First beach trip of the year! What better way to start off the year than a beach sunset? I hadn't visited this beach in about two years and I'm glad we detoured here. Parking was almost full but not a hassle as we got there around 3:45pm and there were multiple people leaving. The lifeguards are very hands on, the crowd is not loud & the beach is clean. I will definitely be coming back more often!

    Beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon

Beautiful day. And beautiful beach. We weren't planning to go to the beach, but it's where we landed, lol. There's always so much traffic & people & parking issues (real talk) just trying to get to the beach. Then there are limited access points due to the sprawling hotels everywhere, but once you get there, it's worth it! Sunny Isles has a pier that you can walk out on, relax, even fish from the pier, and it's free ($10 to fish though). It's also connected to a restaurant if you need a bite to eat. Nice way to end the day.

What a pleasant beach. They have a few car parking spaces right in front of it. The water and beach was clean. I really enjoyed being able to walk on the pier. To be noted it is also free! which you cannot knock in this day and age.

Overall great but there was a lot of people. There were also a lot of pigeons and seagulls and it was very distracting. Overall it's a tourist spot.

I've been coming to this beach for a while - even in my younger days - since it is one a few beaches relatively open at night. Makes it great whether I went to see the full moon, decompress and take in fresh air after a 16 hour workday or share a romantic moment. The pier is also a great spot to chill, although now in times of Rona it only opens until about 7pm, although the sandy area is open until midnight. There are a few metered parking spot right next to the beach, so it can be challenge to get one. However, there's a city lot a few blocks over. As far as other amenities, there's a restaurant right on the pier. There are also some nearby dining spots as well.

Amazing place to relax and watch the sunset ... it's very quiet here and it's not crowded at all. If you are looking for a place to enjoy and beautiful evening this is it.

The approximate GPS coordinates for it are 25 degrees 53.5N 80 degrees 8.5W. It's also located just west of Intracoastal Marker #12 and it's the last island south of Haulover Inlet before you reach the bridge. It's just a little island as in really being very small. To get to it, you'll need a boat and though a well-known favorite of locals generally overlooked and unknown to tourists. And, oddly enough, the Oleta Park web site seems to make no particular mention of it. When you arrive at Temptation Island you'll find a rather picturesque bay that might make you think it's actually Gilligan's Island, but it's not. The beach area is rather rocky so wearing water shoes or sandals is a good idea. One of the things that makes Temptation an outstanding place for boaters is that the water close to shore has a drop off and goes really deep so if your boat draws a 6 foot draft, not a problem. The best way handle your mooring is to drop a bow anchor then back in toward the island. Then when you are at your preferred distance run a long rope off your aft upon shore securing it to a tree. As it is small and a local favorite, space for mooring is quickly taken. Hence there may be no room for you as spaces are taken rather early by groups that enjoy rafting together on the weekends. I've rafter here several times over the years with the likes of SSA Boating, Out Boating and Boys With Boats. Everyone has always had fun at the raftings and have thoroughly enjoy the beauty of Temptation Island. As little islands, or what Jimmy Buffet might best describe as a "little piece of salty sand" go along the Intracoastal, Temptation is a Five Star.

South City Beach Park has beach access, restrooms, outdoor showers, open air pavilion, two bocce courts, a fenced in playground, sand volleyball court, and a beachfront concession stand. If you chose to come here do not let your parking time run out! I have been here twice and they are very aggressive about writing tickets. Both times I saw multiple tickets written. Online it says the minimum parking ticket is $39. I even saw one car with the barnacle which covers the windshield and makes it impossible to see to drive the car until you pay the fine to unlock it. You can pay for parking on your phone by app. In addition to being quick to write a ticket, another thing I didn't care for is they change the parking price whenever they want. If you come early or late you can get a discounted price of $2 and hour which is half off the normal $4 an hour rate but another time I came on the Sunday after Fourth of July and a holiday rate of $10 was in effect. If you are going to stay all day it is fine but at least for me it discourages dropping in for an hour or two. Make sure you keep an eye on the time so you can have your best beach day here.

Being an out of town guest, I did not want to have to download and app, create an account, etc. Also, what about people who don't have smartphones? That said, there were plenty of spots as the parking lot is a decent size.
