I opened a Certificate of Deposit and transferred $180K from Wells Fargo Bank. Citibank flagged my…read moreaccount for fraud for whatever reason. After about 10 days, several phone calls to the Citibank Fraud Department, and several trips to the bank, my funds were cleared. Bank employee Ricardo Larios was very professional and courteous during my interactions with him. However, my experience otherwise was very frustrating, including the manager telling me he would take care of me, and stating that he would call me when the funds were available (no longer being held hostage), but he never did. And the Fraud Department even hung up on me once. Citibank is a horrible bank. Their lines are long and slow going because they typically only have one teller window open. I closed my accounts and took my money back to Wells Fargo Bank, where I receive much better customer service. If you're considering doing business with Citibank I highly recommend that you go elsewhere.
