I seem to hit this place more in the summer than I do in winter but I always love the vibe here. Steps from Gondola 1, it's surprising it isn't more pretentious. It's pretty casual, the staff there are always cool as hell and they have a great, albeit small selection of beers on tap. Not just IPA's which is a nice change from many other places. The food is good too. It's Vail village so you're not getting a free appetizer with your purchase, but it's a better deal than many in the area. Breakfast burritos are the bomb! Easy choice to apres after a long day on the mountain. They have a dj spinning live out front drawing a crowd and lively party, that ends at 530. We sat down at 5 and i had the honey trap, my boyfriend had the margarita. The drinks were pretty good and we decided to go for some snacks since happy hour started. We tried both the guac and the spinach dip. The guac was delicious, the spinach dip was ok, a little too watery but good flavors. The beers were on sale for less than $4 so we had two after the apps and left feeling satisfied for a good price. Entered this establishment expecting to have such a good time and was met with racist remarks by the person behind the bar (didn't catch his name but he looks like shaggy from Scooby doo). He started his tirade by pointing out we were clearly not from around here. Then proceeded to say we had "really thick accents," and so he inquired further by asking "are you all Mexicans?" He then finished it all off by saying "I'm not Mexican." He ruined our happy experience visiting vail. Such a shame. Spent 13 dollars on a veggie burrito this am, all it had was undercooked potatoes and cheese that wasn't melted.

Perhaps I misunderstood this place, but to be clear it is a BAR, not a place to eat, and the burritos are not burritos but rather breadless versions of things like meatball parm and burgers in a flour tortilla wrap-which could be good if you want a wrap and not a burger or a meatball parm. The "burritos" are all that is offered that are not snacks or sides, and said burritos appear to have been made somewhere and frozen, thawed at the restaurant in the morning, heated up and stored in those stainless steel buffet trays with a cover and a heat source underneath (like at hotel buffets). The "burritos" appear to be wrapped in a commercial foil that would surprise me if there were a roll of it anywhere in the establishment. On our first visit to Vail, we arrived starving late in the day for lunch (around 2pm). You order and pay by QR code and they bring you your foil wrapped thing and your drinks (they were out of hot chocolate so my son switched to sprite, but we still were charged $5.00 for the hot chocolate). You select tip amount ahead of time, and I saw they automatically add 20% and ask you to give 20% more in the app- literally 40% up front for ordering and paying without any server! This before any food has been delivered. Fortunately I declined the additional tip. My wrap had a cold spot in it and we were a little concerned that the wraps had been sitting around since the early lunch hour. Supporting this was the fact that, as we were leaving , the lady behind the bar was dumping the heated buffet container with the burritos. You might want to try this place for cocktails. We did not try these, and in a bar, that is probably more their specialty, but calibrate your expectations if you are looking for a burrito. They don't have any . read more
