Arrived on 10/01/2024 mid-morning for a State Inspection! For my 2004 Toyota Tundra. I was greeted with a "Good Morning" in the parking lot and was advised where to park. Vehicle inspector came by and greeted me courteously and explained the inspection requirements. I waited in a superbly clean office, bathroom and waiting area. Went in for an inspection. Got offered a cabin air filter. I've been recommended before to get a new one, I would blow it off, thinking no biggie since it hadn't been too long since I changed it. Ruben then showed me the filter and its condition. That immediately changed my perspective. When I started my car and turned the AC up I definitely felt the difference, thank you for that. He had me out in under 40 minutes which is great in my book. He got me a good deal and even topped off my coolant. Great, fast and knowledgeable guy. This unaffiliated Jiffy Lube cost me my engine, buyer beware. I had my spark plugs changed at this Jiffy Lube two months ago and paid extra for the expensive spark plugs. Two months later a piece of the spark plug breaks off in my engine and destroys it. When I contacted Jiffy Lube about the damages they said it had been too long since I had gone to their shop, and they would not be liable for the damages even refusing to refund my purchase, they denied all responsibility. I later found out that this Jiffy Lube is not even affiliated with Jiffy Lube and is owned independently. This means if you call Jiffy Lube they will not be able to help you. I would think that if a service a company performed causes damage to your car, they would be liable. Jiffy Lube on Potranco does not think so. read more

Came here to get an inspection and the guy said we check filters and breaks. The guy took the car for a test drive and check the breaks and who knows what else. Anyways I'm used to blowing the horn , wipers blinkers and brake lights getting check. That said they did a thorough inspection and discovered my freon was low and a leak. read more

Came in this morning to get an oil change and have my AC looked at. Guy checking me in professional and curious. Was nice to get the up front pricing of everything....And even through the process the guy performing the service would come in to show that a filter was clogged up and probably need to be replaced...Which is fine with me. From check in to driving off......The whole process was maybe an hour or so. Prices were reasonable and comparative to other shops in the area. Friendly staff, I've taken all my vehicles here for coolant flushes. Three stars because the mechanic left his rag on my engine. Glad I opened my hood and checked before I left. Note: always lift your hood after work is done and check that nothing is left on your engine, all caps are closed etc. I brought the rag to the supervisor. I needed an inspection sticker, so I visited Jiffy Lube 3797 owned by Premium Velocity. After dropping off the car, I ate lunch, then walked back to the garage. 20 minutes later. The manager, Maxwell Evans, was standing next to my vehicle in the garage in the garage with the front wheel lying on the floor of the shop next to it. He said he was just about to call me. He told me that I needed a brake job, and hauled out a colored plastic key ring of different brake widths. He launched into a description of brake options. I said I'm not interested. He argued that my car couldn't pass inspection, and gave me a fail inspection report. I have been getting vehicle inspections of one kind or another for 35 years. In my experience, no reputable mechanic starts a repair job before authorization from the customer and vehicle inspections do not require the removal of the front wheel. I drove down the street and had my car inspected by a Caliber Collision shop. Not surprisingly, the vehicle is just fine and passed inspection easily. This is not the first time that I have had suspicious service from this location, but it's the first corrupt vehicle inspection I've had. I typically go to the Jiffy Lube on Culebra Rd without any issues, but happened to be near this one on Potranco Rd. I went in for just an oil change, and of course several other services were recommended. They also said they would ensure during the fluid services that my vehicle's brakes, transmission, radiator coolant and windshield fluids would be filled up. I asked how long the additional services would and was told 15-20 minutes. I was in a hurry, but obliged if only 20 minutes. When my vehicle was ready, I specifically asked about the wiper fluids and I was ensured that it was filled and so were the other fluids included in the service. Problems: -Overall it took me over 1.5 hours and my 20 minute wait was 57 minutes. -My windshield washer fluid was NOT filled up and was nearly empty! -My check engine light was still on. -My maintenance light was still on. My concerns: -If they messed up those little things that were blatantly obvious to me, the consumer, what else did they miss, forget or mess up completely? Is my vehicle safe to drive? I would not recommend this particular Jiffy Lube and I am now hesitant to use other Jiffy Lube locations. read more

Mike to the rescue. We got an oil change drove off to get a bite to eat car did not start. We called to see if the shop could send someone out since we were just there. Perhaps something not put back correctly. Mike came out to check the car. We needed a battery recharging. We took it a step further and asked them to install a new one. Took my SUV in for service . Alignment, tire balance and rotation. Technician left lug nuts on the front driver side loose then took SUV for test drive . While in the test drive tire/rim flew off and hit the fender wall and fender well. Manager met with me at the completion of the service to advise of the damages to my vehicle. Manager promised to pay for all damages. All he requested was two estimates. Estimates were obtained and emailed to manager, area manager , and division managers no one responded. They over charged me. I went in with my truck which requires extra oil and specifically asked whether this was possible to do with the Groupon. I was told I would just be charged the extra quarts and the difference in price of the blend oil they would use. Instead they charged me full price minus the $24.99 instead. In other words it was like I just paid full price like I walked in off the street. I returned to the location to ask why they charged me full price and the manager was less than helpful. I explained the situation and he said there was nothing he could or would do. Even after telling him 2 separate employees told me I would just pay the difference in the more expensive oil (not full synthetic just the blend) and the 2.7 extra quarts. There are several other companies on Groupon currently offering blend oil specials but I chose jiffy lube because of its proximity to my house and previous satisfactory dealings with the company. This was my first and last visit to this location. **update: The district manager called me and was extremely helpful. He has addressed my issue, was very polite and friendly. WORST experience I have ever had with any business ever. I came here for a simple oil change, and when I received my car back once the service was complete, there was a large tear in the passenger seat's leather, and my key fob no longer worked. Upon telling the staff this, they became very defensive and intimidating, denying all responsibility. I've had plenty of oil changes in the past at other places, and have had my car for 5+ years. No other shop has ever damaged my car and I've never had any trouble with my key fob whatsoever. I've since filed a formal complaint only to once again have them deny accountability for their own actions and damage to my car, claiming it was there when I arrived. As if I don't know the condition of my own car that I've driven every day for years. I simply went for an oil change and left with AT LEAST $500 in expenses due to THEIR damage to my car. We arrived around 10am, being the third car in line we estimated maybe an hour and a half wait taking in consideration the car in the garage just moved into that spot. However, over three hours later our car is still not finished ! We watched the employees standing around chatting, looking unproductive and having no sense of urgency considering there was 10 other cars still waiting to be serviced on. Told at 2pm 3 cars are in front of me for a vehicle inspection, each car takes 15 to 20 minutes. Not a single car was completed waiting for inspection. During the next hour employees ask patrons waiting in line, to move their vehicles so other cars can come in. One of the workers or possibly owner treated this place as their own personal garage and drove his car to the front and put it on a lift. I left at 330 pm and went down the street to portranco automotive to do the vehicle inspection. Was seen right away and inspection was completed. 0/5 for this jiffy lube place. This is a good shop with polite and professional employees. Using a Groupon saves you a nice bit of cash. I've had mostly good experiences here. I went in a couple of days ago. One car ahead of me in the shop, but took 50 minutes to get out. My biggest concern was a somewhat misleading sign and suggestion given by an employee. I was told that since I drive a Hyundai, I needed a fuel additive every 7500 miles. I declined. When I checked out the manual it said the additive was needed only if you don't use Top Tier gasoline. This gas is the kind sold at Valero, Shell, Chevron, etc. The sign and verbal I received did not indicate this. It smells like upselling something not needed. Makes me wonder about the other suggestions they give. That being said, the employee did not push hard on the suggestion. read more

I needed an oil change and all of my fluids topped. Well, I got the oil change and of course something else. Because when you go to Jiffy Lube they always have something to say about something else that your car needs. Meaning more money spent. I should have known that all the fluids were not filled when the windshield wiper container was near empty once I drove away from the "service". Three months later, no windshield wiper fluid left, no coolant left in the container and problems shifting gears. I hesitantly went to another Jiffy Lube to get my fluids topped. This time I stayed in the bay and watched them place windshield wiper fluid in the container and coolant in the container. Tomorrow I'm taking my car to the dealership so that professional mechanics can let me know about my clutch and transmission. I will never ever go to another Jiffy Lube. I don't trust them. If you're not there inside the bay watching the service, you run the risk of your car not getting the service that you paid for. You run the risk of potential damage to your car. I expected great service and received poor service and possibly damage to my car because all of my fluids were not topped off or even checked. My advice to anyone is to not patronize Jiffy Lube. It's a nice convenient location, but it's never the same experience. Sometimes you have to wait 2 hours for an oil change sometimes they have you out in 30 minutes. It's like a crapshoot. They no longer offer freebies to wash your car anymore, the top offs are at an additional fee(washer fluid, coolant etc.) I think with new management they could be better, but then again maybe not. New to SA from Houston and first time ever to visit a Jiffy Lube anywhere. I went to this very new location today for a wheel alignment and found it to be very well managed. Nathan has very good customer skills and knows how to put the customer first. Peter, the wheel alignment technician, explained the different points of the wheels to be measured in order to achieve a proper wheel alignment. Everything was done methodically and I like the idea that all of the diagnostic equipment, lift, and other machinery were brand new and state of the art quality. DO NOT GO HERE! I took my car in for an oil change on Saturday & was told what needed fixing & what was good. Sunday I'm driving to work and my tire pressure light goes on. Next morning on Monday I hear a flapping noise on my way to work. My husband who is not a mechanic whatsoever notices the cover underneath my car was missing the bolts to hold it close so it was hanging -- this piece is removed to complete the oil filter. He brings it in to jiffy lube (the same location I got my service done) and they give him the ring around. First off, no apology given when told about it. Second, they zip tie the damn thing and say they don't have the piece to secure it on (the pieces the removed on Saturday and never put back to secure it closed). Third, after not going away about it that is when the manager orders the part from another location. Fourth, after getting the part needed and fixed they say it's done but my husband checks and something else was noticed to be loose near the work that was being done and they say they won't fix it but it wasn't lose to begin with! The reaction of the staff (including the manager) to our concern of them basically not finishing the job on Saturday makes me question if the $300+ mechanical work I spent on Saturday was even completed!! After all of that... not even an apology given. They didn't even acknowledge the fact that whoever did the work on Saturday completely forgot to secure and close what was needed to be closed. I've always gone to Jiffy Lube, but for your own sanity and safety DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION and maybe find another company to do your oil change and other mechanical work!! I usually go to two of the other Jiffy Lube locations but both of them had a very long wait that day. I just so happened to be driving down Potranco road when I saw 2 employees holding a sign that said $10 off for the next customer who gets an oil change. I quickly jumped at that offer! I honestly didn't even realize that this location was open yet. I saw it being built not too long ago. Upon entering the lobby area, I was very pleased to see how neat and clean the waiting area was. They offered fresh coffee and even had a massage chair! I went ahead and made myself comfortable in the massage chair and watched TV while I waited for my car to be serviced. My total wait time for a synthetic blend oil change, filter change, and tire rotation, was less than 20 minutes! Maybe it was because I was the only customer at that time but that was pretty darn quick! I was very surprised! I was also pleased to find out that they are a full service location so I will probably ask them for a quote on my other vehicle at a later time. Overall, I had an excellent experience!
