You know how we all sometimes are too quick to judge? I recently bought a single family home that had a termite inspection letter issued by first choice pest control. A month after I moved in, I noticed swarm of flies appearing in my living room. I cleaned it up without thinking the flies reappeared again. They turn out to be swarming termites. What the horror when I found out that they were termites I called for quotes and had multiple companies come to my place for inspections. Being a new home buyer I didn't realized I had a resource against the company that issue the termite letter (within 90 days) until one of the inspectors shared it with me. I was wary at first if first choice would honor the letter and do a full termite chemical extermination for me because it is a costly thing to do. I called them on a Saturday and they actually turned up the following Monday, did a thorough inspection and did everything that other companies recommended. They drilled holes every 10 feet around the house and pumped in the chemicals I needed. Further, they even offered to come by every 3 months for the next year to do a termite inspection all free of charge! This is definitely next level service and a company that I feel like I can trust. After speaking to a few companies, I realized that swarming termites are not something you can catch easily by looking at the foundation of the house - because they do not really eat the wood as quickly as other varieties of termites. Their sole purpose is to reproduce really while feeding off on wood really slowly. After understanding this, I really do not blame these guys for not catching the problem. This was such a great experience. From the minute I spoke to the person who answered the phone I knew that I was going to have a good experience. The technician arrived on time. He was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. He made some great suggestions about termite system I had in my yard. He was able to address all of my questions and left me we with a good impression. Great customer service. I hate this company. I discovered they were overcharging me & had me getting pest control services I didn't need. I was going through my bank statements one day & I found out I had already paid for 2 quarterly pest control services twice. My bank had showed the transactions processed and cleared. I called to find out why they double charged me for services. I asked for a refund. They refused to give me a refund and they didn't have a valid explanation to give me other than the typical "computer error" excuse. It has been over 8 months and I never ever received a refund from them although I discontinued my pest control services with them the same day I called about being doubled charged. I was a loyal customer for almost 2 years prior to this event. I can't believe they ripped me off like that. In my opinion I think they do predatory business by taking advantage of your trust and your lack of understanding about pest control. read more
