After my second visit here I feel I need to share my experience with Firestone.... Specifically Melissa, both times she has helped me I have had a wonderful experience. My first visit she was able to get my car serviced (oil change, rotation and balance, lifetime alignment recheck and a complete vehicle inspection) all within a day. I always try to drop off because I know how busy it can get. She called and kept me updated throughout the day, and recommended services based off my manufacturer scheduled maintenance mileage intervals. I appreciated that she didn't pressure me into having these services done right away, but simply suggested to have done in the near future. Great! I have always purchased my tires through Firestone becAhse of the nationwide warranty and road hazard protection (that does cost extra up front but really pays off if you need a tire repaired or replaced at a prorated cost) My next visit was unplanned as I found a bolt in my other vehicles tire while we were on the way to the Zoo. Luckily, when we arrived at the shop Melissa came out and inspected my tire and saw it was in a repairable location (not on the shoulder or sidewall) yay! And it's free because I have road hazard protection. So I'm waiting with my two littles and Melissa kindly puts on a kid friendly show, awesome, and I am looking through the service window at Alan the technician and he appears to be spraying the spot with soapy water where the bolt was and also picking out the gravel to make sure there was no other holes. In his thoroughness he concludes that the bolt did NOT puncture my tire and puts it back on my vehicle and we were on our way! My husband and I took our cars in for oil changes in February & they only had one reservation for us when we scheduled 2 online. So we rescheduled, dropped off his car at the new appt time and when we were dropping it off, they had lost that one as well. We finally were able to get in and things seemed okay when it was done. Now that he's due for another oil change, we just decided for him to do it himself. Firestone left the drain plug less than finger taut. When he went under the car, his hand grazed it and it moved. He has lost over a quarter of oil due to this which could cause extreme danger to the engine. Then the oil filter was tightened way too much. Overall, not only did we waste multiple trips to this company, but they did a terrible job and could have costed us a lot more than just an oil change. read more

I felt very different this time because of the professional staff and their confidence of what my car needed. I wanted to express my gratitude to Kip Fraser and the Firestone team working on the afternoon of 07/14/2024. I was traveling in the Puyallup area, looking to move there from out of state. When I was about to head back home, I discovered a giant bolt had punctured the back left tire of my rental vehicle. This stressful situation was compounded by the fact that my wife and dogs were stranded with me. I entered Firestone highly stressed and concerned. Kip assisted me at the front counter, and after I explained the situation, he immediately alleviated my worries by advising what we could do. Kip inspected the damage and determined that the tire was too damaged to be repaired. He offered to reach out to Enterprise to see if they could authorize the replacement of the damaged tire. Unfortunately, Enterprise's service department did not answer the attempts made by Kip. After further discussion, Kip offered to put on the spare tire for me to help me get back on the road. The amount of attention and care that Kip and the team provided to me and my family to help us get home safely is greatly appreciated. Two days ago, I took my car in to get a problem fixed with shaking when I attempted to brake. After replacing the control arms, and wheel alignment, and $1400+, the problem still persisted (although I was informed that it was gone), and I waited to call until I calmed down a bit. I called the next day to bring my car in and was informed that I could not get my car in until the next day at 12 pm. Today is that day and now comes the real issue. I check in and hand in my key. I decided to wait for the car instead of just dropping it off and I am glad I did. My car did not move an inch from where I parked it in the parking lot (this is important) so I was waiting. I was called up to the counter and informed that I most likely needed to replace my rear brakes to fix the problem. He then explained to me why they did the initial repair and I did not believe the story because I did not experience this issue when braking, and coupled with the phone call telling me that the problem was fixed after a second test drive (from Ashley), my spidey sense tingled. He then told me that my brakes which were repaired on 11/21/19 were out of warranty but he would have them replaced on the warranty to do me a favor since I just paid $1400 two days ago. I initially agreed but then decided after thinking about the conversation I had with Luis that I was about to pay for rear brakes ($600+ quote already) no matter what happened, so I went to retrieve my key. That is when Luis attempted to tell me that he would have my car brought out in a little bit of time. I informed him that the car had not moved and the look on his face said it all. I told him I just needed my key and got out of there with my wallet intact. Needless to say, I will never go to another Firestone for service after this. They earned a fair share of my money of the past two years (brakes aren't even 2 years old and I have not driven anywhere near the amount of miles required) so I am beyond angry. I also called corporate to inform them of the situation but I felt that a review to warn others about the service "tinkering" that causes your wallet to hurt because, at best, they guess what the problem is, at worst, they are ripping people off. On Monday, April 20 I took my Chevy suburban to Firestone on Meridian where I left my shotgun shells in an unopened container quantity of 25 in the front console of my truck. I was alerted by Firestone that they would lock up my vehicle and put the vehicle inside on Wednesday when I picked up my vehicle. I noticed that my shotgun shells were missing. I asked Matt the person on staff where was it and she said no one had seen it. I asked the manager, and he said he asked to technician that was working on my vehicle, and the technician said that he didn't see anything . Not only are my shotgun shells missing, but also my overhead light that I kept in the driver side door in order to do any type of under the engine work. It was a pop-up light or I could just turn it on hang it up underneath the hood and work on my truck. It's all they are a bunch of crooks and I'm working to get refunded. read more

Get a call 5 hours later saying they couldn't get to it and they wanted to keep it for another day. When I was 12, my much older brother made me swear I would never do any kind of business with firestone. I was fully committed to this promise for almost 30 years. I thought visits to the tire shop were the worst way to spend 1/2 a day. I thought everybody who works in tire shops are 24 year old jerks and that's just the way it is. Heather and the guys at Firestone are the absolute opposite. I booked online and was promptly called by Heather to help me with my tire choice. My service writer was extremely helpful and I feel like he (Matt) should be applauded for keeping me in the loop and getting my car fixed and back to me within 24 hours. However, my vape went mysteriously missing while my car was there. On top of that my glove box and door compartments looked like they had been rummaged through. I dont know how many people had access to my vehicle but Pat was my technician and I'm guessing I am not the only one to have my property gone missing while in that shop. You guys came highly recommended from friends and family, but I can't bring myself to recommend you guys to anybody. I needed front brakes so I took my car to Firestone. They informed me that my rear brakes needed to be replaced too. I just had them do my front brakes and change my brake fluid. I then took my car to my local shop and was prepared to have my rear brakes done. My shop informed me that they had 60% life remaining and said no new brakes needed. Sounds like they were trying to get more business when it clearly wasn't needed. I will no longer go to this Firestone. read more

I took my 4x4 truck to Firestone in Puyallup, WA for an alignment after rebuilding the front end and getting four new tires. All I paid for was an alignment, but got so much more ... Being a seasoned mechanic, I could have done the "quick driveway method" of alignment but I wanted it done on an actual alignment machine to get the results printout. My truck has a slight lift from the previous owner and judging from the tire wear, could have needed different caster/camber bushings. Luckily, this wasn't the case. Despite being their first appointment of the day, with "no other alignments scheduled," it wasn't done until nearly closing time. No problem, since it was my day off. The drive home in the dark was uneventful and the truck drove straight, so I was happy. That happiness quickly turned into upset when I was greeted the next morning with a large puddle of oil on my driveway. Very odd since I had just spent the previous weekend under there, replacing all the steering components and saw no leaks at all. Everything was dry and clean. After a short inspection, I found that the front differential was leaking heavily. I cleaned the mess up and checked the torque on all the bolts. The upset from earlier quickly turned to anger when I found all 10 of the bolts were loose, with over half of them not even "finger tight!" I re-torqued the bolts back to spec and topped off the fluid, but the differential now has a slow leak that leaves spots on my driveway. (To completely fix this requires removing of the entire differential, which is no easy task on my model truck.) I wisely decided to park the truck until the following weekend, which was spent meticulously going through the truck to find all the other "surprises" Firestone left for me. Needless to say, I will never take any of my vehicles there again and tell all my family/friends to avoid them as well! The fact that a well-known chain like Firestone has resorted to shady practices to get repeat business is just pathetic, maddening and dangerous. If they have no problem doing this to a fellow mechanic, I can only imagine what they do to customers with little to no experience. **If you have no choice but to have work done at this Firestone (or at any shop for that matter), don't sit in the waiting area! Stand just outside the bay and watch the mechanic work on your vehicle. Hopefully the inquisitive eyes will keep them on the straight and narrow. read more

Went in on a Saturday to get new tires with new lug nuts all around and a alignment.. had my wife drop it off and pick it up .. when I got home the next day I noticed that only one lug nut was new and it seemed like they didn't even bother doing the alignment.. but yet my bill came out to 1,300 ... I brought my vehicle here for its detailed 100K maintenance - the robber barons at Korum wanted a kings ransom to do the work. I called around and spoke to a number of shops before talking with Kip at the Firestone on South Hill. MISTAKE - these guys are amateurs good for an overpriced oil change and some tires. Initially they went through the vehicle guide and priced out the various work for the job - oil change, coolant flush, transmission service and a tune up for my rig's (a rig is what we call trucks and SUVs in Puyallup - at least that's what the 'Bone' told me - lol) V8 5.4L engine. The price was reasonable after hearing what King Korum demanded. So I make an appt and drop my car off, Thinking I will come back tomorrow to get the car but before I can give Kip the key he sez "does the transmission have any issues at all?" And I say, well it's ten years old and takes a second before slipping into reverse and he's like "oh we can't service your transmission - take it to A Plus on 152nd Street." And then he sez "but we can clean your injectors for $100". Which isnt much more than simply cleaning the engine by dumping an additive in the fuel. But I'm hear and whatevs so ok. Then he calls me 5 hours later and sez he can't do the tune up bcuz the spark plugs are too hard to take out. Usually you'l soak the plugs in oil penetrator overnight and remove them first thing in the morning on a cold engine. But they didn't even try that. So what did they do? The EASY stuff. Then called or said the hard stuff was too hard. Completely wasting my time. I called Goodyear across the street and they're like "NP". Worse yet - Kip calls and tries to cross-sell me on an alignment bcuz I have new tires (huh?) and a new serpentine belt cuz I have a couple of nicks in it (yeh rite). Long story short - don't waste your time here - go see Jerry at Goodyear across the street- their prices are fair and without the BS. read more

Took my company vehicle to have an oil change done. Our vehicles are managed by Fleet Services. We had a new van that was not on file, so we called Fleet had it added, they called Firestone and let them know it was covered. I think everything is fine. We go to pick up the van later and I get told they did not service the van because they could not process the Fleet info until the next day, irritated, but fine. Next day, show up to get my van, not serviced again because something didn't match with Fleet??? Ok, did you want to call me?? Or call Fleet?? Nothing, just a big waste of two days!!!! Beyond irritated, we will not be back for service and I will make sure to spread the word to the rest of our locations to avoid Firestone due to a lack of communication. Yesterday I took my car to a different place to get a quote for my brakes, where they quoted me $1100 for all the work that had to be done. I brought my car to Firestone today for a second opinion & my new quote is $540. Definitely happy that they didn't feel the need to quote me unnecessary things & saving me about $600. They also let me know that they were busy & wouldn't be able to look at my car until about 3-4pm which I said was fine. However, it's about 12pm & I got a call that they can already start working on it! Definitely happy with this place. read more

I will never go to Firestone ever again, and I recommend that you dont either. I took my car to this location, and shortly after I left my car starting making this slight grinding sound. I couldnt figure out what it was, and a few days later it ended up breaking multiple components of my car. I submitted a claim, and immediately started being bullied by the person handling the claim. It was obvious he was trying to push me into admitting fault, accusing me the entire time of breaking it myself and trying to get money from them. He said they would have an inspector to come look at the damages, and that he would be in contact with me. It took weeks for the inspector to reach out to me and set up an appointment, this whole time Im without a car. When the inspector finally comes and looks at my car, he spends about 40 minutes inspecting and talking to me about how he feels it was firestones fault, he also pointed out multiple flaws that contradict what firestone claims. He leaves, and i dont hear anything for weeks again, still I am without a car. Eventually I get an email saying my claim was denied without any actual reason why. I text the inspector asking if I could call him when he has a chance, he asks who is texting, and after I tell him who I am he never responds again. Ive since tried calling him multiple times, and it goes straight to voicemail, but not on any other phones. Im suspecting he got some kind of pay out to lie about the inspection, and then blocked my phone number. Firestone, and the inspector, are very shady and untrustworthy. The claims department has the worst service ive ever experienced before. My case has still not been resolved and Im still having to pay for the damages out of my pocket. Yesterday, another outfit looked at my brakes and told me I needed front brake pads and rotors and they quoted over $275.00 for parts and labor. Today, I took my car to Firestone who said that while my brake pads were worn they didn't need replacing just yet. They showed me a gauge demonstrating the thickness of new brake pads as compared to partially and fully worn pads. They said they could change them now for $140.00 (and never mentioned the need for replacement rotors) but explained I could easily get more mileage from the pads before they needed to be replaced. They also explained the lifetime warranty redeemable nationwide. I paid the $9.99 (plus tax) inspection fee (which is 2/3 less expensive than PepBoys' fee) promised myself to come back here for service. read more

Went in with a bad fuel pump on a Saturday. Great service in the front office. Unfortunately, they put the vehicle in the back. They did a "courtesy check" that said my 1999 vehicle was in perfect shape. Everything marked in green. My air filter, which hasn't been changed in 8 years is just fine. All four tires are of equal pressure and equal tread wear. My 8 year old battery is fine. Swollen coolant hoses are fine. They just marked the boxes, and didn't even check. They also didn't return the old parts. Over $1,000 dollars, and not even a courtesy vacuum like the lube joints do! I still have parts of the ALDL hanging from the bottom of the dashboard like big spiders. The work is sloppy, and shows that the mechanics don't care about the customers or their own work. This is at a rate of approx. $115.00 an hour. Now, the highest price I could find for the fuel pump was about $190.00. This shop charged me $475.00 for the part, plus "shop supplies". Be careful here, and have their work checked out by a competent mechanic. read more

Cheap after market parts - huge mark-up. Had a window motor problem. Took it to these guys and unknown to me, they used a cheap, after-market, substandard part and now it has the same problem. Took it to another mechanic and he showed me the piece of junk motor they put in. Of course they also over charged me on the repair to include a large mark-up on the part. Why didn't they use an original Honda part that they should have installed...because they can charge a bigger mark-up on cheap, substandard parts. This part is not even 2 years old and it's already malfunctioning. After being put on hold for a very long time I was promised a return phone that never came. Finally I spoke to what I'm assuming was the manager. This guy had absolutely no customer service skills and refused to help fix this problem. He was incredibly rude. He spoke over me like I was a little child. I had to raise my voice just to be heard and he just raised his voice even louder! I felt like I was being scolded by this guy! I let him know in no uncertain terms that I didn't appreciate his attitude and his attitude just got worse, unbelievable! He wouldn't even listen to what I was trying to explain. I will never return to this Firestone again, especially after having to deal with the incredibly rude management. The bottom line...they'll do a horrible job, rip you off, overcharge you, and when you complain, you get the rudest, uncaring individuals who make up excuses. read more
