I left confident that if need be, I can do this. Enroll in classes online for both in person and online training however, I was unable to access https://www.bhcpr.org to include a link to training in this update for such both yesterday and today. Perhaps the site is being reconfigured? Found message: "This account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information." Until aforementioned issue is resolved, best to call to schedule essential training in CPR/AED, BLS, First Aid, Blood Born Pathogens (required for OSHA workers) or schedule an outreach event for your business or family @ (310) 281-2753 because when you do, it's the right thing to do... And a RAVE review at that. Shauna and Sam are incredibly dedicated to the craft of childcare and education. They put so much time, effort, and LOVE into everyday, with specially crafted activities, circle time, and outdoor experiences. An additional perk was GORGEOUS photos uploaded to a shared app where we could really see how our kids were thriving. They were also very patient, thoughtful and communicative as our daughter struggled with some behavioral issues. They also did their best to accommodate changing schedules and were truly understanding when we needed flexibility. Honestly, Shauna and Sam were so much like family we would share updates outside of school (like how potty training was going - eek! - and our kids first soccer game), and we're SO emotional as we move on. What became clear very quickly is that these are young instructors with little to no experience working with children and a limited understanding of how to handle common situations that arise in a pool setting. In one instance, as a "safety exercise" the coach had my 9-year-old daughter to swim with her eyes covered with the swim cap. After my daughter became visibly upset, cried, and explained that she felt anxious and her heart was racing, the coach continued to push the exercise. I asked the coach to let it go for the time being and she agreed, but minutes later told my daughter that she would have to do it next time regardless of how she felt. Anyone working with children, especially in a swimming environment, should have at least basic training in recognizing and responding appropriately to anxiety. The coach's approach showed a lack of understanding, empathy, and judgment. This experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend spending your money here. The school appears to invest very little in properly training and preparing its instructors to work with children.
