Gord and I had supper last evening at Firkin on Danforth. Gord ordered Bang Bang Shrimp (flash fried crispy shrimp, house made bang bang sauce, green onions). The sauce had a bit of a kick. I ordered an Old Fashioned burger and fries (burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion rings). The bun was soft, which I like. The burger sauce was tasty. Both were good! The staff were friendly and took good care of us.

This is a solid pub near the corner of Woodbine and Danforth. Not a huge place but decent seating. Main pub room and a side room which can be used for private events. Lots of specials too. We went on a Sunday and they had $5 mimosas and caesars, plus deals on drafts too. Hubby had fish and chips and I had the Shepherds pie (which was the daily special too) Really yummy. Friendly prompt service! Street parking only although there is a Green P 5 minutes walk away and steps from Woodbine subway. Very reasonable. Especially with the drink and meal specials!

We stopped here for a late night meal. It's a soilid pub, we had the late night menu and got two types of nachos and some beers. The service was pretty good, the food was good I would come here again in the future. I can't say I have anything bad to say about it. I don't think I would make a trek here to eat again, but if I was here and everything was closed again I would eat here again.

After a nice long 8km hike my friend and I were hungry but didn't want anything too heavy so we decided to go to the Firkin on Danforth and see what they had to offer. Since it was a long weekend Monday they were still operating on a shortened weekend brunch menu so there weren't that many options which kind of bummed us out but we made do. My friend ordered the Firkin Burger with cheese, bacon, caramelized onions and fries. She really enjoyed the burger, it was cooked really well and was still juicy unlike most super dry burgers you get from bars plus it was on special! I decided to get the Chicken Pesto Club that comes with bacon, arugula, tomato, pesto mayo, fries and on your choice of white or multigrain bread. I really really loved this. The pesto mayo was really delicious and had the perfect amount of pesto in it. The chicken and bacon were perfectly cooked and there wasn't too much arugula in it which I appreciated. I decided to get it on white bread because I find sometimes the bread is over toasted and thought it would be too dry as a multi grain and I was right and glad I did get the white. The bread was just a bit over toasted for my liking but it didn't ruin the sandwich for me. In the end we were perfectly full and it was a great choice.

Nub of a finger with a claw coming out of it. Server sluffed it off and refused to replace it. #chickenwings?

If you like good food or good service, then this is NOT the place for you. Busy night because of Raptors playoff game - but there is just no excuse for the awful service and equally-horrible food. Server made us feel unwelcome from the moment we sat down. I decided on the wings - $10 for one pound. Worst wings I have EVER seen - TINY, dry and likely re-fried (more than once). They looked like dead claws from meat found at the side of the road. When we asked our server about them, she blamed kitchen and there was no option to choose something else from the menu. When I asked for some barbecue sauce from the server because the wings were so dry, she said she'd have to charge me for it. I was handed a bottle of Tabasco sauce to try and make up for it. Without a doubt THE WORST wings I have ever come across, combined with a server that made us feel like absolute SHIT. She ruined our rare night out together as friends with her complete rudeness and lack of care or attention. DO NOT RECOMMEND. EVER. I will never go back.

I've been going there for about 4 years, mostly for a quick post work drink, but it's a decent place to grab a meal, I've yet to have a bad one yet. Some of the best items tend to be their off menu specials (Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Pesto Chicken Club, etc). The weekend brunch menu is also pretty stellar. The ambiance is pretty sterile because of the new Firkin corporate look, but the place is always clean. Daily $4 Jager and Fireball specials are also not too shabby. Plenty of TVs to watch the game in every corner too.

I came here after work on Opening night with my wife and the place seems fantastic. The staff are super friendly, the food was delicious (ok it was just a burger but it was cooked right and juicy) with cheese and bacon, fries on the side chased by a pint of beer. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a Firkin pub, clean and modern with the right "British" accents. Although I'm not in a position to require wheelchair access, this place seems to be wheelchair accessible, which is great seeing that Woodbine subway station will eventually (soon) have an elevator and be an accessible station - situated super close to this bar. Bonus points (although I think businesses are legislated now to be 'accessible). Aside from a pretty awesome atmosphere, tasty food, a nice selection of beer and drinks, and friendly staff, I'll end with the seating arrangements... There are an eclectic arrangement of seats. You have two cozy little corners on either side of the front entrance with individual seats (almost cafe like seating) surrounding a small table/chest. Looked like each corner could sit around 6 bodies give or take. There are seats surrounding the bar (normal and good). There's an adequate sized not-in-your-face TV at the bar as well. There is a larger more private room with seats that is just down a few steps to the right of the front entrance. Seems like a good place for a large party. This has large (seems like 4-6 seating) tables. Cafeteria style but cooler. There are also normal tables (high) with high chairs where we sat. Thankfully the tables had foot rests, and it was comfortable. So there you go. I'll be back since I live in the area, and I think you should check it out and see for yourself. Cheers.

Went to this place on a Friday, it was very busy and the server said there would be a wait as we didn't make reservations which was understandable. They have a small kind of lounge area with a couch and some chairs around a table, which is much more comfortable than some other places waiting areas. We got seated in about 15 minutes and our server was over promptly to take our order. They have a menu expected of a pub; burgers, poutine, fish & chips as well as some salads. I got the Buffalo chicken poutine which was served on a hot skillet. The meal was just as I expected, nothing fancy or amazing but up to par with other pubs I've been too. All in all, its a good place but, I will probably be trying some of the other local places to eat before returning here.

Service is fast and friendly. the decor is clean and modern. Feels like a nice night out, like you have arrived at a special place. the lighting is perfect! Food is well plated and tasty but tonight it's pints and great conversation on the menu!

This is my first time at this location. This is a new location and I love the atmosphere and decor. We had to seat ourselves, I'm not sure if this is a normal thing or not. But anyways, I had the Basa fish tacos which were delicious and my boyfriend had the Brown Butter Basa with fries which he also enjoyed (surprisingly because he's extremely picky). Service and wait time for our food was average, nothing special. I really liked this location and I'd come here again!

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.

This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!
