tires can be found and looked up by the customer's name, and they do repairs for free. Adam told me that wasn't the truth and that the certificates were the reason for being able to repair the tires at no cost. At the end of our conversation, he ended up refunding me the certificates because he said he wanted to make things right and apologized for my experience. I did not believe him, since so many friends said you don't need the certificates so I went ahead and called three other locations, one in Washington, one in Arizona, and one in California. They all explained that the certificates can be purchased with the tires and it covers the lifetime of the tires, BUT ARE NOT REQUIRED/MANDATORY, and if I happen to get a flat or nail in the tire, to just bring it to any of the stores, nationwide. So they added the certificates to my total cost, without informing me what it was, and then refunded it as if they were doing me a favor to "make things right". This place is so ridiculous. I asked Adam, the manager, if there was something I could have done differently to get a better result. I called ahead of time, I asked the questions, I was quoted for my vehicle and tire size, asked for an appointment and was told I didn't need one, then I get there and have to wait because I didn't have an appointment, paid nearly double what I was quoted... this facility is trash and so are the people working there. They are a bunch of liars, from start to finish. Once these tires are done, I will never be back to Discount Tires. read more

Worst experience! Do not go here !!! I got 4 brand new tires from them warranty on them in may 2023 a little over a year ago . My car then started having problems in February after finding out it was the tire getting worn out I took it in April 2024 as they were only about a year old and they told me they could cover it under the warranty as the tread on tires were not worn enough I trusted them and thought my tires were okay ! My car progressively got worse it started shaking and throwing the alignment off I went again today in August 2024 a few months later , hoping they could cover it now . We went and were told that now my tire is bald and can no longer be replaced as it was to far gone ! I'm very confused on how the warranty covers anything at all as these incidents were very few months apart ? I'm so frustrated and disappointed in the way they handled the situation I even explained to them I had just been there a few months prior ! Took my vehicle in for a slight leak in front tire...... no big deal...right? WRONG. never in a million years would I have figured you could botch this up. They said my tire was unrepairable (took it down the street to Polos right after and they repaired in minutes) they stripped the stud and lost a lug nut and never bothered to mention this. They said i needed a rear windshield wiper...they didn't know how to do it so didn't replace it. They will tell you there is a good chance your tire cannot be repaired when they haven't even seen the damage so they can sell you new tires. Came in on Wednesday to get a rotation and balance on my tires, went fine with the exception that my rear spacers had bad studs. Was informed that I could bring new spacers and issue could be resolved. Break all old spacer studs and replace with new spacer, no big issue. Came in today with all parts and walked out to watch service on my vehicle and saw both techs walk away after seeing studs wouldn't budge. Nothing too odd there but I waited and knew the instructions were to break off all old studs so I was patient, after watching people kinda come in and out working on it for about 10 minutes seeing they had issues I was surprised nobody came up to find me or even contact me about a pre benediction as dtc usually does. Walking back in watched my vehicle get passed up in service which was annoying but understandable because other customers were waiting but all of this done with ZERO contact to me. Eventually after another 15 minutes or so I was pulled back and shown the issue saying I need to take it to a shop, still annoying but I wasn't making a big deal they said they could put back three lug nuts and it should still be safe to drive. All of this was done with my almost two month old daughter with me and two hours later I was on my way home. Coming outside to check on my truck I see that my wheel lock on my right rear (the one with only three lugs) had fallen off and I was riding on TWO lugs bolted and I can only pray we're torqued to spec. Very frustrating having been told it could be taken care of then I drive home and find this. Never had issues with discount tire previously but the lack of safety and double checking on the right rear could have ended badly for me and my daughter, very dissatisfied with this. read more
