Worst bank experience ever. I was invited to apply for a credit card and submitted my application. After receiving a counteroffer, I provided all the requested documents, but no one followed up with me. Now, I've noticed another inquiry on my credit report, and I still haven't received the product or offer I was promised. This is completely unacceptable for a financial institution. I requested a follow-up from a manager a long time ago, but no one has reached out to resolve the issue. I will be filing a formal complaint with the NCUA regarding this experience. read more

I've been with Rize, formerly known as SCE Federal Credit Union, for 8 years now. I've had multiple loans with them. There's a reason I trust this bank to grant me the best rates and the best service...because no bank compares! I have tried to compare rates and every time I come back to Rize they remind me why I stay in the first place. I had the pleasure of taking out a loan with Sally Alvarez who was so so nice and attentive. She was quick to call me for additional info, confirmed multiple times, and was able to get me the cash within 24 hours. She is a rockstar! I've never had a issue with them and I am so glad to have found them years ago when I loaned my first car. Though I don't have any branches near by, most things can be done remotely (if this is a concern for you). Honestly anyone who has an issue with this bank is likely insanely picky. SCE FCU was the best! As a SCE employee for over 25 years, it was hard to find anything better RIZE is a joke and THE worst customer service ever! I have been disconnected several times on chat And told several diff times they couldn't put a stop payment on a pending charge (that wasn't mine) they needed 3 days to do so! They were more than willing to charge me, though for just inquiring! The ladies on chat are rude and for the most part, under qualified to be handling customer service You should all be ashamed ! read more

This place keeps going down hill ever since they switched over to Rize it's sad that you can not get help from the bank teller on your questions because she shows that she really doesn't give a crap I asked about direct deposit and about a setting up something else and she said flat out it wasn't her problem to help me it is a lot better yet less convenient that I have to call the 1-800 number to get help. We have been faithful customers of Rize (previous SCE) for 7 years. We consistently pay on time and keep track of what we owe. They lack a lot of organization in how they handle peoples information. We have updated several things (insurance information) over the course of our loans and they never receive our updates and end up charging us fees and we have to constantly call back and fix the issue. They also continue to send us letters saying we are past due but we set up an automatic payment and our payment is always on time. It is very frustrating. The only plus is their customer service on the phone. They answer quickly and are kind. Other than that, please choose another company that has things under control! read more

I'm not entirely sure what's happened to this credit union over this past year or so. Ever since the name change, it has not felt like the same credit union to me and my mom have been with for years. She recently left to a competitor and I'm thinking of doing the same. I applied for a credit card a few days ago, the lady said her system was having problems but she had all the information she needed for me to apply. Says she would call me back, that was on thursday and it's now sunday, no word back. After hours help doesn't seem very helpful at all either. If you want to confirm something as simple as your bank account number, they can't even do that much. You have to wait for a business day for them to do something as simple as confirming your bank account number. I really used to love this credit union but it might be time to find something else. read more

I had SCE FCU close to 40 years. I only had one issue in all that time. Rize takes over and I have had to call twice in three weeks. They have the works customer service I have experienced. It wasn't until I talked to three different people and then followed up with an email that I got someone who had heard of customer service before. This week the person argued with me about what I was seeing in my account. I can't believe after 40 years I may have to change banks. Terrible customer service. Try calling close to 4pm they pick up and hang up on you. It's extremely hard to get someone who can actually help you. If you do get someone on the line they just transfer you and you wait and wait just so no one ever gets on the line. The chat is just the same because they can't help with everything since they say they have limited access but yet encourage callers to try the chat. I had to go into the branch to get connected there to apply for an auto loan because no one picks up. We waited 20 minutes there in a room where you get connected thru video. One of the guys working there said they've had a lot of complaints and he thinks it's because they work from home. Was having problems with service from Arrowhead Bank on Sierra and Renaissance Parkway in Fontana; this location is strictly for ATM transactions; most of the time their machines are not working. Called SCEFCU and git representative named Elizabeth. She was very helpful and found a full service affiliate that was actually closer to my work location. Got two auto leases from this bank through Tustin Toyota about three weeks apart. Online banking is extremely not user-friendly. One of the leases is a joint account and the other is just for myself. Believe it or not this financial institution requires me to create two separate logins for the SAME bank so I can view each Account. After calling several times and spending several hours on the phone letting me know they can adjust us I was finally given an answer that for "credit reporting purposes "I would need two separate logins. It made absolutely no sense to me after having several accounts with me and my wife at major banks and never having to deal with something so illogical and inconvenient. Definitely would not recommend based on how credit unions are never up with the times and how I was basically lied to by customer service. read more

I've been banking with them since I was in high school, so about 11yrs and growing! I've seen tellers move up or go on to other things. Every single one of them have always had amazing service! They don't treat you like just an account like a regular bank would. When you come in you are treated like family! Always there to answer any questions, help with loans, & refinancing in any way they can. They try hard for you, not just say "sorry, you don't qualify, ok next!" No! They do what they can to help! I went in for a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) for some home upgrades I wanted to have done, as well as my tax guy recommending I get one to write off the interest. I went in, without an appointment in February, and was lucky to have Michelle Gomez help me within minutes. She told me that it should take about 4 - 6 weeks for everything to fund, as long as I provided all the information which was requested immediately (most recent paycheck sub, proof of insurance, etc). She helped me fill out the paperwork on the spot and I was done in less than 20 minutes. I was called 2 hours later and told I was approved for $25k, which was more than what I needed. Michelle kept me informed of what was going on along the way, and I was funded in just under 4 weeks. Michelle is wonderful and explains everything and never rushed me. Lately the customer service due to the personnel corporate selects and trains to serve customers have severely affected their image. I have been banking with SCE for over a decade and have seen great people and in the last two years, have experienced a decline. The tellers are cliques that are snidely and sarcastic. I am not the only person stating this. Friends that I have recommended in the past have indicated this too. If you don't want to deal with tellers and only do banking through ATMs then this is your bank/credit union. Love this credit union. Small enough to be treated like a valued customer but large enough to have all the perks of larger institutions. My husband and I used this credit union about 2 years ago for an auto loan refinance. We had Lizeth Lopez help us and she did a great job getting us in and out, even making everything very smooth for us. In 2 years our car was hit head on and considered a total loss.
