Pretty disappointed. I had 1 tire replaced and to match the front, they put on 2 tires. All good and i get it. What i am not cool with is that the 2nd tire which was only a few weeks old was not left as my spare and brought to a different location. So on Aug 26th I went for an oil change and ordered tires at the Hylan Ave shop. They did not change the filter right cause my vehicle to leak out all the oil almost destroying my engine. Then the next day when I went for the tires I decided to have a conversation about it and was spoke to in a condescending tone and advised i didn't know what I was talking about. The manager didn't try to stop it or say anything until I said something on how sexist his employee was. When I called corporate an area manager was supposed to call me with in 48 hrs. It's been 6 days and still not a word. Now a week later the STORE manager calls tells me his area manager was in the store and he did everything right. So TWO managers and neither one went to make a move or stop the employee from being degrading. Did NOTHING until I asked for a manager. Oh and he tells me corporate is there to support him not to handle complaints that they'll just have him call back, I made another call and was assured that they never heard of a complaint that has been bumped to a regional level go back to the store. Avoid. Customer service is practically non-existent. Been going here since 2016 but I must find another auto repair shop as last year I was advised I needed both an alignment and a repair on my donut tire in trunk; Meinecke drove my car with me in it and the mechanic said my alignment was fine. Good Year tire put it on their lift and said my alignment was fine. I spent a whole afternoon getting second opinions and I had to wait, naturally, so this took me hours to get done. My donut tire needed no work at all and no patch, either. Mechanic yelled at me and I yelled back at him telling him to get those phoney needed repairs for over $300 plus taxes, off of my paperwork yesterday. Very sad that, no doubt, corporate is forcing their mechanics to find non-existent problems and to bill senior citizens for their scamming. read more

Beware. Twice I suspected that a technician at Firestone put a nail in one of my good tires while replacing my other tire(s). If you are going to have a tire or tires replaced, do a precautionary measure. Before you go to the shop, inspect the tires that will NOT be replaced and check them again after you pick up your car. What you are looking for both times is to be sure there are no screws or nails in them. Yes, what I am saying is that I suspect that a technician puts nails in the good tire(s). I've been to this location twice in about 10 years to get tires replaced. The first was 10 years ago and the second was about two months ago. I couldn't remember why I didn't come back after the first visit, but I remember now - I found a nail in one of my good tires that I suspected was put there. I couldn't prove it, so I just never returned, until two months ago. I had a tire replaced and picked up my car and looked at the new tire and briefly over the other tires. There was a nail that was perfectly placed between the treads of one of my good tires. It wasn't in deep, but as the tire wears down, the nail is pushed deeper into the tire until it leaks. Again, I can't prove this, but I have a very strong feeling about this. read more

Beware!!! Do not go here for an oil change! They did not replace and secure the oil filter correctly, causing my family member to be stranded as the car was bucking and came to a halt on a very busy highway. We had the car towed to a reputable mechanic in the area that revealed they, FIRESTONE in Red Bank NJ, did not perform the oil change correctly and we were lucky that we pulled over as our engine could have seized. LADIES WATCH OUT. This place is skeevy for your money and will lie to get you to pay more. First time I went they tried to convince me my car battery needed to be changed when I had just changed it myself. It was at 100%. I played along to see how far they'd go. Tried to charge me $200 dollars for a new one and installing it. Went again because oil changes used to be cheap. Charged me $70 for an OIL CHANGE. Insane. Got my car back and the TPMS was on, checked my tires and they're all full but it won't turn off. Now I have to check manually instead of trusting the system. Super don't recommend these guys. I've gone to this location multiple times and always had really prompt good service. Yesterday was there for two new tires and the experience was not quite as satisfying. The individual who booked the appointment for me suggested I could wait for the car since it would only be about 2 hours. When I dropped off the car, that individual was not there. I said I would wait for the car, to which I got no response. Instead I decided to take an Uber home and waited the entire rest of the day to hear something from them. I was able to pick up the car minutes before they closed. When I addressed the 2 hr comment and that I almost waited, I was told that they NEVER make that type of commitment. Bull. I think I got played and did not get priority because I was not sitting there waiting for the car. read more

Terrible terrible terrible . The bays are dirty and it follows into total package . Our car was filthy internally with grease and grime when we picked it up . There was oil and filth in the interior . Apparently the mechanic test drove it and didn't bother to wash his hands or put anything on the seat . Also, the front of the car was scarred as they must have had it in front of a grinder of some sort . The paint was literally scarred with pits . Was really a bad experience . I would avoid at all costs . The bays were the worse I have ever seen in a car repair place . Apparently no adult supervision . $759 later , now I am worried . read more

Very courteous and professional staff at this location. They always take good care of me. Repairs are always completed promptly in a reasonable time frame (usually same day or next day unless parts are unavailable). Convenient hours. Very reasonable prices. They stand behind their work with lifetime warranty on many parts. I would imagine this warranty would be honored at any Firestone store nationwide. The parts are generally very good quality. I had a full brake restoration done (new calipers, rotors, and pads on all 4 wheels). About a year later, i suspected one of the calipers was sticking. They inspected and replaced both front calipers, plus the pads and rotors, no questions asked, no hassle, no charge. It's been a couple years and the brakes have worked perfectly since. I switch my tires between summer and winter on the same rims. Between the price (far better than other local shops) and the turnaround time, Firestone is the only shop I will use for this service. There is a VIP club I was automatically enrolled in due to my services and purchases, which entitles me to free flat repairs, tire rotations, brake inspections, and more, which is nice. read more

Took my car in because of a suspected coolant leak. They spent a few hours looking over the car and came to the conclusion the radiator cap was just loose. No other evidence of a leak. They did not try to upsell me and the total cost was $0. To top it off they were super pleasant. Now that's the way to run a business - good, honest, friendly service. read more

Took my wifes car in to fix a slow leak in one tire several years ago. I usually use a different tire place but this was close to work and i figured they could not mess up a simple repair. They called to tell me that the tire could not be repaired. They then told me that i would need to buy 4 new tires because of the all wheel drive! The tires were about one third worn - plenty of tread left. I told them to give me my car back. Then he said i could get away with only two new tires. I told him to give me my car back which they did no charge. I took the car to my regular tire place. They fixed the tire with no issue. That repair lasted for several years. Still fine up to when i bought a new set of tires this past fall - from my regular tire guys. read more

Awful experience here on multiple occasions (I'm a moron for going back, but they are conveniently located by where I live). I needed a special ABS tool to bleed my brakes, they told me they weren't sure if they had a tool that would work so I told them to go ahead and do the work if they have the tool, but if they don't not to bother. I even put it in writing and left a note in the car. I come back later, and they didn't have the tool, but they decided to bleed my brakes and charge me for it anyway. I had just done this and specifically told them not to, I only needed the special tool. My mother then brought her car in because here air shocks were broken, They said it would cost $1200 per shock to repair for a total of $4800 plus several hours of labor. Thankfully I stopped her before she let them do it and got a second opinion, turn out all that needed to be replaced was an 89 cent fuse in to electrical box that powered the air compressor. The mechanic that found the burnt fuse said that's the first thing anyone else would have checked and even if they missed the fuse they would have then assumed it was a broken compressor (which it was). Long story short, they purposely tried to scam us out of about $5000. Avoid this place like the plague unless fro some reason you have too much money or a car that works too well. Stick with local non-chain mechanics, they actually need to do good honest work because without corporate sponsorship like Firestone has, if a local guy does bad work his business will fail. read more

Went in because another tire place told me the alignment was off on my car and they could fix it for $111.00 Called Firestone said I needed alignment and how much. They quoted a lot less than the other place. I made an appointment dropped the car off and 30 minutes later received a call from Kevin who told me the car wasn't out of alignment and there was nothing wrong with the alignment. It is nice to find a trust worthy establishment. All my future car work will be done by them. read more

The place is clean, but the service is very suspect. They did NOT fix my car properly the first time around so I went back to get the original problem corrected, and then again for a 3rd visit to fix another issue (I *HAD* a Firestone Credit Card). Each time I went back, the mechanic(s) found another problem and my repair costs kept rising...to the tune of about $3k over a few weeks! Not to mention that my car had sticky goo in the ash tray and it smelled like rotten eggs when I picked it up... I won't go back to Firestone. Greg was wonderful the first time I came into the shop for an oil change and a regular maintenance check up. I was excited to have a place so close to my home to bring my car. However, my views quickly changed after dealing with Joe. I had an issue with my car but was traveling for work mid-week. I called on a Tuesday to make an appointment for when I returned on Friday. He told me to bring the car first thing on Friday and I would get in with no appointment. I showed up when they opened on Friday and Joe said the day was full with appointments so they could not see me. I then had to leave my car there over the weekend leaving me car less for the weekend, when it could have been fixed on the Friday if Joe would have just made me an appointment on Tuesday. I was willing to overlook this one instance of poor customer service, but then when I tried to make an appointment for my tire to be looked at, Joe, kept insisting that it was losing air because of the cold weather and just had his team keep refilling the tire instead of looking at it. I am not a car person so trusted what he said, especially when he made me feel very silly for not knowing this. After having to fill the tire four more times since then, I knew the cold weather was not the case. I brought my car to Middletown and they found that the rubber casing around the valve was the issue as it was torn and this was reason why the tire kept losing air. Middletown is about 10 minutes further for me to drive, but I will continue to bring my car here because they provide great customer service and LISTEN to their customers. read more

Am I really the first to review this place? I guess it's on par with other Firestones. I'd recommend coming here only if you know exactly what you need, like getting new tires. This is NOT the place to have unknown car issues diagnosed. My wife gets Firestone coupons in the mail, and has come here 3x in the past 2 years... I believe this will stop. She once had a situation where the rear passenger wheel would "clank" when going over bumps. Hundreds of dollars and days later, we left with the issue unresolved. Now, they did give us a huge discount for all the stuff they replaced, but we're not really sure if we actually needed any of it. We took the car to another place who did something simple, like tightening brake screws, and the problem went away. This place is hit or miss, you have some good mechanics here for sure, and you have some nice customer services guys mixed in with some really unprofessional ones (visibly frustrated and impatient). The place is busy, so I guess that says something. Parking is VERY limited. read more

I had taken my car to Firestone in Red Bank right after I bought it as my old mechanic did not work on that type of car.. $1200 later I was on the road, it was a used car so I wasn't too upset about having to have work done..a few months later car stopped brought it back it needed a water pump, o.k. we fixed that.. couple of weeks later trouble again... mass air flow sensor.. and on and on.............it seemed every time one problem was fixed another one would crop up a few weeks later.. until this last time when they told i needed a $1250 catalytic convertor! I couldn't afford it so brought it home.. a friend of mine who's partner is a mechanic said he would take a look at it.............it needed an ignition coil............nothing more !! I was beginning to have my doubts over the past few months that i was being treated fairly.........well now I KNOW for sure i wasn't .. to think that someone would take advantage like that is beyond me.........so would I recommend firestone???????????? nope not unless you like giving money away... which I did for a while.........I feel like a fool now.........but lesson learned............NEVER AGAIN read more
