I have been to this location quite a few times since moving to Altamonte Springs a few years ago…read more During the height of the pandemic, Seminole County changed the process for its citizens in need of services at the local Tax Collector Offices and DMV locations (along with mAny others, I'm sure,). They began requiring an appointment to be made online or by phone to avoid overcrowding, long lines, stressed out employees, and the opportunity for the spread of the virus, germs, and other illnesses. It was a good idea and was made with good intentions. However, on the flip side, if you were trying to get a copy of your ID printed or some other time sensitive service, it wasn't so great. I was unable to get an appointment at any of the locations in Seminole County for weeks, sometimes months, in advance. They did not take walk-in appointments at all. Plus, the lines and crowds inside did not seem to lessen much with the new regulations. I would get there 15 minutes early, as instructed, and still needed to get a number, sit down in the lobby, and wait for it to be called. Again, I had to wait for 20-60 minutes AFTER my appointment time. Somewhat recently, the rules changed again. The Tax Collector Offices still offer the ability to book an online appointment ahead of time, and it is still rare to be able to find one within the same week. Luckily, this location now offers walk in appointments for some basic services, such as a new copy of your driver's license or ID. This office allows walk-in appointments until 4:00 PM Monday - Friday. You can schedule an appointment online for a designated day, time, and location. They are available for weekdays, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. You can also check the website before going to the location for a walk-in appointment to see what the average wait times are. The last time I visited this location, I went without an appointment at about 2:30 p.m. I expected to have to wait without an appointment, but I was shocked to discover that as soon as I took a number, it was called within 2 to 3 minutes. I was in and out of the office in about 10 minutes total. The woman working was very friendly and there were barely any people waiting in the lobby. My only complaint is that to get a new copy of my ID and my partner's driver's license, we had to pay $60! We have the Florida gold star on our IDs, but apparently that doesn't help with the cost whatsoever! Besides that, though, it was a great experience!

Silly me had to show my proof of registration. While I was waiting in line socially distanced I got to watch a couple get married there. It was in a separate room with an arch with flowers and lights and they had a photographer and everything. They even provided a cute sign to hold that said "best day ever". Would return. Hope I don't have to.

Handicapped Parking Permit Registration review…read more My wife and I arrived shortly after 9 am (opening time) on a Monday, and the line to enter was outside and down the sidewalk. However, it was a short wait. Once inside, two employees at different, but adjacent stations, provided tax payers with a numbered ticket for the service requested. Most stations were filled with a state employee, and I witnessed what appeared to be their honest engagement with whomever they helped. The whole process seemed quite efficient. Angelina assisted us, and after verifying the paperwork and accepting the payment, she sent us on our way with a temporary handicapped parking permit. Altogether we spent about 30-35 minutes at the office. For a state-run office, I found it a surprisingly easy process. Note: The foot traffic was steady during our short wait, about 15 minutes until our number was called. Payment forms include credit cards and cash. Plenty of parking is available.

After looking up the address (after living here for so long) I decided to make a quick stop there to get this done and also run some errands during lunch. Parking was good, there were plenty of spots at 1140ish am and I made a beeline to the front welcome area. I stated what I needed to get done and was given a small paper with my alphanumeric queue ticket and then I sat for about 7 minutes before I was called up to one of the over 10 windows loaded up with employees ready to assist. I provided my mailed in paper and Patricia G. quickly got my new license and she attached the new tag. Easy peasy, I made the payment and out the door I went. I paid for a two year tag and while they offer a screwdriver to remove the now expired plate, I prefer to do it at home.

I made an appointment for 12:45 and checked in 15mins before my appointment and sat down for maybe 5 minutes before my number was called. I brought with me so many paperwork and documents to renew my driver's license and Debra said hold on you may not need all of it which took a heavy load of my shoulders. After a few questions about my mental state, if I've had a seizure moment and voters choose. It was than time to take a photo for my new license and $69 payment. Debra was able to get me out around 1:05. It would have been sooner but I was just talking to her about how in New York you would be in the DMV for at least 4 to 6 hours before I left 10 plus years ago. Thank you thank you thank you Debra for an easy none stress experience.

Dear Sirs, On…read moreJanuary 9th, I had a terrible experience at the University Boulevard Office Gate 11, scheduled for 2:15 PM. The attendant who served us was completely rude, relentless, raised her voice for no reason and tried to find difficulties to make our visit useless. Despite presenting all the necessary documentation to obtain the Florida ID (valid passport, visa, I-94 and proof of address), maintaining her rude manner from the beginning, she first started questioning the name on the passport (the same as on the I-94) and then refused my proof of address (I presented correspondence from Bank of America and Scott Randolf!!!! correspondence of notice of renewal of license of the Tax Collector), since my house is registered under the name of my LLC company. Despite the proof of address presented, she did some kind of research and started yelling "this is an LLC, this is an LLC" and threw the documents back, ending the service. Stating that it is my home as registered on my driver's license for the past 12 years did not change her mind. I truly believe that this is not the standard of service that Scott Randolph Tax Collector wishes to provide to its customers. Disappointing. Sincerely, Walter Dias
