There were several spots to sit and have a quiet moment on the property and there was tea and water and nuts available in multiple spots. I had the cedar bath followed by the fusion massage. The cedar bath is a very unique experience and felt grounding and comforting. It was indeed special and a unique experience and it is something I will likely come back for. Now the not so positive...the showers and changing rooms are quite small and very well lived in. The shower curtain had a mold like smell and considering how immaculate the gardens are, I am surprised they have not invested some funds into updating the indoor facilities, especially because the services are priced fairly high. I went on a Monday and my locker room wasn't busy but I can imagine it may get busy on the weekends because they are small and do not have much room for more than 1-2 people at a time. My massage was mediocre at best. I regularly get Swedish massages and do not require a lot of pressure but the massage therapist was very gentle and at times I felt like I was being softly pet and not massaged. I asked for more pressure five times and after that it started getting awkward for me. She also did not ask me if I wanted my scalp massaged and did this at the end and left my hair quite oily. I normally agree to the scalp massage but did not want to wash my hair after. In all the massages I have had, the therapist usually asks before using oil on the scalp. Finally, I paid the upgrade fee to have my massage in the Pagoda. It was a hot day so the therapist kept the door open and then later shut it due to bugs. After I left I counted (and took some pictures which I will spare the internet) of 9 huge mosquito bites. It's been 12 hours and I am still itching! I think I will give this spa one more shot because of the cedar bath but I may skip the other services.

There was a hydrafacial representative at the event I got my mini (15 minute) hydrafacial done at today. She confirmed my feelings that A- my experience at wine country day spa did not properly perform the service (I had an excess of product on my skin applied by Edie that prevented the hydrafacial to effectively perform the service) and B- the machine used to perform the hydrafacial was a much older less effective model. I have still gotten zero response from wine country day spa regarding my experience. Customer service should be high up on the list of priorities. Had I gotten a response from Edie regarding my experience maybe she could have made it right but too little too late. I wasted money going here trying to find the best price around. You get what you pay for... Or not in this case because it was still super expensive.

The reflexology, which I anticipated to be focused on my , ended up feeling more like a full-body massage, which was a bit surprising but still relaxing. The scalp massage, on the other hand, was simply lovely, though I felt the scrub portion went on a bit longer than necessary, making that part of the experience too long. My friend had a great time with her services, although she did mention that it would be nice if the shower used for rinsing off the body scrub was a bit more upgraded--currently, it's tucked away in an odd room, which felt slightly odd. The overall experience was enjoyable and we will be back. The head spa treatment was my fav. I loved the scalp analysis, the cleansing, and especially the Therapeutic scalp massage. Jacqueline set a specific date and time for my girlfriend and me; and, we had the whole spa to ourselves. 2) Excellent Service: Jacqueline prepared champaigne, Japanese tea, croissants, and grapes for us upon our arrival to her spa. She believes in strict quality control in the massages and facials; hence, she personally provides the facial and massages. She has no staff. 3) Facials and Massages: The massages and facials she gave my girlfriend and me were amazing and so relaxing. She is a certified massage therapist and is knowledgeable in all disciplines of massages; and, she provides one unique type of massage called, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi. She is also a certified licensed esthetician -- her facials are full service, so expect to spend a little over an hour in her care. 4) Products: Jacqueline will not sell any products unless she knows the products provide results that meet her high standard of care. 5) Price and Quality: A lot of times, price and quality do not go hand in hand. Not so, with Kokeshi Spa. I get a good price without losing the quaility of the experience and product. I live in San Francisco; and, I will make the trek up to Santa Rosa to visit Kokeshi Spa. There is one adult pool, nextdoor. I would have loved to give this spa 5 stars, but the steam room was under construction and there isn't an entry from the spa to the pool area. The pools are in the center of the hotel property. Also disappointed that the spa robes don't have pockets.
