Their ATM machine stole $200 in cash that I was trying to deposit. The machine stated "We cannot process the deposit". And even worse it stated "We cannot return the cash to you." It even gave me a receipt stating as much. I walked into the branch to get my $200 back and they said I have to file a claim with my credit union (an affiliate of theirs). I told them that made no sense. It's their ATM that screwed up. Just look up the transaction. They said they can't help me. Even seemed annoyed that I was pressing the issue. They reiterated that even though it is their ATM they cannot help me. And that was the end of the conversation. I walked out. If you only need to use the ATM, this CU is okay. I needed a Cashiers Check today, so I called to ask them if they issued cashiers checks. The woman I spoke to told me that they did and that they cost $7.50. I asked her if I could pay for it with my debit card , and I told her I was a member of another credit union. She told me I would have to pay with cash because their system wasn't set up for that. All is good and fine. I immediately drive over to the credit union and get the cash from the ATM. I enter the credit union, and I tell her I want to buy a cashiers check. She asks me for my member number. I told her I was a member of a co-op credit union. She tells me they can only perform this service for members. I asked who did I just speak to that told me I could pay for it with cash? There were three people in the office, and she plays stupid and shrugs her shoulders. One of the women was in an office on the phone. The other woman shook her head to tell me no. I ended up going to the post office and bought a money order instead. When I got home I looked at my notes. The person I talked to on the phone was the first woman who told me they only could do it for their members. Why lie? Why not just tell me she had made a mistake. My Father is dying of pancreatic cancer. He forgot to close this account and they charged him $294 in fees. He called to close his account because I control his money now. They refused until he pays the fees. Not money he overdrafted or something he truly owes, just fees. He called and the man in the loan department asked him if he wants to make payments to pay this off. WHat kind of Credit Union is this? Don't bank here! Run! How is this place still in business? Pros: friendly teller Cons: non competitive. As of 1 week ago, it was offering 3 months CD for less than 1%. For cashier's check written to myself or 3rd party, it costs $7.5. In contrast, my other credit union is offering 4% for 9months and free cashier's check to myself. When i brought the lack of competitveness to First City's attention, it was met with indifference. It did offer its financial planner to reach out to me. He has not contacted me in over 1 week. Last year i made less than $100 in interest. I will have made more than than this year in less time with my other credit union. Taking my money else where. read more

deposited a check this afternoon they put a hold on it until 3/24 then they tell me they are going to return it cause my name wasnt on the check just my business was but my name was on the check they tell me its gonna take 10 to 14 days to return check by mail. i went to a credit union cause i thought they were good but nope they are thieves just like Wells fargo and other institutions closing my account and never opening a bank acct again with any financial institute i work hard for my $ and being a small business owner need every penny i can get they screwed me over. A convenient, uncrowded place for your credit union needs. I needed to deposit some cashola into the ATM, but standing out in the heat wasn't a fun idea, so I headed into the small branch and its A/C. Couldn't help but overhear the tellers.... all very nice and friendly, and they seemed to know what they were doing. I went back out to use the ATM, which isn't anything fancy. Except one thing, which caught me on a previous visit. I came on a Saturday, and there were no more deposit envelopes... blah! Well, this not-so-fancy ATM has one secret... if you are depositing, it will ask you if you need an envelope. Select "yes" and one comes out. Nifty... perhaps a sign saying , "Envelopes available from ATM" would have been nice. Anyway, it's in a convenient location with plenty of street parking (usually), and since the ATM is outside, you can call it 24/7. It's in a really good neighborhood, but there are a couple of blind spots, if things like that freak you out. read more

HORRIBLE!! Transferred me THREE times and nobody knew what they were talking about. Paid of a car in March and when I called today to understand why I hadn't received the title yet and why they were still showing as the legal owner, they insisted they could do nothing!!! Continued to insist that they had electronically released the title even though a KSR showed that NOTHING had been updated with this title since 2009!! After being transferred various times, they told me they can send me a lien release and I'd have to go to the DMV myself!! When I asked them to PLEASE overnight the lien release, they said they didn't have to because they were doing ME a favor! Excuse me? YOU GUYS DIDNT DO YOUR JOB AND THEN TELL ME YOURE DOING ME A FAVOR?!? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Never want to do business with these lazy liars EVER again! read more

Don't be fooled, the ATM outside is not available 24 hours a day. I have mistakenly come to this location twice now in the early AM around 5:30 to use it and the screen is blank (completely black) and doesn't respond. My husband and I have banked with first city for many years now, we usually dealt with one particular individual for all of our banking needs. She made our experience absolutely amazing ! I actually looked forward to dealing with her because she made things very simple and quick she also had a great attitude every time we saw her. Unfortunately she left for a while and during that time frame we didn't visit the branch as much we actually started banking somewhere else, still keeping the accounts open. My husband and I decided to go in one day to the Claremont branch where much to our surprise we saw her working there ! I've done a bunch of loans with First City over the years, paid one off, opened another and so on and so forth never missing a payment. Lately as I've called them to see about working a new deal to have them take over a car payment for me, from the get go I was told I should stay with my current lender because it's a little better than they could do. I usually like going through first city because when I make my monthly payment they deduct it from my paycheck and I'm not having to cut a check, which I like. I'm not stupid and I know 8% is better than 10% I didn't need to be told that. Jose Gongora was my loan officer and he came up with every way and reason in the book why I couldn't get the loan. Mind you I have good income and have never missed a payment and have a good credit score. As he told me some reasons why it wasn't going to work for example "you can only have this much unsecured debt so I can only loan you this small amount" and I would counter "ya I only have this much" which is less, so it should be ok, he would say ya but they have some policy so it's not going to work. I've never had so many road blocks before and I'm pretty knowledgeable in this area. None of it made any sense and the whole feeling was like I was trying to borrow money from a friend that found EVERY reason why he couldn't loan the money. It was very frustrating and unlike anything I had experienced before. I don't know if I should start avoiding First City all together now or just Jose Gongora. I'm definitely left frustrated and not wanting to deal with that again. read more

I call to speak with the rep at the bank, she stated that I could simply walk in a pay? I live an hour and half away from this bank.
