Lived near here for almost a year. Sad I didn't stop in sooner! Came today for a drink, and, ended up getting some to go food for dinner. Good drink specials. Good food! All (or at least mostly) homemade. All other customers that were eating were saying how good their food is. I'll try mine later tonight (got some food for dinner so I don't have to cook anything later). I got their gyro and chicken quesadillas. Service is super friendly and attentive. Drinks and food are usually good, but service is very hit or miss. Last few times I've been there the bartenders have been quite/standoffish and have just had bad attitudes. I'd understand when it's busy, but when there's two bartenders working and the bar is at half capacity and I get greeted with a stern "what do you want?" and get glared at every time I want another round, it does not make me want to come back, regardless of how good the drinks are. read more

Im the neighbor hood and have been going there since they opened. It's a neighborhood bar in an out of the way strip mall. The food is good not great but they have good specials. The service is reasonable considering the turnover they experience as a small family owned business. The facilities are reasonable but not franchise quality. I don't understand the 1 star ratings; it seems lIke just trolling the place. It's not a dive. It used the to be a lot livelier but the village cracked down on some of their activities. Now it's just a reasonable neighborhood sports bar with a lot of regulars so the "ambience" won't compete with bars in the highfalutin shopping centers a few miles away. We live down the street from the First Place Sports Bar and have never gone. So, after a movie one night, a few of us decided to give it a go. First of all, the place is a real dive bar. It is not well appointed and the restroom was disgustingly dirty. But, let's put that aside. It is possible that someone just made a real mess and management hadn't realized it yet. I will update next time I go there. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The onion rings were clearly frozen but they did taste okay. Their menu is actually quite large - mostly what you would consider "bar food", but I guess that fits, doesn't it? They have a nice drink menu and a pretty well stocked bar. They also have nightly specials on drinks and on food. There were not a lot of people there - they have a few video poker machines a pool table and a couple of dart boards. And, it is a sports bar so they do have TVs strategically placed around the room. They also have an electronic jukebox which someone had cranked up high - so it was very loud. We want to go back to try the food next time. And, if i find the restrooms are clean that time, I will probably increase my rating. read more

The point of a sports bar is to root for your team and have fun. This is an OK strip mall neighborhood place. Its more bar than restaurant for most - on a Wednesday noon, the seats at the bar were almost all taken, and no one was at the tables but us. The upside is that the food is pretty good and quite reasonable. I had the Philly Steak sandwich on the recommendation of the waitress/bartender. It was quite good and with a side of seasoned fries, only $8. Service was very friendly and surprisingly efficient, especially considering she was covering the whole place herself. What is the point of a sports bar If you get kicked out for cheering for your teammate for getting a bullseye in darts. No swearing, nothing inappropriate. We were told we had to be quiet because it was dinner hour, at 930 pm on a Wednesday. When we questioned it, because it didn't make sense, she started swearing at us, kicked us out and called the cops. Who of course did nothing to us. As if the world needed another sports bar! I have to say though, this one is better than most. Small but comfortable with all of the flat screens you could hope for, a professional staff and far better than average food. I never waited for a drink and when the bill came I didn't have to be revived. It's easy to stay for an entire Cubs game and be relaxed. Located in a strip mall (I know), there's plenty of parking. If you're a smoker, there's no problem with taking your beverage outside with you. No doubt you'll meet some nice people if you are the least bit gregarious. Where do I start. Best sandwiches in north Hoffman Estates by a mile! The reuben is to die for as well as all burger selections. All servings are well sized and quality ingredients are used across all menu items. The bar itself is an open, yet cozy, and is bery well lit for a bar/grill. The drinks are well priced and kegs are kept fresh on all brews I enjoy. Also, the staff makes this my go-to hometown bar. They are fast and great to talk to and have no problem making you feel like your at the best home town bar possible. HIGHLY recommend if you enjoy quality food, drink and company. read more

Their menu has finally been added to their website. I've been waiting for this for quite some time as I'm always too busy to come in and get a menu and order but I've been wanting to try their bar food that I keep hearing about. This review is for my TO GO order, not for in bar. I ordered pickled fries, tater tots, and seasoned fries. Fried Food Overload. The pickled fries were good, I would order them again. We ordered the tater tots and the seasoned fries because we weren't sure on their portion size and we wanted to make sure we had enough potato side. Well the portions are decent and the one side of tater tots would have been perfect for us, it's definitely not a "side" portion. Now, I do want to say that when I first received my food and brought it home I found my styrofoam boxes completely melted and gross. I tried to suck it up and eat the food but the food tasted like styrofoam so I had to call and let them know my food was inedible. They were really nice about it and made me a new batch and made sure to put some paper underneath my food to ensure it didn't happen again (I do have to say they really should have done that from the beginning but they made it right and that's what really counts). I will definitely be ordering from there again and hopefully I'll make it in there in the future to see how their in house experience compares.
