When I need an oil change, I usually just call the day of. Sometimes I'm able to make an appointment and sometimes they tell me to just bring it in! Very rarely are they unable to squeeze me in. It's located in the mall parking lot so it's very convenient to drop it off and come back after a couple hours of shopping. They get it done as quick as they can (sometimes less than an hour of someone cancels :) )and call you right when it's done. Quick and friendly service! read more

Making an appointment will do no good. Though friendly, they seem inept with scheduling. Brought car in for appointment at 11:30 not ready until 3:30. When asked what took so long, it was said to me that all I had to do was reiterate I had an appointment and that I needed it by a certain time. What is the point of making an appointment if you need to remind them making an appointment means a time commitment on their end too. Will not use again. read more

Jessica was amazing when I came in last Friday. She was pleasant, bright, and had a very good attitude in light of the crappy, rainy weather outside. She got me set up with an Alignment For Life plan and walked me through how it worked. I asked if I needed some sort of "card" to show if I were to go anywhere else, and she let me know all of the information is in the system and shouldn't have any issues at any Firestone nationwide. I set an appointment up at 3 for a flat tire they told me it would only be a few hours and they would call me back when my car was done a couple hours passed and they still haven't called and me and my boyfriend call before they close and they wouldn't answer and we show up and they haven't even worked on my car and it's just chilling in the shop and no one is there I don't recommend firestone it was my first and last time read more

I have come in on several occasions and are always impressed with our service. The first time I came in, I was trying to get a second opinion on a service the dodge dealership told me was necessary (woman at dealership by myself). Cory and his team took a look and it turns out not only was the service not necessary, but another service I was considering having done also was not necessary and the problem I was experiencing was solved by simply putting in two bolts that had gone missing. The savings in cost I received allowed me to purchase tires which I desperately needed. The honesty and open communication also caused me to stop going to dodge and to become a loyal Firestone customer. My most recent experience further instilled this loyalty. I came in to have some work done, and I trusted the tech when I was told some of the work I initially thought needed to be completed wasn't necessary. I also believed him when he said certain other components needed to be replaced. I was especially appreciative when the guys took me aside and showed me a valve that I could purchase very inexpensively and install on my own to stop an oil leak I was experiencing. The guys totally could have taken advantage of the situation and charged me extra for a new part and instillation, but instead they looked out for their customer, and this is truly appreciated. After firestone saying I needed a new rack & pinion for $1200, I was a bit worried that Honda might have missed it when they looked. So I took my Honda to another trusted place and had my tires rotated and my whole car looked over including the rack & pinion. The let me know there was absolutely nothing wrong with my rack & pinion. I wonder how many other people they have done this too?? So sad! If they wouldn't of tried to sell me tires that I know I just replaced, I may have fell for it. So glad I trusted my gut. read more

On our way home to Seattle from the coast we noticed out car was smoking. Thankfully this place was right off the freeway. We stopped and even though they were fully booked, they looked at our car to make sure nothing was seriously wrong. They checked everything out and found a small oil leak that our home mechanic will fix. No charge and super friendly! read more

This location has gone down hill. I've been using Firestone for over 10 years and this last visit was the worst. It took 4 days and me bring my car back 3 times after having instant issues to hopefully resolve the problem. One associate in particular was rude over the phone when I called to report my problem after the first visit and when I decided to just come in I found this associate talking badly about me to a co-worker and when I called him out on it, he continued to speak in a disrespectful manner and not allow me to explain what was going on. Don't think I'll be back unless it's for my free lifetime alingment. I'm not giving these clowns another dollar. read more

For years I have taken my vehicles here for maintenance. Today they changed my tires, gave me an alignment and oil change and gave me a great deal. They're always honest and friendly. Robert was very friendly and went the extra mile to get what I needed for the best price possible. I've had my brakes done here, wheel bearing replaced, serpentine belt replaced, and general tune up maintenance over the years and I've never felt cheated or worked over (can't say the same for other places!). Came in to figure out what was causing a whining noise in my TL and battery issues. After three different places looking at it and all telling me they could not find the issue, even though suspected alternator, Firestone was able to get it fixed. Cory at front service was super helpful and nice, and recommended the right services to figure out the issue. So understanding when I had to cancel an appointment and then were very timely when i ended up begging able to come.

First: called in to make appt, was quoted 160.00 for break job. Made appt for a saturday at 7am. On Saturday after dropping my car off, They didnt call to give me an estimate until 9:20am. (car has not even been looked at yet) made the appt at 7am so i can be at work by 12:30. Second: when i called to make an appt was told there were no specials. But after hanging up with them i searched the web and found a 50.00 off coupon. So you know, im thinking 160.00 - 50.00 = 110. 00 (pretty decent amount, give or take a couple of dollars) Third: when they finally called me at 9:20am with estimate i was quoted 160.00 for break job...which i was told already included the 50.00 off already. He told me a normal break job is 189.99 ( i dont know how 190.00 - 50.00 = 160 Lol He also advised me it was an additional 90.00 for a break flush which i was not told when i called to make an appt...nor was i told that the break flush might be needed to set up the right expectation. They are very pleasant, but i feel as though they can change the price to whatever they feel at any given moment. read more

Made an appointment online, it said my time was available so I thought great! I've always had great service at any other firestone I have been to. This one on Steele street not so much. I walk in to drop my car off tell them my name and am asked if I got a second email saying my appointment had been accepted. I said no but that in the email it states that I would get a call if that time didn't work for them. No phone call, no email, so I show up at my appointment time for them to tell me they are understaffed and can't get my car in for several hours. I have never had this bad of an experience. It's 10am you opened at 7, I would think in 3 hours you would be able to call your online customers and tell them that the appointment isn't available or at least a "sure you can bring it in at 10 but we are going to need it for a few hours." Customer service needs some improvement for sure, and they should at least be able to give a solution of another time that would be available. read more

My husband bought tires from Firestone. Some were out of round. When he talked with them, they said they were NOT out of round. Husband had to go to another tire place who wrote a letter stating they WERE out of round. The tires had almost no wear. Firestone RELUCTANTLY replaced them. Today, we went to have a slow leak repaired. The coverage said they will repair flats for the life of the tire. The tire is halfway worn. Husband was told it was too worn to be repaired. We'll have to go somewhere else now. We love places that HONOR their warranties, put the customer first and do everything possible to keep the old stuff going until is just is no longer safe. All this Firestone wants to do is sell, sell, sell. Then they don't back up what they sell. Our family learned a valuable lesson. We will NEVER buy from Firestone again. read more

Pros: Honesty, Integrity, High Values in regards to customer service Cons: None  On July 7th 2014 , one of the hotter days in Tacoma, my older, trusted Mitsubishi Eclipse broke down. Was able to get a tow fairly quick and the driver took it to the Steel St Firestone. This was after hours and the driver was able to leave the key in the drop box. At this time I didn't realize the gravity of the issue. The team at Firestone in Tacoma graciously referred me to Hertz car rental and was able to provide a discount because they have a close relationship with this particular business. It turns out the harmonic balancer (which was replaced the summer before at this location) had eaten through the timing belt cover! I knew enough about cars to realize this most likely was the end of my car. What if the engine was cracked?! Concern and worry over purchasing a new car took over my thoughts. They guys took it as a personal challenge, put their heads together and after several tries, were able to fix the car! New dealer parts, taking the timing belt and balancer off and on..I'm sure I won't know how many times. The expertise to which these men worked awed me. HERE IS THE BEST PART, Michael and Kevin have INTEGRITY and VALUE their customers. The parts were still under warranty (whew!). Dealer parts were ordered, the car was test driven several times and a challenge was met~~THE CAR WAS FIXED UNDER PARTS WARRANTY~~. As a single woman you often worry about being taken advantage of by mechanics simply because of a lack of knowledge, However, the guys allowed me to see the car being fixed inside the shop, they educated me on the items they were focused on.  This situation had the makings of a fiasco. If it was going to go wrong, it went wrong with this car. Michael and Kevin and the ENTIRE Firestone team kept their cool and were reassuring me the car would be running like new again. These guys deserve respect for the outstanding outcome!! If you are looking for a good and trusted auto mechanic, I highly recommend this team! You will be well taken care of!!  Overall, my experience at Firestone at Steele St was extremely positive. So happy and feel RELIEF at knowing myself and the car were well taken care of. My boyfriends car broke down while driving (3 days before x Mas) come to find out he needed a new alternator and battery. They first quoted him 900, and when he told me that I felt like that was pretty high. I called a few other mechanics in the area with good reviews and they priced a few hundred lower. I called back that morning to see if I could get a breakdown of the price and the lady I believe Jennifer assisted me, she went over the quote and said she would look into the rates I was given to see if there was something we could do because she didn't want to be overpriced. She called me back and gave me a new quote that I was very pleased with and felt was fair. I will definitely be a returning customer. Thank you guys so much! read more
