My friend and I just went here, and I think it's one of the best mani pedis I've ever had! I think his name was Luke who did my mani pedi. He was absolutely wonderful. He gave a really good foot massage with hot stones; that made the whole experience feel luxurious! Dip chipped after one day. Didn't use buffer or file I knew sitting in the chair that it would chip after one day, but I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt by not saying anything. My experience after a few years absence will have me not coming back. I had my gel nails done on the Saturday right before Xmas. One of the nails feel off during my Xmas celebration. This is at 5 days after being done. Lynn the manager did my daughters nails. We requested Gel X and after one day the nails started falling off. Additionally, manicurist chose the wrong color the first time, took it off, then proceeded with a new color. During the manicure she mentioned she did not have the right brush to do the design as requested AFTER she already started. Simple artwork was not left with a clean, quality design. It cost us $71.40. She did not use cuticle oil, left the nails an uneven length overall and left dust on the nails. No moisturizer, no gloss. Very disappointed overall. So after day one of them falling off we went back to salon to share concerns. No interest in issuing a refund. We will never return. read more

The worst. Out of the 4 of us, 3 got cuts and were bleeding. The person who was servicing me first didn't want to cut my toenails because they were already short (not). Then the person next to her ended up showing her to the side and cutting them. Then the original person proceeded to give me the absolute worst polish job on my nails I have ever seen. They look horrendous. And less than 3 hours later they are all coming off, so whatever was in the bottle was not the real polish. And the woman tending to me spoke zero, seriously not one word of English. Then, icing on the cake, paying $320 for the 4 of us, there is a convenience charge of $7. I would not go back here even if they paid me to do so. It's a shame to have a shop like this in Healdsburg. read more

I always look forward to visiting First Nails! I get really relaxing pedicures from any of the employees. They have brand new massage chairs that are super comfy! I usually go to Lynn or Luke for a gel mani. My nails never peel or crack, which is why I keep coming back. Whenever I have gone to other shops my polish always peels. I only go back around the 3 week mark to get another mani because my nails have grown out! Lynn and Luke help me keep my nails healthy and strong. I've come here a few times now and I've been over all happy leaving. I got a pedicure a couple weeks ago which includes an awesome massage and warm stones. If I wasn't shy I'd fall asleep in the chair . I came back today because my nails are super weak and got a dip manicure with Lynn. She was super attentive and sweet and did a great job. Originally the color I chose was too bright so she found one that I am actually really happy with and is similar to what I had in mind. I used to "salon hop" when First Nails was too busy, but not any more. They really are worth waiting for or coming back for that great LASTING gel mani. Went for a powder dip manicure. After soaking my fingertips in acetone for about 25 minutes and aggressive sanding I was ready to start. They didn't have the color I selected from their samples so they decided to give me another brighter pink without my consultation. When I stopped part way through and said this wasn't my color they again made the decision on their own to just do a final dip of sparkly white to lighten things up. It was a disaster but my manicurist made the decision- against the owners pushiness- to remove it and offer another color..... so another 25 minutes in acetone and I pulled the plug. I wasn't having anyone there touching my nails again nor would I recommend anyone else. read more

The guy that did my nails acted like he didn't want to be there, and his nail fill reflected it. I had my nails done two weeks ago, and after just a few days the the nails were grabbing my hair when I washed or ran fingers thru it. On top of that, I told him that one had popped further than what he drilled it back to. I mentioned it would gap and grow fungas. Well, guess what's happening. I can see a dark spot developing UNDER my polish! I've had acrylic since 1982. I did my own for 25 of those yrs. This was a sloppy job at best. For $60+ for a fill, this was not worth my time or money. Worst yet was his attitude. The woman in there was nice. But I won't go back because of him. If you dont like your job..get a different one. read more
