I would highly recommend this as a first daycare option--she welcomes children up until they move on to Pre-K or Kindergarten. Along the way, we've also met such wonderful families and friends through this experience. If you're looking for an interactive, safe, and enriching environment for your child, definitely check out Miss Yelena's.

Before finding Mrs. Yelena we visited multiple day care centers, we never liked the place, the people or simply we did not feel comfortable with the setting. (As first time parents we were nervous). When we first visited Mrs. Yelena we knew, we knew right away, we had found a place where our daughter could play, learn and grow. It felt like, and it is for our daughter, a home away from home. The small group really allows Mrs. Yelena to focus on the kids and their growth, our daughter, learned to clean up after herself, snack time and sharing, gave up the diaper, started napping (she only naps during the week, not on weekends), playing with other kids, climbing, painting, snow, new songs, English! She started singing all out and expressing herself in so many creative new ways. Every so often you meet people that have found their calling, when you meet Mrs. Yelena you can tell she is doing what she loves to do. She is a great educator, with so much warmth and kindness. Every single day the kids are playing with something new to stimulate a new sense, or new songs, or planting trees. A beautiful place and environment for kids to grow in. I highly recommend Mrs. Yelena's Educational place in West Hartford and Mrs. Yelena, if anything everyone who cares about their kids should visit her place to see what a loving and nurturing environment looks like.

The school is well run, with clear guidelines and expectations for everyone, families and staff alike. Here are some selling points for me and they may be for you, too: * diversity (racial and economic) * secure buildings * plenty of outdoor time * predictable schedule for kids * quality staff oversight * frequent communication from administration (in person and via mobile app) * art, literacy woven into social and physical activities * utilize Trinity College students for extra support in classrooms (students always have plenty of attention) * kind teachers, who really care I would highly recommend TC4 to any parent looking for childcare. Just take a tour and I'm sure you'll be sold.

Ultimately, it was clear…read moreto us, from the way our children took to their class, or didn't, that this was a poor fit. Overheard staff complaining about short lunch breaks at hours that made no sense to avoid staffing shortage, overheard a teacher tell a child to stop crying, that he was faking it. I hate to knock a place that someone might like. If we had no other option in the world and literally no one could take care of our kids, fine, we'd go, temporarily. However, we ended up at a different daycare and we are much more at peace with that decision. Unhappy teachers made this place feel like a holding pen for toddlers instead of a place of early childhood education.

My husband and I took lots of time researching and visiting many different facilities. I had almost given up and then I met with Moriah ( the asst..director). From that moment of meeting her and touring the facilities and hearing about their extensive program I knew that I had found the most perfect place. If I couldn't be home with my daughter full time EPC was the only place I felt as ease sending her. Once my daughter started attending I really got to know the teachers. They are so accommodating to YOUR child's schedule. My daughter is now 9 months old and I couldn't be happier with her growth there. I have no doubt that EPC is the BEST!!

We've been sending our daughter since 9mo (now 29mo) and highly recommend this center for a number…read moreof reasons: 1) Communicative administration: Director Ms. Sarah and Mr. Andrew are super organized and responsive with all questions/needs a parent may have. They also help out in classes often, know all kids very well, and hold town-halls frequently to stay even more connected with the parents. I also like their portal where I can easily email and manage payments etc. 2) Top quality facility: Center is bright, CLEAN, and overall an inviting environment for kids to play and learn in. They just installed brand new wooden floors (2017) which is an added bonus. Outdoor play area is also very well-organized and clean. 3) Curriculum based learning: In toddler class, they have a 'theme' each month/week and kids learn from story time, art, and fun activities. For example, if the theme is 'camping' for the week, kids will learn about 'camping' by setting up tents indoors, making smores/pretend campfire, singing and dancing to songs, making art with fall leaves, and of course reading stories. They also keep rotating toys and books to stimulate kids and stay up to date with current learnings. 4) Warm caring teachers: Since the infant class to now toddler class, we've had many amazing teachers who would open up their arms to my daughter when we come in the morning, diligently snap nice photos throughout the day and send thru tadpole app, along with very descriptive real-time status update (i.e. 'went potty', 'had XYZ snack', 'applied sunscreen', etc.), and share daily anecdotes when we pick her up.

My children, ages two and four, have been in daycare programs from the age of 16 weeks. We loved…read moreour first daycare, but as time passed and our 'favorite' teachers came and left, it was clear that the management of the center had fallen below acceptable. My husband and I being proponents of large 'school like' centers, we found another one close to home and affordable. Unfortunately, within the first year and with one months notice, we were told the center would be closing - and we were offered a spot at Education Playcare. The team at EP has been welcoming, engaging, and responsive through the entire transition. The first concern when transferring daycare centers is the staff - it's important my children feel safe with their teachers. EP always has a staff board up front where you can see all staff names, pictures and classroom assignments. When walking the halls, within two weeks, everyone knew my girls names and made a point to say hello when they saw them. I've even seen some teachers at off site birthday parties - you can tell that they do what they love and love what they do and the kids are important to them. Many of the kids in the preschool class have been together since they were born so it feels much like family here, and everyone has been warm and welcoming to both of my daughters. Communication is EP's strong suit. Out of the three centers we've been through, this is the first center to provide updates via email during the day. The "Tadpole" App is the best thing going - I get emails all day with pictures of the kids doing different art projects, playing games, sitting in circle time, reading books, etc. As a working parent, it can be easy to feel a bit detached from your children during the day. The "how was your day" question gets the usual eye roll, but when we can ask questions that reference specific activities we get much more detailed responses. We get emails about sicknesses, center updates, programs etc. - I never feel like I don't know what is going on, and that is comforting. Daycare is expensive - that is unavoidable. In my eyes, you must get a return on the investment. Not only does EP provide a fully NAEYC accredited preschool program and a selection of enrichment programs (yoga, music, art, etc.) - they provide snacks, lunches and beverages too! Our morning stress level has gone down significantly now that we don't risk leaving our lunches at home. Family style lunch has taught both children patience and manners, and we certainly see that reflected in our family dinners at home. There are new toys and furniture being delivered daily and just recently the center was repainted and the sidewalks outside were fixed. It is very clear that the center is focused on keeping a clean and organized environment. Kaley Dehm, the assistant director, has always been there to answer my questions on site or during the day via email. She is responsive and always smiling. Danielle Hunter, the new center director, is better than the last by a million to one! She is quick, helpful, friendly and efficient. The two women make a really, really great team. Overall - we are very happy with the transition and are so very thankful our girls have now become a part of the EP family. We recommend this center to all!

Given…read morethat we live in a small community with many young children, we heard lots of feedback regarding all of the daycare options around us. After looking into everything from a nanny to a home daycare provider, we found EPC. Ashley, the director, met with us over Zoom (oh pandemic babies) and made us feel so comfortable and dare I say excited about sending our son to EPC. And after our first in person visit, we were absolutely sold. Every single person that we walked by on that day gave us a big smile and wave. We could tell that they loved their jobs and all of the kids they work with. Being an educator myself, I know how much I love my students. Feeling this love from all the staff at EPC was enough to convince me that this was the daycare for us. If that's not enough to convince YOU, here are some more perks of EPC: - Free diapers and wipes in the baby room. This really cut down on our diaper costs for those months! - Breakfast/lunch/snacks are included once babies are old enough to enjoy finger foods. One less thing for mom/dad to worry about! - Pictures and updates are sent via an app throughout the day. Best part of my day is seeing all the amazing activities my son is doing! - Easy and immediate communication via the app. You can send messages directly to the teachers and the director. They've always gotten back to me within a few minutes of sending anything. - Teachers are provided with ongoing professional development. I know that my son isn't just being well taken care of, but he's actually learning new things and thriving at EPC. - They never close. Like ever. Finally, given that this is COVID times, I must say that the staff at EPC has done an amazing job keeping everything clean and safe. In our 7 months there, we have only needed to quarantine once and EPC refunded us for all of the days that we missed. This is just the nature of the COVID beast but the refund really shows how much EPC cares about doing right by their families. We love EPC!!
