----------August 5, 2026---------- Lakewood wins again, the best Discount Tire location, hands down. Purchased HRE Flow 10 wheels on Jan 5, 2026, supposed to be delivered to Lakewood D.T. by no later than Feb 2026 (so a month later at the latest). NOPE... No delivery in Feb, then No March, then No April, then No May, then No June, then No July... until finally delivered on Aug 5...exactly 7 months to the day since I paid for them... YIKES. Suffice it to say, Lakewood D.T. and I both learned a lot about HRE Wheels. Oddly I bought my Flow 11 wheels for my Audi RS7 and it took about 5 days to get those wheels from California (so I assumed a similar outcome for my Audi Allroad). This time for my Audi Allroad, it took 7 months. Couple of notes in this storyline: We learned that HRE does not make their FLOW wheels, they sub-contract them out to a company I have not heard of or remember. But HRE does not tell anybody this. So, they make excuses month after month while secretly deferring to an unknown wheel contractor in TAIWAN, which is where HRE are made (supposedly). So, I was riding around with some MSW wheels I bought on Jan 3 from D.T. that I did not like and immediately wanted to exchange them for the HRE I bought 2 days later on Jan 5 thinking I would have the HRE in 5 days similar to my RS7 example... Well, 7 months later they finally arrived. D.T. did not charge me for the MSW Wheels on my Allroad (I offered $200 towards the $1200 they cost for being forced to drive them for 7 months), D.T Lakewood knew I tried to trade them in but HRE screwed D.T. and me on the MSW exchange. So, I got a REFUND for these unwanted MSW wheels (thank you to SAM). Needless to say, the FLOW 10 HRE are unbelievable ART for my ALLROAD, just pure Rembrandt's or Michelangelo's in wheel form. PURE ART making the look of my car just POP... Sam is the NEW assistant manager taking over for Gilbert, and is as understanding and polite as can be (this man made all the decisions after hearing the story, and so I thank you, Sam for all your understanding on this long-long-long purchase). Garrett is the real stand out as he helped me through the whole process, remembering me from when I bought the HRE's back in January. He helped mount my new HRE wheels, he made sure that the HRE center caps perfectly aligned with the valve stems, the balance weights were affixed on the far "inside" of the wheels "only" (so, hidden from view), the lug bolts and caps all matching as a couple were off, the wheels were also rotated, and finally he glossed my TIRES (just awesome). A PERFECT 10-stars... Here me DISCOUNT TIRE CORPORATE, you need to elevate GARRETT to a store manager, he is so deserving and I'm pretty sure you know this. As polite and knowledgeable as possible in our reality (thank you for all your care, Garrett...!!!). Honorable mention also goes to Eric for all his great care as well balancing and mounting with Garrett. Eric was also at the Lakewood D.T store back in January so these guys remembered me, which says a lot... I been coming to D.T. since about 2000, so 26 years, and these are the reasons why. Last year the Pearl Street store vaginas told me lug nuts on my Mazda too tight and I had to go break them loose then bring truck back which I did. Took to Lakewood store for flat repair earlier and they said whoever put wheel on did so incorrectly and I would have to go to a repair shop to have it taken off. They put the wheel on! Embarassing! These guys are amazing! I bought a set a custom wheels with tires and all new sensors this February. The truck those were on was totaled out by a person that ran a stop sign last month. I took the wheels off of that truck and needed them mounted on my new one. I thought one of the wheels was damaged due to the accident, but they took a closer look and told me it was just cosmetic. Their honesty is unbeatable, no other shop would have done that, they would have sold me a new rim when it wasn't needed. They got me in and out in a very short period of time and were super curious, professional and personable. I dealt with Garrett and another manager who were excellent. I have to put this up... My husband had a scary bacteria that put him in the hospital over Christmas this last year.. FMLA and WA unemployment got paperwork messed up and they paid my husband $7,500. This last month April my husband healed and was finally able r to return to work. We got notice that unemployment overpaid us and they mandatory taking 1500.00 a week . We paid $1000.00 to unemployment, $200 for our sons 4 wheeler $36.00 food and $50 gas for both of us this week . We have been scrounging.. The service requested was just getting air. He said he was unable to do it my mom's car because the PSI on the air tire was under 10, but we went to Les Schwab and they were able to do it. No problem then the guy tried to talk down on the tires and get my mom to purchase a whole set of four new tires which which was not necessary, so it does cause me concern since there was high sales pressure and sales tactics that they just wouldn't be as honest and transparent, especially since when we went to Les Schwab, the guy filled the air and told us it was not as bad as the guy at DISCOUNT Tire made it be I think he might've been new and was having high pressure to sell so maybe that's why he was so aggressively approaching us with his sales tactic Tix we noticed he also did this to the vehicle in front of us who was also a woman driver, so who knows. read more

was told by my son and others that this store out of all were the best in the business. So I Went in on 03/23/26 and told the young gentlemen with the lazy eye at the counter that I had cables showing on my front tires a day prior so I against my sons judgment I had to get a couple older worn tires just so cords werent showing from a mom and pop tire shop until I can afford a new set through Discount as I am on a fixed SSDI income . well when they got the two tires replaced the TPMS sensor was busted off amd wasn't balanced correctly as now the vehicle shakes my fillings in my teeth at highway speeds and never done that before and they wouldnt rebalance them . So after quoting Me $15 a tire to be rebalanced so that I can get my smooth ride back until I can get tires through them he said he would go amd check my vehicle out . He came back amd said he would not be able to have the tires balanced as they were below standards . I replied with so you're gonna send me away with horrible vibrations because I can't afford new tires and his reply was yes . He said he was trying to look up something to help maybe buying another set of used tires through them but as I stated earlier that wouldnr work as I am in a fixed income . so I said you're gonna send me away with the horrible vibration problem instead of just balancing then two fronts until I can come back for the set and He said I should have never bought the tires I did through the mom and Pops shop and I wouldn't be in that situation but I didn't have an option as Discount was closed on Sundays ! Anyways , if your handicapped and on a fixed income maybe this place isn't the best to go to until you are fully prepared to buy a set through them before they offer any assistance as he first asked if I bought through them when I first asked how much for a rotation . I went in for a nail in my tire. They said it was going to be free to patch it. When I went in there they said that they could not patch the tire because of the way, the nail was angled in my tire, low and behold, I went and got a second opinion, and the nail could not have been more textbook to fix. Of course, the discount did not hesitate to offer me a set of used tires, which I did not need because I informed the guy I already had two of the other tires sitting in my garage. That was the instance here in my last visit on July 24th, 2025 to the Lakewood Discount Tire Store. I had called in advance to ensure that the tire that I needed for my car was there. Once I got there, they stated that it wasn't. The tire was not very old and I was going to get a pretty good prorated discount, but instead of even considering charging me for it, they simply replace the tire for free. Let me give a huge shout out to great workers at DISCOUNT TIRE, in Lakewood, WA. The manager of the store, KELSIN SADR actually mounted my new Michelin Pilot 4S tires as he was the guy who could mount without scratching my wheels on my Audi RS7 as I had used the touchless mounting machine in Bellevue last time. He discovered that two of my wheels were slightly off on the balancing (slightly bent) probably due to hitting a pot hole with these LOW PROFILE wheels so he mounted them on the back, thank you KELSIN... He got me a $200 credit on one tire, yes only one tire, but that was 10% saving on my $2000 4-tire cost, thank you KELSIN. He helped my try and locate two new wheels to replace my two bent ones using Google AI with a photo on his phone, thank you KELSIN. He was able to get my tires in the same day and put them on that same day, thank you KELSIN... He discussed the balancing weights which I wanted on the inside of the wheel only (out of sight), he advised the balancing would be slightly less accurate without (ugly) weights on the outside part of the wheel, thank you KELSIN. Two or three of his associates talked and consulted and advised me, thanks guys... RINTO was one of the guys who was my first representative that took my tread wear and discussed CONTINENTAL vs MICHELIN with me, thanks RINTO, also Caiyan and Chris, and big Tom..!! We purchased tires online from Discount and they were shipped to the store. Upon checking in we were told they would not install our spacers as they did with the last tires purchased from Discount. The manager said he wasn't comfortable doing it even though the spacers are hub-centric. Annoyed that they were sending us to the puyallup store, they put our tires in the truck but before leaving we contacted customer care and I'm glad we did. They said it's company policy to install spacers if desired. I brought one in so the manager could "inspect" it. After a 1.5 hour check in, we headed out. They didn't exactly live up to the company slogan "Let's Get You Taken Care Of" today. We've been a customer with Discount for almost two decades and sadly we won't purchase tires there again mainly because of the managers lack of consideration for his customer. While on a day trip from Everett to Ridgefield we got a low tire warning. Our first thought was Discount Tire as they have helped us before in the past. Joe came right out and checked us in. He was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The store is busy but well staffed. The tires came with the car so we didn't purchase them here, but we will definitely be returning when new tires are needed. 20 minutes later Tristan brings our car to us and said it was just the sensor, all tires had a correct pressure. He took the time to show us how to reset the sensor as sometimes it may come back on after a few miles. I am always impressed with the friendly and helpful people at Discount Tire. Totally unplanned trip to Discount Tire. Noticed I had a slow leak somewhere in my tire but I couldn't see where from. From the very beginning everyone was so very helpful and accommodating. They found the culprit "a very tiny screw" removed it and repaired my tire. Free of charge! During these times of Covid-19 and not know what's open anymore I'm so glad that they were. Hand sanitizer all over, placed my keys in a plastic baggie which they poked the car key through to eliminate any transfer of anything and then explained that they wash hands before touching cars and immediately after to protect others and themselves...which I absolutely appreciated. This Discount Tire store is the most amazing tire store you can find in Lakewood/Tacoma area. They provides very nice price, and if you can find a cheaper deal, they'll match it. Beside the price, the service is AMAZING! Brad is the guy who worked on my Maserati and he solved all the problems. Because I need specific tires that match the size and speed rating, it's really difficult to find and they're all out of stock. Brad helped me find out a good alternative with a better price, and impressively, I got it installed on the next day. That's so efficient that he reduced the waiting time from 4 days to one day, and the tire team did a fantastic job on my car. Popped a tire had AAA come and look at it while also putting on a spare to get to the tire shop. They told me my tire was 100% salvageable, and there were a few rocks, lodged in, nothing serious. Took my business to the shop, about 20 minutes later, they roll my tire out with a huge slash in it and you can hear the air coming out. That was not there before-and I am positive. They took advantage of me, being a vulnerable, female and slashed my tire in order to make more money, and require me to buy a whole set of tires. Very unethical. read more
