We ordered $30k worth of sliders and windows from First Impressions and this was only the back of the house. The rep Nick came out and spoke to us about our options. We added screens and handles to the outside sliders and we're told screens come with the windows. We were told 8 weeks for delivery but that went way over with out any follow up from anyone there. I had to call 5 to 6 times just to hear I will call you back and they never did. When the team came out for the installation. Not a single piece of furniture was covered up. Dust covered my home from top to bottom. I just wanted them out when they were done so I could spend the next few days cleaning up after them. There were two broken screens, the doors are installed backwards and 5here are no handles on the outside sliders. I have been calling and calling and Evin will not return my call and they are telling me I have to pay $600 more for the correct screens that they miss ordered. read more

Outrageouly bad service and no follow up, stay away from this place if you value your money, I bought double front door and door handles (aka pulls) from them. Be aware that this company only sells the hardware, the install and painting they farm out to 3rd parties, I had issues with the paint after a few month, painter ghosted me even though he gave me a 5 Years warranty. One of my door handles started to come loose. It took 2 months to schedule an appointment for technician to come out with a dose calls and many missed appointments. When he finally showed up the technician came with a small Allen wrench and told us the screw is stripped and he would have to cut off the handle to replace with new. It would cost $1000 nor under warranty because the screw is stripped. I called the store at least a dozen times, no call back was ever received and they also ghosted me. This place has no interest in doing anything but sell the doors and hardware, they don't care about their customers at all. STAY AWAY! read more

We purchased a new hurricane door from First Impressions in July of 2024 and it was installed early October 2024. No problems with installation and the door passed inspection immediately. Our problems began with the Schlage hardware satin nickel when we noticed in early January that our hinges were rusting. We were advised to fill out a service request and finally had to go into the store and try to find out what was going on after waiting days for a response. The store did order and replace the hinges. Then on 2/27/25 we noticed that the satin nickel film is peeling off and here it is 4/15/25 and we are still waiting for that hardware to be replaced. Neither the store owner, manager or our salesman has ever reached out to us regarding our concern over the quality of the hardware they sold us. So who knows what will happen when the one year warranty is up on this seemingly shoddy hardware. We paid $6000.00 for this door and I certainly expected a better product and better service. read more

He did a great job super using the installation and the changes that needed to be made when the building specs changed. The doors are beautiful and 2 months in seem to insulate our home much better than our previous doors. I wanted solid wood doors for an older house. There were no door samples to view at the showroom and none would be ordered. I am disappointed in what I finally got. Service took forever to arrive even though doors were from an instate supplier. The doors were put into a cheap frame with unacceptable hinges and holes drilled in them where someone else decided a knob should be located. The thickness of the doors was not what I expected - too thin, especially for the price. The sticking craftsmanship was just ok. Gaps will have to be fixed by the painter. The trash hinges will be thrown out - some cheap metal in a rounded brushed silver color. The door stop is cheap rectangular wood - no detail. It is not put on the door frame in level lines so the door won't close properly and none of the pin nail holes are filled. With the disappointing product, amateur prep and long lead time-- just order online. read more

Horrible experience. I ended up having to hire my own carpenters to fix the doors that I bought from them. $10,000 spent on doors and Randy wouldn't return my call or respond to my emails. Run fast and far from this place. Here is a list of what went wrong - it's pretty sad... * 4 doors came completely damaged. Two were sent for repair and were damaged AGAIN on delivery. I ended up having to pay my own carpenters to fix the doors. * I never received the door that I ordered for the linen closet. I ended up making my own door out of cabinet material. * None of the doors came with roller catches or even the cutout for them. We had to cut the tops of the doors and install. * My pivot hardware was never installed in the one door even though I was charged for it. Then the hardware was lost and finally after many calls/emails/texts it was found and delivered back to me. Still never installed in the door and no cutout from the factory. I had to do all of this. * 2 of the doors came warped. * Almost half of the screws were missing from the hinges. When I inquired about it - I was told that you guys ran out of screws, so you put in as many as you had. I ended up having to buy my own and install them. * A couple doors have both gold and silver colored hinges on the same door which is weird. I ended up swapping for the same color/matching hinges. * One door was made with the incorrect swing. * More than half of the doorstop was installed backwards. On the same door (out of 3 stops) you might have two that have the rounded edge showing and one that has the 90-degree edge showing. It was all over the place. I don't think a single door had all of the stops in the same direction. * 2 doors had the incorrect jamb size. We had to custom make our own jambs on-site. read more

My Husband was upgrading our windows and doors to hurricane impact and purchased a door which was a beautiful door, a few years later the door cracked and feel off the hinges, could not find my info after my husband passed. Called someone to fix the door and was told that it was installed wrong and that's why it cracked, no hurricane screws to hold the door in place. We purchased 8 new solid wood interior doors and one exterior door (currently on order) as well as hardware for each of our selections. The showroom was well laid out so we could browse on our own prior to meeting with an associate. Allan and Jose were very helpful and very responsive. They guided our selections by answering questions both in person and on the phone and we had lots of questions. Jose came out to do final measurements and we felt very lucky to have found this company with great customer service and fabulous doors that are very well made. Our visit to FIDAM, left us with a terrible First and otherwise impression. We were the only customers there, and despite FIDAM having at least three ppl on the "sales" floor, not only were we not welcomed, we were insulted. The greeter asked us to wait in the "Lobby", and when we finally met the salesperson Tim, he was immediately dismissive and down right rude. They barely allowed us to look at the doors on display. Tim was very critical and would not share any information or detail. Serious customer service training is needed, as well as basic humanity. I have 8 windows, one front entry door, and 6 sets of sliders I am replacing. I went to FIDAM on the advice of a trusted Contractor, but the misogynistic treatment I received forced me to go elsewhere. I called earlier this week to get some information on replacing our double entry doors with hurricane doors. I was told that I would be called right back. I was never called. I called today to follow up and the guy on the phone did not appear to know much about hurricane doors at all. We have had a few quotes ranging from 5-6k. After giving him the information, he called me back with a quote of 11k!!! I asked if he was sure as this was double other quotes from reputable companies. The door is pretty. a standard size frosted glass fiberglass door. Nice hardware. But the numbers don't come installed and they don't paint the door either and the sticker on the door says it requires special paint that cost $165 a gallon. Also for what I paid I feel like these were two things that should have been included in price. I would do a better job next time getting prices because these guys are $$$$. read more

I ordered my door replacement over the phone with Freddas I live up north. The process was easy and all went as smoothly as possible. I was onsite for installation. The installer called me to confirm everything in advance and all of the permits were filed. They did a very neat and thorough install and passed inspection with flying colors. It is not a great first impression to visit the showroom twice and wait for a call back or follow up evaluation of your door that needs to be replaced. It is never good to speculate but, when you express that you want your front door replaced instead of the suggestion " if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can just replace the sweep on the door and buy a new peep hole online". After a very pleasant phone call and email correspondence, we found some "not so easy to find" moulding to repair some of our baseboards for our home. We have had two sets of doors from First Impressions-- Our front doors are gorgeous & we replaced a set of sliders to hurricane impact French doors. Randy & the guys are professional, they'll help you through the process, & the quality of the product and installation cannot be matched.
