I am planning to get my exhaust system looked at on Monday. I have been dealing with fire stone often on for 20 some years. I have found their service to be dependent on the general manager of the store at the given time. In some cases I have been very impressed with the most cases have been very disappointed to the point of nearly seeking legal action. What I have been consistent with is talking to the general manager of the particular store before hand, reminding him or her of what the words on the wall referred to in regards to quality service. In addition, I also clearly state that if I am dissatisfied with the service work that I'm about to have done, that I will directly contact the board of directors of firestone and all senior executives first and without complaining at the store level! A few years ago I popped a tire, so I went to firestone. I purchased 4 new tires and a lifetime alignment for the car. My tires didn't last very long. They wore in weird spots and didn't ride nice at all, but they were very expensive. When I went in two years ago for an alignment, they told me they couldn't fully align the car, with really no explanation why. This time around when I needed new tires I went somewhere else, but went to Firestone for my lifetime alignment. I waited 2 hours for an alignment for them to tell me that there was no way they could align my car with me paying $950 for new control arms. That my car wasn't safe to drive. Now, my husband used to be a mechanic before changing careers, So he does most of the work on my car. When I called my husband to ask, he said, say "okay, no thank you" and that we would purchase the parts ourselves. The guy that was helping me was very rude. Telling me that I shouldn't let just anyone work on my car and that I was going to get into accidents because of how BAD my car was. When he went to put the parts on this weekend, he found that my control arms were in PERFECT shape and that I actually needed front sway bar links and struts. So basically Firestone was going to take advantage of a girl that didn't know anything about cars and put parts on the car that it didn't even need. Now I'm out the $$$ for the lifetime alignment because I will never go back and put my car in the hands of people that obviously don't know what they are doing. When I called to ask about this, the manager said that it was his MASTER technician. And that he has been doing this forever. To me, it seems like he doesn't know anything. To me it seems like when you buy a lifetime alignment they will do ANYTHING they can to have you spend money when you are there! They are liars and cheats... how many other innocent people have they taken money from?!?!? read more

I called about my a/c being over charged and asked a simple question of if they could take out Freon to even it out. He was trying to get me to completely recharge my a/c and when I was asking questions he was being very rude. Never answered my question so when I re-asked it he answered then hung up! Would nit go to this location. Was quoted a price on phone for a service when got to the store with service completed was quoted same price given on phone no less the discount of my coupon. They then proceeded to tell me we quote coupon price on phone. But NEVERstated that they were quoting coupon price on phone to me. So I figured it be less my coupon. Then given the difference back but never was told sorry ma'am for the miscommunication Just placed money on counter and then proceeds to tell me from this point in when call line we always quote coupon pricing on phone. I dropped off my car this morning for a tire repair or potential replacement. They were really busy and told me that up front, so I had to wait all day. However I got a very pleasant surprise when I got there to pick it up and they were able to repair the tire and there was NO charge for repairs. This place is an absolute ripoff. I took my jeep cherokee in there (2 years ago) and had the ball joints replaced . The work was done as well some other jobs. 3 weeks later im at my uncles (who also owned a repair shop, dont ask me why i didnt go there originally) and were looking at the ball joints, and he says to me: Weren't these ball joints replaced recently. They sure were, but the ones we were looking at WERE THE ORIGINAL JOINTS! I came back to the store and told the guy at the front desk what the situation was and how we paid essentially for nothing. he kept trying to insult my intelligence by telling me that lots of rust could be possible in the 3 weeks that they put those on. No. That is not possible . not that much in so little time. The service manager tries telling me that the tech who did the work 'was a marine and wouldnt lie'.--okay? proofs in the pudding, pal. Regardless they replaced the ball joints with my ever-watchful eye and we have never taken any more business to this shop again. AVOID read more

I wouldn't even give them 1 star, my husband is an ase certified mechanic who installed all new front end parts, one being the lower ball joints! I brought my vehicle in for a front end alignment right away, the tech called him and told him the car was not alignable and then we said we will pick up he proceeded to call back and offer us a discount on the ball joints then tried to say well maybe I can align it but now the tech is telling me the stab links have an extra washer that is not suppose to be on it. All red flags that clearly the tech had no idea what he was talking about as well as they must have damaged the car, so we decline and pull the car in to find that they jammed a screw driver into the boot of my ball joint and damaged it! I have replaced the parts and taken to a new place for an alignment! I will never use Firestone again I will also never recommend anyone to go here! I should have never dropped it off when I read the sign saying ase tech needed!! read more

After returning home from dinner with the family on January 3rd, I noticed an audible hissing sound coming from the right-rear tire. I removed the wheel and noticed an object in the tread. I loaded it into my other car, and immediately drove to Firestone, arriving at 6:50pm. I noticed their posted hours of operation showing they close at 7pm. Service Advisor 'Don' cheerfully told me not to worry about the closing time and had Technician 'Matt' check it out. The foreign object turned out to be part of a 'vape pen' that my wife ran over (darn Millennials). They had me in and out with a new tire in around 20-minutes. They went above and beyond, providing me with peace of mind, as my wife was about to go on an 800-mile road trip to take our son back to college. I've also been taking my company car there for 5-6 years and they've always been courteous, professional and honest. I highly recommend these guys! read more

If there was an option for zero stars, this place would get it. I walked in this morning wearing my scrubs after working a 12 hour night shift in the ICU with a flat tire that needed patching. After waiting 10 minutes while the man behind the counter was on a phone call another customer service representative came in and asked me if I had an appointment. I have had numerous tires patched at several Firestone locations over the years and never was asked this question previously, the service was always rendered within an hour. He then proceeded to say that there was no guarantee that he would be able to get the job done today. It was 8:30 in the morning and they are open until 7pm on Saturdays. Mind you, there were several guys "working" in the garage, they were all standing around talking to each other and not appearing to be actively working on anything. The lack of customer service and courtesy was astounding! I have spent the past year and a half risking my own life, caring for patients dying of COVID and this guy couldn't even recognize that perhaps this nurse, in full uniform, needed expedited service so that I can get to work tonight. I was not expecting him to say that he could do it right away, just that it would be completed before they closed. I wasn't even expecting them to mount the tire on the vehicle. After spending thousands of dollars on tires and service at this location and others I will never be spending another dollar at Firestone and will never purchase their tires moving forward either. Sam's club I came to find patches tires for free with membership and when I called they told me they would have it done in an hour even if they were busy. Went to have four tires replaced and things went bad from the start. First I had a coupon but of course the cheaper tire was out of stock to got the old up sell on a better tire for twice as much. After stating I would still like the cheaper tire that they told me they had when I made the appointment three weeks prior, he still was pushing me to spend more money on the better tire. Look I dont mind some helpful advice but NO Means NO. Then I was told that the tire I wanted could be gotten but it would take a few more hours then expected. OK thats fine I said. He was shocked! Thanks for the old time threat to try to get me to spend more money. While doing the tires the also do a inspection of all systems on the car, which is very nice. But just like a thief in the night here comes the old everything in the world is wrong with your car, but dont worry we can fix that for just another $1000 dollars. Iam not sure if these people are use to dumb customers or they thought I was dumb. Either way it was the classic Auto tech. rip off. Here is an example, $80.00 for a headlight. Now if i was driving a BMW or something fancy yes. But my car was 17,000 brand new. Looked up the headlight after leaving $13.99 to $32.00 was the price range. If iam spending $500 on tirers don't rip me off on something as simple as a headlight.. There were four other rip offs to this story but i dont have all day. Long story short don't use these guys unless you like to be up sold and rip of!!! I would like to thank them for insulting me several times. Okay, so I got my tires replaced here. They did a good job, and the price was fairly good ($450 for four passenger car tires.) However, my rear sway bar links needed replacing. I was going to do it myself and told them not to worry about them. They gave me an estimate anyway. They wanted $320 for the job. My mouth probably hit the floor at that point. For my car, both of the rear sway bar links cost $30 each. It takes maybe an hour max if the car is being a pain, but usually more like 30-40 minutes. When I was at another shop, they gave me an estimate of $160 dollars for the rear sway bar links replacement. This is a fair price. $60 for the parts and one hour of labor. So I have no idea where these guys are getting $320 from. I would assume that they way overcharge on everything after reading the other review. Conclusion: this place is not bad for tires, but I wouldn't have any other work done here. read more

I have been bringing my cars to this Firestone for years. Don has always been pleasant and professional to deal. Often even explaining the most economical way to get my repairs/replacements handled. However, every time time I have dealt with George he acts as if me coming to their shop is a burden for him. I have tried to ignore this in the past, but my last visit put me over the top. I called in advance to inquire about a drop off oil chg. Don was nice (as always) & said he had a couple slots and would try make it happen since it was a drop off. When I show up (15 min later) Don was not available & George was the only option. As soon as I said "I would like to do drop off oil chg...", he rolls his eyes, laughs and says "not today". I mentioned my call from less than 15 minutes ago & he says "don't know what to tell you but it ain't happening". I get places are busy and not everyone can be serviced but his customer service, attitude and demeanor are unacceptable. I drove down the street to another place and was able to get in and thankfully they matched my F/S coupon and gave me a 20% for a future visit. George may have cost you this customer. read more

I went to these crooks for an oil leak. They did a break job and replaced my locked lug nuts. $1300. Then told me to go to the lexus dealer to fix the oil leak. Went back a couple weeks later because I'm a fool. My engine light was on and they wanted to charge me $100 to see what was wrong with it. No credit towards the repair if I had them do it. I love this place! Tim and George are my favorite, they never try to sell me anything I don't need because honestly I don't know what my car needs to meet for every check up. Try are always trust worthy and nice. I will always come here before anyone else. After reading other reviews, if course you need an appointment, quit complaining they're busy on a Saturday. George went above and beyond to get my tires and brakes completed. Had 4 tires installed and brakes done only to find out the brake drum bolts were sheared off. George came in on his day off to go get them to get them installed. He kept me informed and up to date on timing. Will definitely be going back in future!! read more

Firestone in Algonquin will lie and scam you. Last week we brought our Highlander to Firestone because the brake warning light was on. Later on, we got a call from George asking us how long were we planning on keeping our car? We asked him what was wrong, and he told us that numerous serious issues were wrong with the car. This was very hard to believe, since the only problem was the brakes. George wouldn't even allow us to drive the car out of their. We wanted to get another opinion. We told them to fix the most critical problems, because of the cost. They supposedly did the work. When we picked the car up, we found that the hubcaps were taken off and they refused to put them back on, even after we paid $1,500! We previously had Firestone service the car, just 3 months prior to the brake problem. No other issues were brought to our attention at that time. So, how could all of these issues suddenly appear? My advice ... go anywhere else to have your vehicle serviced. read more

They are courteous, thorough and take the extra time to explain and answer all my questions. Nice tires. Needed a tune up. They took 4 days to look at it. They gave me an estimate that was way over what it should have been. Got rear brakes done. They replaced a caliper that was good. I replaced it about 5000 miles before. If you need more than tires and an oil change go somewhere else. They will add in things you don't need. And it may take 3or more days to start on it. After I wrote my first review, Firestone's corporate office replied and asked that I contact them to discuss my issue. I emailed them, and they said that someone from the district office would be in contact with me in 1-2 days. A week went by and no one contacted me, so I sent them a follow up and was told that someone from the regional office would be reaching out. When the regional manager called, the only thing that he said was that he wanted me to bring the van in to be inspected again, and that if they found that there were no issues that the tech who worked on it would be fired. I told him that I didn't want to waste a Saturday at the repair shop for no other reason than to help them out after they tried to swindle me. I had no incentive or reason to make bringing the van in a priority. So he said thanks and if I ever changed my mind to let him know. So he could technically say that he investigated the claim and the customer refused to let them reinspect the vehicle so that it wouldn't go down on record as them trying to get me to pay for repairs that I didn't need. He had no intention of ever helping out. Who in the world would want waste a Saturday to go back to a place that tried to rip them off just so that they could do an internal investigation in order to HELP a place that tried to steal from them? read more

Sometimes I'm in there a short time, other times I'm in there long enough to see what this guy does,,,EVERYTHING! He's from the front to the back and all over the place in between.
