I hate that I have to re write this review after a year. I booked a sugar scrub/ massage and a facial. My scrub/ massage was not good. I got the scrub for 15-20 mins then went to wash off, when the girl came back in, she lightly rubbed me down in oil. My services were done 20 mins early (did have to wait for a bit for her to come back in after washing off the scrub) When I was done, I asked them does the massage not come with it anymore? The lady that gave me my services as well as the manager on duty both said oh no just a light rub down. I did tell her I was done early as well which I got a discount to 88$ for that service (88$ for a 20 mins scrub ok?) I did write a review which the owner Frank called me personally to find out what happened. In said call he did offer me to come back when him and his wife were home to get the service again on them and he would have his wife do it, so it was done correctly. So now I am here writing this review. I wanted to take my bestie for the scrub/massage for her Christmas gift and figured since I have the free one, I will join her (we always go together anyways) We are just booking for May 9th as with life this was the only time we could get in together. Well Frank just called and said he did not offer me a free one and that I got a discount that day. I said OK sure I got a discount but 88$ for a sugar scrub ok whatever. He made it seem like I needed the free service, I don't I can pay for myself but when you are offered a free service for the service you didn't get then to now turn around and change your mind and say you don't remember saying that, is crazy to me. He made me happy in this time so I would take my original review down (which I did after speaking with him as I thought he was making it right, guess not) Needless to say, we have now cancelled our appointment, and we will not be returning to La Vida Salon again!

Today, I decided to visit their spa. I sent an email to book appointment the same day and in a span of five minutes I got a call from Frank to arrange the schedule. I am so glad he accommodated us for the service. I was able to booked a couples massage and also scheduled a hair appointment for me as well same day at 2 pm. Since we are only visiting Windsor for the weekend. For my hair, I chose to get a Balayage, a technique that gives a subtle, blended look. My hairdresser, Marianne, listens to what I wanted for my hair & she. gave recommendations. She spent a good 3 hours on it, and I must say, she did an incredible job, she took time and focused, I like the way she is being nice. The result of my hair service was a balanced and softer look that I loved. The business owner also checked on me from time to time. Next came the couples massage, our first time at the spa. It was truly fantastic, especially for my husband, who experienced a strong Thai massage from a skilled practitioner. My husband was so happy with it. But unfortunately with my massage therapist, I find it is an "ok" service. I would say from 1-10 points , I will give her only 6 points because she forgot to massage my both arms. I had didn't quite meet my expectations like the full body massage. It lacked the desired pressure and technique, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and tense afterward. At first, She was not able to introduce herself, I find her timid and not friendly. The ambiance at La Vida is upscale and the salon feels above average. Clean and smells good inside. They have different rooms for various services, which adds to the experience. While the cost is a bit on the higher side, the top-notch service of the business owners / reception host , my hairdresser and one of the massage therapist who is from Thailand justifies everything. Wifi: Free with password Parking: If you are a new customers like us . There's a few parking spots in the back, a metered front street parking and I think the side streets is a free parking. I had so many bad experiences with hairstylist in Toronto, so I never dared to use them for colour. But in here, I saw a gorgeous girl with the most amazing style and colour in her head, so I asked her about the magician's name. She gave me the clue: Jocelyn at Cabello/Hair... I called one Monday and nobody answered (cuz they're off that day), but the more I saw that girl's amazing hair, the more I got obsessed... I went there yesterday, and I'm the happiest girl in Windsor!!! The place is super cool; they have a bicycle hanging from the ceiling, collages of images, shoes, and the people working in there is worth to watch. The clientele was plenty, and from all kind of ages: kids to modern senior citizens. They offered me beverages several times, and the experience was really pleasant. But the best part was Jocelyn. The way she made the Doctor who will be doing the procedure sound, made me hopeful I was going to be in good hands.... The day of the appointment I found the Doctor not very friendly. She didn't even know anything about me or anything that was discussed during the consultation. So I had to repeat myself over again. The consultation was $75. For what exactly? There is no point since the information is not even passed on! The woman who was the Doctors assistant seemed a bit out of it, unknowledgeable &, definitely not all there mentally. Just because this isn't an anesthetic surgery does not mean you can slack off & not take the patient seriously. When I was escorted to the desk after completion I was not given much information regarding care of my now swollen lips... just didn't feel all that comfortable or all that welcomed to this "spa". Just like the medical industry... I'm just a # i don't think Ill be recommending this spa for serious cosmetic surgeries. She does a great job cutting and colouring my hair. I usually bring a picture in of how I want my hair cut. Rather than cutting my hair exactly like the picture, she knows what will work and what won't work with my hair, so she tweaks it to fit me, which I love. One time she cut my hair and I didn't quite love it when I went home. I came back in and she fixed it no problem, at no charge of course.. When I get my hair coloured she keeps track of what products she'd used before so she knows what she has used before, and if it worked well or not. She's completely honest about it too. For instance, she has tried many different things to get my hair the red colour that I want but it just doesn't stick well with my hair. I went in one time and wanted to try it again. She told me that if that's what I want, she'll do it, but that it will fade quickly because my hair just doesn't seem to want to work with that colour. Blonde would work best, she said. The staff is very personable. They chat you up, offer you a drink etc. They make you feel at home, and they know their customers well. Even me, who only comes in every 3-4 months (sometimes more). Now that I don't live in Windsor anymore, I always try to book my appointments for when I know I'm coming home to visit. This means that I usually book 2-3 months in advance, which isn't a problem. They take walk-ins too if there's room. My boyfriend came when I got my hair cut, and while Antonella didn't have time to cut it b/c she was double booked, one of the other hair dressers did. There is a number of stylists there, so the price range varies. Obviously you pay more for experience, but it's still not that expensive for a Salon. They also have a variety of great AG products, which they use right in the Salon. Something that I really like, b/c then you can buy the product that was just used on your hair if you like it. The only bad thing I may say is that it can be busy sometimes, so make sure you leave yourself lots of time. It's definitely not as bad as going to the Dr. though! Plus, you leave feeling nice and pretty. The parking lot of quite small too. While I've never had a problem getting parking, I am not the best parker, so it takes me a few tries to get into a spot sometimes! lol

She was also very unsure about everything she was doing like she never even went to school for hair. The outcome of my hair was not good. It was all choppy and not even the color I asked for. She also managed to not distribute the color properly. After she saw how it looked she told me she would try and fix it but I did not even want her to touch my hair again. Very disappointed with my hair now and lost all that money for very bad results. Go else where.
