I participated in a small group private CPR training session at my friend's home for 9 people. We focused on infant, child and adult CPR and choking. William is a wonderful instructor. He made the class very easy to follow and walked us through the process of what to do in an emergency situation, including seeking consent, assessing the person in distress, when to call 911, and how to perform CPR and help with choking. We practiced the process a few times with CPR manikins (different ones for infants and children/adults). William observed each of us and helped with tips and corrections as needed. We talked through various scenarios, and he gave us opportunities to ask questions. The manikins were very clean, and he also provided one-time-use gloves and sheets to cover the manikin's faces. Some tough topics are bound to come up in a CPR class - it's not easy to talk about scenarios of people in distress. William's experience in discussing these topics definitely showed. He is matter-of-fact but gentle in describing situations. The course was $40 per person. You can get a certificate as an add-on, which you can chat through with William if you are interested.

Signing up and scheduling a time was a breeze - I called in and spoke to Elizabeth who was nothing but sweet, helpful and accommodating. She worked with my schedule to set up a time and gave me all information I needed. She informed me they provided at-home instruction with one of their qualified trainers and it would take about an hour. I was pleasantly surprised to hear this since I was expecting to take 4-6 hours out of a Saturday to sit in a classroom with a group of people and watch some boring video. So not the case with Safety & Life Support CPR Training! Zach, the instructor, arrived at my place on time and was very approachable and easy to talk to. During the instruction, Zach was very thorough and always checked in to see if I had any questions or if anything he covered was unclear. The one-on-one training in my own house was not only more comfortable and convenient for me, but it made it easier to hone in and get undivided attention on a subject matter that's so crucial for the safety and welfare of those in need during an emergency. My 3-12-23 training was all of the aforementioned and so much more delivered by instructor Marcus Jones. He melded critical data, science, compassion and humor all within a concise two-hour class. I left confident that if need be, I can do this. Enroll in classes online for both in person and online training however, I was unable to access https://www.bhcpr.org to include a link to training in this update for such both yesterday and today. Perhaps the site is being reconfigured? Found message: "This account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information."
