Valvoline in Apopka has gone downhill. My wife and I have been customers for 10 years. They stood out above the other "quick oil change" businesses. Today's visit will be my last time using them. They were terrible. A totally different crew which were lazy. We used to pull in there, they'd check our lights, tire pressure, then drain the oil and replace the filter and fill the oil. It was part of the service they've provided since they opened. Today, the guy asked me "do you want your lights checked?" I said, "well, yes". I know that I have a front marker light out. After checking he said, "Everything's good" Then they rolled out an oil evacuation machine. They wanted to suck the oil out from the dipstick. I asked, "why do you want to do it that way?" He replied, "I want to give my guys a break." I told him, "I'll wait for your guys to take a break and then have them drain it from the drain plug like it's supposed to be done" Oil change complete he starts ringing me up. I asked him, "Don't you guys check our tire pressures anymore?" (He wasn't going to but after I asked) he said, "I'll do it after I invoice you" This place used to run like a well oil machine (pun intended). They had a proven service routine which for one reason or another they've abandoned. And it's a shame. I used to go there knowing my lights, tire pressures, and oil were "all good" when I left. I can't trust them anymore. They destroyed 10 years of customer satisfaction, (heck, customer praise) in 1 visit and now I'm "bummed out" because I'm going to have to find another place to change my oil. read more

I went in because I had a leak under the car which was either oil or transmission fluid. I wanted to check to see what the levels were since I was not due for servicing and all of the levels in both looked good but they did find a leak in the transmission. Since they did not actually service anything it didn't cost me to go in and now I can find someone to fix the transmission without being extra out of pocket for a fluid change. Unbelievably quick and great service! I bought my breakfast thinking I was gonna eat it inside while I wait for my oil change....that could possibly take an hour or so. But to my surprise, I didn't have to get out. You basically tell them what you want, they explain to you your options and what is recommended for your car. I was out in no time, 15 minutes max! The customer service was very friendly and professional. I'm a female and I definitely didn't feel out of place coming here. The pricing is definitely reasonable. I'm willing to pay a little more when I need quick and convenient. I'm happy to say that both of those apply to Valvoline Instant Oil Change. They have three bays that are all open, and even if they are full, the team of guys working there cycle through the cars quickly. I've never been to a place that lets you stay in the car, but they do just that. To do this, your can is not lifted, but instead they climb under in tunnels that are underneath the car. While getting your oil change, you talk with another worker who goes over the basics with you, and offers upsell products (but not pushy), while also processing your payment. The added features that they have here are appreciated, and come with every oil change. They inspect every light on your car to ensure they are working, inflate your tires, all while you chill in your car. Check Groupon, they typically are there with a discounted price. I was there today for an oil change. Everything was good with the oil change until they started to check my cabinet air filter and the staff there told me it's OIL filter WHILE IT'S ACTUALLY NOT and it's dirty and it needs a change. I think he knows what he was doing but just told me the wrong thing. But I am not an expert in the car and that's why I was there and of course I took it and thought my oil filter was dirty and needed a change to improve my oil performance. Not mention it takes a LONG time for him to just took out the cabinet air filter. I understand it takes time for someone to learn and I am respectful and was fine with him taking extra time. What makes me unhappy is that he didn't admit that he say it WRONG and previously he said he can give me a discount for $29.99 but he eventually charged me the FULL PRICE until I realized later. I spend more than $40 on a cabinet air filter WHICH IS NOT NECESSARY for me. After everything was done, I was already unhappy about spending extra money on something not necessary, and said I need a reset so that my oil change indicator would go away. I expected that should be at least something that professionals were able to do, to reset the indicator. Apparently he was not familiar with cars and it was I that had to tell him what to do to reset the indicator. He said he was sorry for the misunderstanding and he would offer a discount next time I come, but the thing is I AM NOT GOING BACK. I thought as a national chain store, people like me who know nothing about cars could trust them. There were so many other GOOD local stores and for whoever is considering Valvoline, SAVE YOUR TIME AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more
