    Grilled Asparagus
    Ian N.

Great place to watch sports with what seems like a 100 or more screens. This place has some serious eats. We had the chips and gauc to start. I had the BRAISED POT ROAST slowly braised angus beef, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, onion strings and a side of asparagus. It was excellent. The pot roast was so tender. The asparagus was grilled and seasoned to perfection. My son tried the BRAISED SHORT RIB FOOT LONG GRILLED CHEESE mushrooms, monterey, cheddar & mozzarella cheese. He said it was the best grilled cheese ever. They also had draft pints on for $4. The service was amazing and the server knew the menu inside and out. The ambiance is amazing for all sporting events. Check it out.

I've been to Westwood Tavern twice, once with my husband for an early dinner on New Year's Eve, and once a few weeks later with friends for lunch. Both visits were perfect. On New Year's Eve, coincidentally, it was on a Wednesday, the day they discount their martinis, so I tried a couple different discounted ones that were very tasty, and then I closed with a Cinnaspresso Martini with my dessert. I had the Prime Rib Dip sandwich, which was full of meat and very flavorful. My sandwich was large, so I took half of it with me to enjoy later. My husband had the Braised Pot Roast, which I took a small taste of, and it was delicious, too. For dessert he had the lava cake, while I sipped on my cinnaspresso martini and enjoyed a piece of what I think was tres leches cake, with fresh berries (plus he gave me his scoop of ice cream). On my second visit, I had the Southwest Salad, hold the beans, add chicken. It also was very tasty. I recommended the Prime Rib Dip to my friends, and they loved it, too. I also had a Manhattan, my usual drink, and it was very nicely crafted. Service both times was excellent - just the right amount of attentiveness and friendliness. This will now be one of my go-to places when I'm in Schaumburg!

We stopped in on a Sunday to watch some football and have a snack. We were seated immediately in a cute booth with many tv's in view. We ordered the warm bread and the pulled chicken nachos and a few soft drinks (my husband might have ordered a beer)... or food arrived in a timely manner and was warm. Service was fine, nothing special. Our food was fine, nothing special. I do believe we ended up going someplace else to have dinner because we left hungry.

Have been here quite a few times and really enjoy the southwest chicken salad. Nothing super fancy but it does pack some good flavor and I like the fried onions on top for some crunch. Our server this last time was very kind and attentive. They can also split checks for small groups either down the middle or by item on their handheld card readers which is a plus. The restaurant is two levels and has a lot of seating but can definitely get packed on a normal weekday so if coming on the weekend, I would try and get a reservation.

Solid bar with bar food. Service was a bit lacking, but it did seem busy. Sushi was good, but very big and was hard to eat in one bite. Friends enjoyed their drinks. Ambiance was exactly what you would expect from a sports bar. It was good, and of you are on the mood for simple bar food with an Asian twist, it is worth it.

Four of us came here for dinner on St.patrick's Day. They had some tempting specials in both food and drink for the "holiday" but I went on the regular menu. We all split the nachos and the wings. I am still confused about the wings. I thought there were 3 choices of hotness and 3 dips. I wanted mild. We got all hot wings and 4 containers of the same dip. I was disappointed. No one came back to check. I went with their old fashioned and the short rib grilled cheese. OMG it was way too much food- a foot long!!! It was very tasty although I wish it was hotter (temperature). I feel like it was done before everyone else's and was held until all dishes were done. The side of tater tots were good--again not piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their food but no one finished the massive quantities! Service was friendly and knowledgeable. I liked the atmosphere and the location near the Renaissance was perfect.

WOWZA...... I am absolutely blown away by the service and quality of food here. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Bears game playing, hawks game playing, great music playing, server was so attentive! 5 stars, 11/10 for everything! Now to the food, I must of died and went to heaven because the steak burger and Chicago sushi roll were out of this world!!!! The burger was cooked exactly how we wanted it. The sushi is top notch quality - I don't say that often about sushi but this place is a hidden gem for unique rolls. This place has it all :) the flavors were bursting and not overly salted or spiced! You are missing out on one of the best gems in Schaumburg if you haven't tried this place! Keep it up Westwood - you guys have something special here!

Had a quick girls' night here--my first time after hearing good things. I got a ginger beer and a lavender lemonade (strong on the lavender but still refreshing), and my friend loved her strawberry margarita. We shared a sushi roll with mango, asparagus, and shrimp tempura--really good with spicy mayo. Also got pulled chicken nachos, calamari with garlic aioli, and garlic Parm fries with three dipping sauces--the garlic aioli was our favorite. The steak teriyaki skewers were okay, but I personally wish they were chicken instead. Our server Frank was great--very attentive and friendly. I'd come back to try more sushi for sure!

    Dragon roll ($19)

I recently visited Westwood Tavern for the first time to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. My husband and I live nearby and have always said we wanted to try this place, and now we're glad we finally did. When walking in, we noticed how large the dining room was and how beautiful it was. The restaurant has an upscale atmosphere without having upscale pricing. We were upstairs (the dining room has two floors), and it seemed that we were seated around other larger parties. Consequently, the second floor was full of longer tables of people and louder crowds. I thought having larger groups together was smart of the restaurant to do. We were part of a large party of over 12 people, and our server handled it impressively well. He was friendly, kept a great attitude the whole time, and kept everyone's orders straight. That said, the only hiccup was the water service. My husband and I weren't drinking anything else, so we easily noticed that our waters took quite a while to be refilled, even after a couple of reminders. It was a bit frustrating, but not enough to take away from the overall experience. As for the food, it blew us away. I ordered the Red Dragon Roll ($19) with shrimp tempura, spicy crab, jalapeño, avocado, cucumber, and eel sauce. It was honestly the best sushi I've ever had. The ingredients were so fresh, and every bite had the perfect balance of flavor and texture. I'd come back just for that roll, and it made me want to try the other sushi rolls that the restaurant offers. I was shocked by how much I loved it! My husband had the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf ($22) served over redskin mashed potatoes with applewood bacon, BBQ sauce, and onion strings. He enjoyed it, though he felt the bacon didn't add much to the dish. In his words, "The bacon simply made a cameo in the meal." Still, the meatloaf itself was hearty and flavorful. Between the great food, lively atmosphere, and solid service (especially for such a big group), we're already looking forward to our next visit!

    'Osaka Style' Pressed Sushi
    Jason L.

Midwestern portions, boy do I miss them. I ordered a sushi "roll" and some meatloaf, and I think I could have fed an East Coast family of 4 with what I got. The Spicy Tuna Osaka Pressed Sushi was outstanding considering Schaumburg isn't exactly close to the ocean, I've had worse in San Diego. The meatloaf is the real story though... absolutely massive. Two giant pieces of meatloaf, wrapped in bacon, sitting on top of what looked like 4 potatoes. Awesome. I sat at the bar and had a nice view of the downstairs and excellent service from multiple bartenders, but there was a whole second floor I couldn't see, complete with a "sushi station".

    Red Dragon Roll. Yummy

I have not been to Westwood in a really long time. I am not sure why, the food is really good! The pulled chicken nachos are great. Tons of delicious shredded chicken along with the usual toppings. Sorry Village Tavern, you have been replaced when it comes to nachos. The red dragon sushi roll was tasty. The foot long grilled cheese was huge! And filled with tender flavorful braised short rib, mushrooms and tons of cheese. The tomato basil dip that comes with the sandwich was amazing. The cornbread side is yummy! Worth the price. The drinks are good. Our server was excellent. The restaurant is big with a comfortable vibe. I need to go here more!

    Party room upstairs
    Smith Family O.

Very nice place, chill, seems to be fun, and lively in a casual atmosphere. We came for a baby shower and I was really surprised by the lack of service or care. The party host purchased mimosas for all the ladies and it lacked champagne or wine even though they paid good money for it. You had to almost beg to get one and they made faces when you asked for one. Coffee service was better than mimosa service for sure. There was a variety of finger foods available to go around and there was plenty of food left over before the part ended but nobody was allowed to take anything with them even though it was paid for. We asked if the guys that had been consuming downstairs while the party was going on could have some food and we were told NO! The waiters were told to stack the food and take it away. I would not give them the business after spending thousands for this or any large party. I do give them credit for the taste of their food and for it being the perfect temperature but the way they acted was uncalled for. I would not return just because of this if I was in the area again. There's so many places that are worth visiting. Three stars only because of the place and taste of their food.

    Chicago Roll

I've been to Westwood Tavern a few times, and went again on Sunday to watch the Bears game. It's a spacious spot with plenty of seating, lots of TVs on both floors, and a solid setup for grabbing drinks or watching sports. The food is your typical bar food, but they do offer a wider variety than most places (sushi, signature entrees, etc.). My friends ordered wings, which looked solid. I was too bloated for burgers or wings, so I got the Chicago Roll. My boyfriend got the Tavern Prime Rib Dip with Tator tots and a beer. The place seemed pretty busy because of the game, and service reflected that. It was slow, the dishes came out late, and our server kept forgetting my boyfriend's beer. By his fourth beer, she delivered it to the wrong person at our table, so she definitely seemed a bit out of it. Taste-wise, my boyfriend's Prime Rib Dip was fine, nothing special, but not bad. My roll was bland, lacked flavor, and tasted a little fishy, like the fish was just defrosted. My boyfriend tried a piece, and I finished the rest cause we don't waste food in our household. Unfortunately, I ended up with a stomachache, mild nausea, and bathroom trips that night and into the next day, and my boyfriend joined me the day after our dinner here. Lesson learned: probably shouldn't order sushi at an American bar. Price-wise, the food here is pricey for what you get, and the quality is mid (at least the food I've tried), so the value isn't great. This is a place I'd come back to for wings, burgers, and beer if I'm already in the area or meeting friends for a game, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

    Open on Christmas day?

Hello Hal, We will be closed on Christmas day. Enjoy the holidays.…

Do they charge a fee for using a credit card or a discount for cash payment?

No. It's just like every other restaurant.

    Is the restaurant wheelchair friendly?

Yes. It is ADA compliant. They have an elevator in the back my girlfriend who had recently broken her hip used. Just tell the staff when you come in and they will assist.

What time do they stop serving food on the weekends?

I believe they do last call for their kitchen at 1030pm

For patio table for party of three on a Thursday evening - best time to arrive to get one?

Do they have a happy hour and if so what day(s) and time?

They have daily drink specials, I don't believe they have happy hour, hope that helps. Cheers!

Does this restaurant offer vegan options?

Not a whole lot of good vegan options here. I ended up eating tater tots.
