Run away, don't walk away from this company! I gave Ryan a $2600 deposit with an agreement start date. Did not show or contact me. I contacted him after a couple of tries and he claimed a family emergency. Okay, things happen. Oh, he was to bring my contract to sign on the Monday after I give the deposit. No Show! Wait and wait, still no contact. I attempted several more times, no response. Now I'm getting frustrated and worried about our job and deposit. I've given Ryan Duncan plenty of opportunity to contact me. I'm talking early May til mid June. Now I do a google search of Ryan Duncan St. George and you should too! Now I'm confident I've been scammed. Luckily I paid deposit with my credit card. So I file a dispute with VISA. Only then does he contact me with more excuses. Anyway more failing to show claims he can't refund my card, etc... Now July he said says money back on "cc" Nope! Do a google search William Ryan Duncan and use your best judgment if you want to do business ‍ with this company. This guy has more excuses than my 15 year old daughter! Do NOT recommend! Quick with a smile and timely in response getting your business but don't be fooled, Eric and Ryan are both showy salespeople. Once they complete the job you are on your own. Do not be tricked with the "one-year" plant guarantee or "we are licensed". You will need to constantly remind them via text+email+phone to replace dead plants for which they may or may not do. We had multiple dead plants because they forgot to install the drip line actually near the plant or they planted an already dead plant for which Eric will try to convince you is "dormant". He will then have the audacity to tell you it's a "satisfaction" problem on your end for wanting the dead plants replaced. Who would be "satisfied" with dead or dying plants? We've also had issues with the decorative gravel. Richard dumped black lava rock on top of light tan gravel so the light tan gravel is poking through the lava rock now. I was even charged for additional gravel. Who would want mixed-up gravel? It's a mess? Additionally, both the front and back yard flood with even minimal rain from poor grading and drainage. We have multiple texts+emails+verbal conversations from both Ryan and Eric stating they will fix the plants, gravel, and drainage issues but they have not completed all of the issues as promised. This is not a "patience" or "satisfaction" problem. The original new construction service was Jan 2021, it is now Dec 2021. Last communication Eric would prefer we post negative reviews on the internet and take them to small claims court as opposed to just finishing the job as promised. Bottom line, First-class is half class when it comes to following through and completing a job. About a week ago I posted about 1st Class Landscaping not finishing projects. The owner Eric contacted me right away to explain what had happened and took care of everything and then some the next day. Here are the new photos of the turf and wall that were not finished but are finished now. They also leveled out the flagstone that had shifted over time and the elements plus added about a half a ton of rocks where they had become thin. I am giving 1st Class Landscaping a solid 5 of 5. If the ratings scale went to 10, my rating would be a 10. The folks there have earned my total and complete satisfaction. My experience began as I looked for a landscaping contractor to landscape the back yard of our new home. I had a bad experience with the landscape contractor used by our home builder; consequently, I was a little gun shy, wondering if I could pick a good one, even an excellent one. I searched online, found the contractors with the best reviews and called each of them. Nobody answered their phone, sending me to voicemail. I left careful, detailed messages with each. Eric, at 1st Class, was the only one who called me back, calling back in less than an hour, :) He set an appointment for the first part of the following week. :) He came to that appointment on time.:) We walked through the project. Eric *listened* to my ideas and made some excellent suggestions. At the conclusion of the meeting he told me he would take the proposed plan back to the office, work up the numbers and send me a proposal in a couple of days. And he did. :) We reviewed and signed the proposal and set the date for the project to begin. And it did, again on time. :) The crew that came to house was great! Jim, the crew lead, came to me at the very beginning and asked about the type of plants we were interested in. Living in this high desert was new for us and we were complete novices. But, in visits to St. George's Red Cliffs Desert Garden and to the largest local nursery, we found exactly what we really wanted. Early on, I told Jim that what I wanted at the end of the job was WOW! He and his co-workers delivered WOW! The guys were great! They made great suggestions and listened to my ideas and concerns. They were polite and fun and worked very hard and tended to the details and they cleaned up everything before they left. Cody came by frequently to make sure everything was going according to plan, checking with me to make sure I was happy. And in the end, I got exactly what I wanted. WOW! Double WOW!! I had them install a flagstone patio for me and it was done on time. When it was finished, I was not completely happy as the stones were a little further apart that I thought they would be. I called the owner and he came out a reviewed the job with me. To make me completely happy he offered to have the patio taken up and the gaps made smaller. Instead we agreed that they would replace the chat (grout) between the stones with red chat that matched the stones. It now looks great and I am completely satisfied. I really appreciate their "the customer must be completely satisfied and happy with the job before we consider it done" attitude. read more
