This is a very nice range. They separate pistol and rifle ranges which is a little bit of a bummer, but it does keep the range nice. It is clean. It is also very well staffed. There is always somebody behind the counter who knows something about anything. That said, almost everyone who works here has an advanced knowledge about firearms and a beginner might feel lost. If you ask reasonable questions someone is usually willing to further explain it to you. It is a good place to stop by. read more

Fantastic gun range! Fully stocked staff ready to help you even when they are busy (which is most of the time)!! Weekends tend to be the busiest which is to be expected in this industry. If there is ever a wait for a lane to use, it's usually no longer than just a few minutes. The owners are retired law enforcement and/or come from some sort of military background. That being said, they can come off a little strong sometimes, but if you go into it knowing that, than you should be just fine and you can play into that. The facility is clean and kept. Their pricing is in-line with market value and they have all the accessories one would need from a beginner to an expert shooter. I've made a number of purchases from Firing Line in the past, and found their staff to be knowledgeable and courteous. Today was no exception. Floyd answered the few questions I had regarding a handgun, then processed the sale in a quick and efficient manner. He also spend some time showing and discussing with me a classic rifle, even though I had no intention of buying it. More importantly, I had the opportunity to observe how the staff handled a customer who, based on some of the comments he made, should not be buying a firearm, at least in my opinion. They spent time with him, answering all of his questions and showing him a variety of guns. However, in the end, they respectfully directed him to his local police department for them to determine his eligibility. read more

Last week I purchased a Smith&Wesson AR-15 from firing line. I am a USMC vet but haven't bought a firearm in over 10 years and knew general info but not a lot about the AR-15. I wanted to recreate the look and feel of my service weapon, the M16-A2. The two gentlemen that helped me made me feel really comfortable given my limited knowledge of modern day weaponry. In other words they weren't "gun snobs". Each guy was attentive to my many questions and helped me make good informed decisions on my purchase. I was shown a few higher end rifles but they didn't have the look I was going for and the salesman didn't make me feel bad about getting the "lower end" model. The only criticism I have is kids between the age of 13 to 18 have to have proof of hunter safety course or a firearm safety course. I did not have this so I had to take my son to a different range which is unfortunate because firing line is close to us. I appreciate them wanting shooters to be safe but I have taught my son the proper respect for firearms and I feel he is incredibly safe. Bottom line is you guys are doing it right over there. They don't know everyone who rolls in and out of there, thus the so called attitudes. I would be very suspecting of people I don't know with guns around me too!!!! I am not a novice when it comes to firearms, but I'm no expert either. I recently attended a CPL class that was attended by people at both ends of the spectrum. The Firing Line staff did a fantastic job presenting the required material and answering everyone's questions in ways that made sense and applied their answers to situations that most could relate to. The class is limited to 16 people to make sure everyone received the attention they needed. I was very impressed with how well the range was maintained. The safety procedures were clearly explained and their were several staff members present to make sure those procedures were followed and proficiency was demonstrated. While I was there, I checked out their huge inventory of firearms and accessories. Everyone was very helpful and answered all my questions. The store is not as fancy as others I've been to and I didn't see any incredibly great deals on the pistols I was interested in, but I would still seriously consider buying from Firing Line because of their staff alone. Pretty good place, nothing really to complain about. A lot of the staff seem to be of the "Good ol' Boy" variety that give a flamboyant person such as myself in a dog collar and nerd t-shirt a bit of an exasperated look but I've experienced MUCH WORSE in the "gun community" towards fruits like myself. My one major complaint is you can't fire a pistol on their rifle range. I usually go to one of their competitors but came today to shoot one of their .357SIG Glocks. Now at the range I'm used to you can't fire rifles or shotguns on the pistol range but anything goes on the rifle lanes. This rule caught me quite off guard and was very inconvenient. Young teen at the rental desk was very nice, as was the girl when I picked up my rifle there in June. As long as you only plan to shoot either long guns or pistols its a pretty cool place, much more diverse rental pistol selection compared to their competitor I usually go to. read more

BE CAREFUL HERE. Low safety standards. No training or verifying that range users have a clue. ANYONE can just walk in, print their name, sign it, and date it. That's it. First time here. Went with my son who just purchased a handgun there and had a free coupon to shoot at the range. I have thousands of rounds downrange, am proficient in several platforms, and enjoy safe training. As we walked up to the counter, a family who walked in in front of us were at the counter signing up to go to the range. I don't know WHY, and not sure why the female brown haired cashier asked him to, but this guy pulls out his handgun and starts wrestling with it to drop the loaded magazine. As he does this, he flags the muzzle at not only 2 of his family members, but at his own gut. THEN he wrestles with the thing and racks it to PULL THE ROUND OUT OF THE CHAMBER. AT THE COUNTER. While the employee just watched. He didn't have a clue what he was doing. He HAD A LOADED GUN SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE AND HAD NO IDEA HOW TO OPERATE IT. It was ridiculous. I will not shoot here again and cannot recommend it as a safe place to shoot. Scary. In addition, not one employee or range safety officer came into the range to check on any of the shooters during a 2 hour shoot. read more

I'm only giving this place 4 stars as it is the only official firing lane I have been to and can't really compare it to another. If anything, it'd get 5 stars from me as I have never had a problem with their goods or services. I have gone there with my husband many times to do some target practice. The guns we have rented have never had a problem and the service is very fast and friendly. We go back often to rent different guns or to shoot our own. There are two different shooting areas with plenty of lanes to shoot in. They are big on eye and ear protection (which is good!) and the area is separated by a small hallway. You cannot open the other door without the one behind you closed first. It is a common courtesy that customers who rent out the lanes clean up after themselves (the shells on the floor) and they provide the materials to do this with. Before being able to rent a gun and shoot in their firing area, you have to fill out a sheet stating that you have read and understood the information on it. As for the guns being rented, they are used guns and any problem with it should be stated to the clerk so they can check into it. It's a problem with the gun, not the store. Hopefully the previous reviewer brought it to their attention. All in all, this store is a good place to go to for practice shooting and for safety materials. I bought pepper spray for personal protection when I worked in Detroit and thank god, haven't had to use it yet, but it was nice that there was a place in the area that sold the specific one I got. UNPROFESSIONAL. When I first went I was happy to see how cheap the range was and everything, BUT when I went to buy a pistol they sold me one WITHOUT a safety! I NEVER would've bought a gun without a safety or even considered it. They were less on the gun I was looking for than all the other places I checked. Their shooting range was well ventilated and nice. They get down to business.... friendly, informative, & very precise. I haven't shot much since leaving active duty Navy back in 2011. I used to love shooting so the wife wanted to buy me a new gun for upcoming father's day next month. I was thinking of trying the Beretta PX4 since I was extremely familiar with the 92 & it seemingly had great reviews on the net. Dan "the man" cut through the chase.. identified the deficiencies & little pros of both models & introduced me to the Glock19. Can't wait to start shooting again. I really want to like this store, they have a great selection of new and used guns as well as a reasonably nice range facility. I have, however, consistently experienced poor service that has at times even been rude. I visited the store last fall to inquire about a specific used pistol. I located the gun I was interested in the display case, and asked the gentleman behind the counter for assistance. Instead of responding to my question, he continued to watch TV for about 30 seconds without so much as making eye contact. More recently I visited the store with a friend of mine. One of the staff overheard me say to my friend "No, I really shouldn't buy that gun, I have everything I need and can't afford it right now." The clerk then told me, without being asked or involved in the conversation, "'Need' is a four-letter word. You don't 'need' anything. If you're gonna say 'need,' say 'want.'" I regularly patronize other gun dealers locally, including Shooter's Service, William's Gun & Sight, and Firearm Exchange, as well as the various gun shows. I have never experienced service this inattentive and outright rude. Actually, I can't recall any retail experience this poor. The general air of superiority and disinterest I perceive among these staff is very unacceptable. I used to sell electronics at a major retailer. In this sort of specialty industry, customer service is paramount. One should never comment on a customer's private conversation or criticize their use of language: "You don't need a TV, you want a TV" would have gotten me fired. read more

Don't expect anything over 30 min. You will get kicked by the range officer. Takes 10 min to set up when sighting in a rifle.. I got off 8 rounds and was kicked out. Payed at 10:47, got in at 10:51, first round was about 5 min later - then was booted at 11:20.... I realize this is what I payed for but sighting in a rifle takes more time than 15 min of actual adjustments. read more

This place was recommended to me by a couple of my police officer friends because the staff is mostly retired/former law enforcement and I could get good professional advice. What I got was professional attitude. As a new CPL holder, I was interested in a purchasing a gun and signing up for training classes for personal protection and home defense. The salesperson, Steve, was very knowledgeable, but was rude, extremely condescending and critical instead of helpful - obviously, very intolerant of inexperience. Called ahead before driving an hour and 45 minutes from Flushing Michigan. Get there and ask for the guy I spoke with on the phone and of course hes gone for the day. The guy behind the counter asks what firearm I was interested in and I tell him. He walks away to check and comes back chuckling and tells me that they don't have the firearm in stock and it appears he heard me wrong despite going over the details in depth on the phone. I told the guy it was a long drive for me - almost 2 hours and probably $15 in gas round trip and he smirks and says well the guys old and doesn't hear so well. I have only visited this store once and I am kind of skeptical about going there again. While for the most part this place seems like a good place to go I give it 2 stars because the cons I experienced were much more impacting than the highlights. Pros: Store is clean Good programs Decent prices for an indoor range with rentals Ammo prices seemed decent for retail The staff member I talked with was fairly knowledgeable when I asked a question. (I know not everyone is an expert about everything but they tried to help and didn't BS me) Good selection of products Cons: Staff seemed disengaged: no one tried to offer me help and even though the store was busy there were employees on cellphones or generally seemed ignorant to the fact that there were costumers patiently waiting at the case/counter for help. (honestly just a pet peeve of mine, maybe they were actually looking up something important for a customer or waiting for a customer to make up their mind, the fact is I can only go off what I saw). Firearm safety! I was annoyed when I was muzzleflashed not once but twice by the person running the firearm rental counter. Once before the firearm was "cleared" once after. Also when the firearm was cleared is was not pointed in a safe direction and the clear consisted of pulling the firearm out of the case, and manipulating the slide: the magazine still appeared to be in the firearm just for further clarification. Now I don't know how the range itself is run at this location, however I work at a firing range as a range safety officer and there are always at least two of us range safety officers at/observing the firing stations at all times during operation; I personally did not see any range safety officers in the shooting or spectating areas during my visit, this does concern me since I have first hand experience with how dangerous ignorant, experienced shooters and inexperienced shooters can be. Also regarding the rentals, I hope they case the gun and or send it with a staff member to the line instead of just handing it to the renter I haven't rented a firearm yet so I do not know how they execute this action. Overall: I am not saying don't go here, I am just saying I prefer a much tighter ship to be run at my range. I do understand that they have a business to run and accidents happen but safety is my number one priority. If I am ever muzzleflashed again (especially by a staff member) I will be bringing it up to the manager in charge or the store owner, not just the person who was committing the unsafe action. Just don't do it I wish I had more to say positive but all the staff comes across as arrogant and pompous this is more of a clubhouse atmosphere in a way something to do once they retire and not actually a gun shop the shelves and product are in disarray and scattered they attempted to double charged me on a transfer and I observed multiple people requesting assistance being ignored while the employees just interacting with one another I have been in and around the industry for years and understand when shoptalk that's interesting but that is no excuse for poor customer service to possible clients the imperative.point Here is they know this and just don't care I have been told by other people who know the owners and some of the staff unfortunately this is just recreation to them I hope this changes as this industry is starting to get more competitive and new ranges are popping up all the time I will try and give them another chance but don't have high hopes read more

Went in here for my first time, to use the firing range. Not only was it a friendly environment, I was asked several times if I needed help. Sure these guys are serious and don't take crap from anyone... can you blame them?? They work with deadly weapons! For all the bad reviews that stupid kids/people have left......who cares. Take it from me.. and over critical perfectionist. I was well taken care of by people who take their job seriously. They had a wide selection of range guns to choose from. For a small shop, their selection of used/new guns was pretty good. They have gun cleaning equipment, safes, lock boxes, mainly everything you need. The store is full from wall to wall. The store is air conditioned, clean bathrooms. The range isn't air conditoned, so I would wear cool clothing. To save some cash, bring your own saftey glasses and ear plugs. read more
