Yesterday on April 13, 2024, around 1 PM there was a woman that answered the phone. All I did was…read morecall and ask if the facilities were open and she had no clue. I told her I didn't want to make the trip before knowing if it was possible to enter the pool, then she said, let me check for you one moment, came back on the phone and said yes we're open. It's three dollars for entry. We drove 20 minutes to get to the aquatic center only to see that it was a ghost town. Not even open. So this person wasted this time of my day on Saturday. I wish I got the woman's name but I don't think that she should be answering phone calls anymore.

Hidden Gem in South Miami!…read more The facility has picnic tables, Shaded structures, Chairs, Lounge chairs, A splash pad, Bathrooms, Lockers, and on top of that it is a life-guarded facility so you can be at ease knowing you and your children will be safe. This is a great pool to come out and spend time with the family or bring your little ones out to learn how to swim. This pool has a zero depth entry making it easy to get in and out and safe for little ones to play with ease. There are also 4 lap lanes if you wanted to come, workout and get some laps in. Open Spring Break - End of September this is a wonderful place to check out. We also host an annual Dunkin 4 Pumpkins event (Depicted in the pictures attached) where families can come out and dip into the pool to grab a pumpkin and enjoy our local vendors.

Is it reasonable to officially display a price of $10 per adult and $5 per child, but upon arrival…read morebe charged $20 per adult and $10 per child with no explanation, when the prices are published on an official government website? It can feel misleading or confusing for visitors. Public pool? Technically, it is a public facility, but in practice it does not always feel that way. For residents, the fee is $10 per adult and $5 per child, while for non-residents it is $20 per adult and $10 per child. This is already on the higher end of what is traditionally expected from a municipal pool. In addition, the city website is not always updated with the most current pricing. Olympic pool? Yes, in terms of structure and size, but it does not include a diving area, so it is limited in that sense. Heated water? That statement can be misleading depending on the season, as the water is not consistently heated year-round. We are in April, and the water feels extremely cold, almost like "ice water." I have been coming here for several years, and this is the first time we have felt that some younger staff members are interacting with children in a more strict or tense manner; this was not the case before. There are also private hotel pools and small water parks that charge around $15-$20, and many times they feel more relaxed and accessible. This raises a valid question about value and accessibility in comparison. It also gives the impression that there is a gradual shift toward prioritizing residents (despite significant price increases for them as well) or increasing overall costs, which raises concerns about long-term accessibility for non-residents. At the same time, these facilities are publicly funded through taxpayer money, including contributions from Miami-Dade County, and entry fees are intended to help cover operational and maintenance costs. Overall, this is a matter of balance: public infrastructure is supported by taxpayers, but users also expect fair pricing, transparency, and a clear value in return. I hope these facilities do not evolve into spaces that feel similar to private venues, as that could create an unfair competitive disadvantage for private businesses in the same category.

Fun place! They have several different pool areas that are partitioned off, such as swim lanes for…read morelaps, an area for the slide and a shallower section for children. If you are a resident, the cost is just $5, but know that it is CASH ONLY unless you spend more than $10. They also have a lot of cheap community swim classes, including aqua aerobics, and times for just swim lane/swim laps. There are plenty of lawn chairs, even on the weekend, and the staff are helpful. Pool feels clean, the area is similarly clean. I did NOT go into the bathroom so cannot comment on those facilities. Plenty of free parking on the premise, and during the busier season (summer, I believe?) it looked like there were concessions and the slide would be open. All in all, I have spent several pleasant afternoons here when I did not have to work or got out early.

A great community resource... if you can access it…read more The park and pool's website information has not been updated. Hours and cost information listed online are not correct. The pool is lovely and well-maintained. You can swim laps, paddle around, or take swimming lessons at different times of the day. I tried to use the pool a couple of times during the day but wasn't able to because it was either mysteriously closed or had no public access - swim lessons were being given. The changing rooms are a bit... Spartan and rustic - nothing but a few benches in a concrete box. Do not go by the hours listed online. You have to physically go to the pool and look at the noticed posted at the pool entrance. (see photo) The price online is also wrong. The fact that it is late June and the Recreation Center sill has a lit Christmas tree in the lobby lets you know that oversight and management is nearly non-existent. If they don't have the leadership to pack a Christmas tree in a box, then certainly don't expect the website to show current information.

What a sweet little pool in the heart of Downtown/Brickell! Right on the Miami River, you can watch…read morethe boats go by as you swim your laps. And at only $3 per adult, it's a steal! I was worried they wouldn't take credit cards since it's such a low fee, but they do. The pool didn't feel like a typical 25 yard length, so I asked the lifeguard and he says it's a 33 meter pool. Bear in mind as you plan your workout. Pool has five or six lanes and is flanked by bleachers and some very basic changing room/shower facilities. Lap swim hours (pictured) are pretty extensive Monday through Friday. Less so Saturday and Sunday but still workable. I came in the middle of a work day and had a lane to myself.
