I have taken my truck there several times for an oil change. They had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. You, pay a little more, but they use synthetic oil and you don't have to come back for 5 or 6 months. read more

I needed to find a way to get my hood open (some cable snapped) anyway I went to them on a Tuesday and they told me to drop it off Wednesday morning which I did. They did end up finding a solution to my problem however it was after about 6 hours of waiting, anyway they were flexible with me as someone who just moved to the area and needed a thing fixed, they didn't even charge me as much as I anticipated, which almost made up for the 6-hour wait. To make a long story short I would go back again and ask for Thomas (he seemed like the most honest one there) but I would plan better as to not wait 6 hours. read more

Set up an appointment online (that was confirmed) to replace ONE tire. Three and a half hours later and I'm still waiting. Guess I should have passed on the warranty alignment which likely wasn't done right a year ago. If I didn't need to match the other three tires with 10K miles on them, I would have gone elsewhere. I have gotten tires from this place for the last 2-3 years, only because they seem to be the only place in town that has them in stock. I even buy the insurance for them. Monday of this week one of my tires was slowly losing air. I took it to a different tire business because I no longer trust Firestone. They dunked my tire and did an extensive search and could not find any reason for the tire losing air. They thought it could be the valve stem. I made an appointment to take it to Firestone and had my dad take it (again, I don't trust them). They called to say it was a nail in the side wall of the tire. This is the 3rd time they have told me one of my tires is bad due to a nail in the sidewall. My dad asked to see the tire when he picked it up and the nail looked brand new, still shiny. He asked why the other tire business wouldn't have found the nail and the Firestone employee acted shocked and offended. I have filled up that tire with air every day this week. I would have noticed a nail. So would other businesses. It's a scam to get you to buy new tires and I'm sick about how many people they probably do this to. I wonder if they get bonuses based on tire sales? I will NEVER take my car back here. read more

If i could give a 0 star rating i would. What is the point of setting apointments if the car wont be worked on at that time. Dropped off for new tires and an oil change at 8a.m. and almost 6hrs later when i went by the car was sitting in the same exact spot it was when i dropped it off this morning. I'm amazed that this Firestone location has such a low rating. From everyone I talked to on the phone, to the people inside the shop and the quality of work, I experienced nothing but professionalism and friendly staff. They even went above and beyond by fixing a pricing issue that was in no way their fault. I took my car in for an alignment, which they said couldn't be performed because my car's rack and pinion was bent. They also told me that one of my front rims was bent as well. I got a second opinion. The rack and pinion and the front rim were all perfectly fine. The cause of the wobble/wander was a blown belt, causing a bulge in the tire that they said had a bent rim. I am building my car, and rebuilt the whole front end suspension on my car, brand new everything exceot k member, took it here for a front end alignment, and got it back and it still pulled to the left, and when i put it up on jackstands last may, the brand new strut, less than 100 miles on it on the driver's side was broke! Emailed the corporate head quarters, and never heard anything back! They obviously care about their customers, so now after i put new struts on it since the motor is finally done, i will be taking my car to hiller automotive and not this business! Very unsatisfied. Made an appointment and told them my air conditioning is not blowing out cold so they said I need an AC evacuate and recharge before even looking at my car. So i said i wanted them to make sure everything is working before they do the service so I dont pay for nothing. They said the service includes doing that. Sat there for about 2 hours and paid $170 to be told that my air is now cold and I'm ready to go. Left got down the road and it isnt cold. Called into the shop and was told that it will not be cold idling. While driving home the air was coming out warm on full blast. So i paid $170 for nothing, was lied to by being told my car is blowing cold air and it is not, and sat there 2 hours for nothing. Will never go there again. read more

We were so lucky to find this Firestone. We were driving from St. Louis to Chicago and heard a thunk noise when we stepped on the brakes. Everyone there was very nice. They looked at our car right away and noticed some loose bolts and tightened them for us at no charge. It was such a huge relief as we still had another 200 miles to go before reaching home. Although I don't live in Springfield I would highly recommend this auto repair shop. read more

One of my most favorite places to get my car fixed! I bought the lifetime wheel alignment, it has already paid for itself! Not to mention, they were able to fix Friendly Chevrolets wheel alignment mistake(the wheel had to be pointed to the right to go straight, constantly battling the power steering). Add that with coupons they seem to always be running, and it's a great deal all around. Probably the only problem I had was that their machine broke for alignment on the day that they went to align, it was completely out of their control and I wasn't even that angry about it, but they still gave me a decent discount for the inconvenience! They handled the situation perfectly, and I appreciate it greatly. The other great thing about them is the fact that I am a younger kid, but I still know a decent amount about my car, and they have never pushed anything that is not needed onto me to buy. The one time that they said something, was for coolant, and I did agree that it was needing to be flushed as it was recommended in the user manual of the car. All in all, I will recommend this place to anyone that asks, because you can't beat it! read more

If I could I would give this place a big FAT 0!! I called in the morning asking for stem replacement on my car. I was originally told that I can take the stupid tire sensors off and replace them with rubber stems. I confirmed this by repeating what the person on the phone said to me word for word. I asked for a price and it was settled. I take my vehicle in there after work and all of a sudden it's "illegal" to make this repair this way. Now I'm not saying they lied to me about it being illegal but if it was why not tell me that on the phone? I came in expecting to pay $23 a tire for the repairs and all of a sudden they "have to repair them this way for $100+ a tire!!" I am not expecting them to break the law and repair my car illegally, but I also don't expect to be mislead so that they bring in my business. This place in my opinion is not honest AT ALL. I will definitely be looking else where for car repairs in the future. read more

Unprofessional, rude and I'm fairly certain they planted open alcohol containers in my car??? Just want your money and will over exaggerate a problem to make you replace parts that don't need replaced (according to other car repair shops in town). Maybe I'm crazy, but I have no other explaination as to how the bottles got there and found them right after I left when I opened my trunk. Threw them out right away. Well whare to start with this two day boondoggle, stopped by to get a tire for my wife's cars and none in Stock. That's OK he can order one and have it here on Friday. I leave him the rim and let him know exactly when I will be in to have the tire put back on the car. So I show up at 710 and still waiting at 800to have one tire put on the car. He did offer that I could take the tire and leave and put it on myself. Well that's not going to happen because of the $50 charge to put the tire on the rim. Even charged me for the new valve stem that I marked before dropping it off yesterday so big lie there. Not an honest place I would only go here at your own risk. read more

I unfortunately had some car trouble on my road trip w a friend from IL to CA. All of a sudden, my battery and brake lights came on. I googled and even called my trusted mechanic back home, and found out that what is called the Alternator has gone bad. I got my car into this Firestone location, and explained the situation, where I was told that it would take until the next day to get it looked at... I was disappointed but it had to be done. However, while I was still there, they decided that they could take a look at it right away and I was thrilled. They said that the battery was bad, so they changed it and told me that all was good, and two young females knowing nothing about cars, my friend and I were back on the road. Couple of hours of driving later and into the next day, the lights came back on! I took it to a different auto care shop, where they told me that the alternator was bad (which I already knew) and that the battery will eventually die again if I didn't get it fixed. The Springfield location only replaced my battery which can not stay charged unless the alternator was working, so they didn't fix the cause of the problem and I went through the same problems again the next day. Friendly staff, but not so appreciative of this situation. read more

Awesome people with a genuine willingness to help with automotive needs and problems. My experience there on S.MacArthur was a unique one that had the opportunity to go south. As the work progressed, everyone pitched in, including the manager and salesman, so that the constant flow of customers were attended to, and the technicians were assisted when they needed help. I knew my vehicle was unique, but with the care of these people, I soon realized that I had chosen the right shop for the work that needed to be done.
