Came out to Global Brew Tap House on a Friday Evening to enjoy the nice weather over a bite and a beer. The inside has a huge bar and quite a bit of table seating as well as chalkboard displays of their food menu and on tap beer selections. We opted to sit on their back outdoor patio. We were unsure to start if we needed to order at the bar or if someone would coke around. Thankfully, the thought was short lived as Mike, also the bartender, came over to ask what we wanted. He had great recommendations, let me sample (2) ciders on draft before selecting, and even remembered us from a brief visit we had made about 1.5 months ago! Talk about hospitality and kindness! I ended up ordering the Naked Pear cider and my partner ordered (2) options from Spencer Brewing and Rhinegeist Brewery. The menu has a couple of items that are Indian Inspired (tikka masala chicken wings, new delhi grilled cheese, and mumbai flatbread). We got the bavarian pretzel and new delhi grilled cheese which were both tasty! The food is a bit pricey for portions but one can definitely tell it is all freshly made. I'd recommend checking out Global Brew and we will certainly be back to try out a happy hour!

Great find in Schaumburg area. Located in a strip mall of Golf Road. We started off with Inhazion IPA (not pictured). Decent beer. After finishing this we then ordered a round of Summer Crush. This is an excellent beer. To go along with our beers we shared a Mumbai Flatbread. Glad we did as the spices hit well with our Summer Crush IPA! Each bite of the Mumbai flatbread hits you with spices and some sweetness. It was evenly balanced. Glad it was recommended! Service was wonderful. They took their time to offer beer selection after discussing what we were interested in. Glad the gentleman mentioned to pair our beer selection with Mumbai Flatbread. Will be back here again next time we are in the area.

Super friendly staff and owner with some great food. Short Rib Grilled - very tender short rib w/ bacon jam (it basically tastes like it sounds). Some nice gooey cheese with perfectly toasted bread (though one side gets soggy from sitting on the tray it's served on). Table Tots - a half sheet trade with a row (lengthwise) of dipping sauces and tots filling the rest. The tots are perfectly crispy and unseasoned so it can mesh with the sauces properly. These are the choices as I understand it: Bang bang - like a chipotle mayo mildly spicy and creamy - one of my faves Ranch - boring Korean pepper - like gauchochong - quite good slightly spicy - one of my faves Mango habanero w a sweetness - like sweet thai chili but w/ habanero so much spicier we added beer cheese for extra charge - this was great, it would also have been perfect for a pretzel - the best flavor of them all Garlic aioli - garlic and mayo, how can you go wrong, also one of my faves

Plenty of craft beers in a can to pick from.

Great craft beer selection at reasonable prices. The bartender Francisco is very friendly and knowledgeable. Based on what I like, he picked out a good beer for me. You can get a little sample before getting a glass on tap. The place has a nice vibe to it. The meat and cheese board is one of the best I have ever had. Quality and unique cheeses and meats with fresh fruit, honey, tasty fruit spread, assortment of crackers and candied pecans. So worth the cost. The tandoori chicken sandwich had the right amount of chicken, cheese, veggies and sauce on perfectly toasted French bread. Very good. I should have ordered the tater tots but too full. Next time because I'll be going back for sure!

Yes please... again and again. I honestly enjoyed myself - they had so many drinks on available. I was little jealous this isn't in Michigan - they also offer a membership basically once you drink 50 different drinks (beers), then you'll get a free t-shirt. #goals And baby let me tell you.... YOU NEED TO TRY THE BANG BANG TOTS. It's new so not sure how long it's going to be on the menu but i'm a fan of those. The cook was nice too - let me sample some tots he just made for himself. Lol! Of course I didn't say no and I glad I didn't. Happy Eating!!!

If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!

If you read my Yelp on the original location, you'll learn I was quite impressed with the unique qualities of the bread and circuses therein. THIS store, however, is not a funky old Chitown corner tavern, repurposed into a brilliant resto as the original is. It has the appearance and feel of a corporate outpost with NONE of the intrinsic vibe and atmosphere of the paternal iteration. It's a big room, with an enclosed "patio" that had even less charm. One of the great things about the original is the non-exclusive yet cordial service, hinting at rough trade, yet somehow I believe this is a manufactured behavior, for fun. Kind of like if Ed Debevic was a hardcore outlaw biker. (IYKYK). The servers here were kind of cheerless, and aloof. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was yum. A wedge salad was next, and that too, was pretty tasty. So I started to think, "Ok this isn't the original Kuma's, but the Schaumburg audience is going to be a bit different than the Northside Hipsters". When you're aware of circumstances, attitudes change. Wife played it safe, eschewing all the ooga-booga burgers of the menu and just going for a regular burger, ketchup, mayo, tomato, onions, no cheese please. Cooked medium. I, however, remembered seeing someone on TeeVee having a "Plague Bringer" supposedly redolent of Garlic and fiercely chilli'ed. Right up my alley! I bid the Waitron to bring it with all speed. The burgers appeared shortly. Wife noticed the tomato on her plate had an unsavory black & grey area in its innards. obviously rotten. How the expediter ever let that get out of the Kitchen, I dont know. It was sent back an returned with an excuse it was a bit of olive that got mixed up with the tomato. I immediately checked the menu to see if they OFFERED anything, anywhere with black olives, and there wasn't anything there. I asked the same of the Waitron, and got the same answer. As wife didn't put the tomato on her burger, it was shuffled to the side. Wife said the burger was nothing special, And neither was my "PlagueBringer". The expected Garlic onslaught was nowhere to be found, neither was the anticipated chilli pepper sting. All I could taste were the french fried onions (the same ones you find on greenie beanie casseroles during your Grandmother's Thanksgiving dinner) heaped under the top pretzel bun hood. A segregated bite found the burger patties un-seasoned and not terribly tasty (both mine and Wife's burger). What a bummer. They gave a very small discount on the burger as an apology for the offending tomato slice. We don't go into restos with a defensive attitude. We HATE sending things back, and will only take a discount or comp if the kitchen or service ABSOLUTELY shit the bed. Wife had the queasies for the rest of the day thinking other vegetations on her burger (or the burger itself) had evidence of mishandling. Fortunately, there was no food sickness. Yes, there was heavy metal music playing very loudly throughout our visit, making conversation difficult, but I knew that would prolly be the case on the way in. The whole thing was disappointing. I was hot-to-trot about the original store and how they seemed they were taking a stand against any restaurant taking itself too seriously. It wouldn't surprise me to learn the folks who financed this outpost mandated some marketing fuck to whitewash the "Heavy Metal" concept, as seen in countless corporate restos based on a charming, small joint, and having none of its original DNA. Doug Sohn was so right to never franchise "Hot Doug's", lest the accountants make a pudding of his concept and vibe as they obviously did here with Kuma's I should have known when I walked in the front door and did not see a placard with the "house rules" nearby. It's a one star. The Old Fashioned and Salad weren't THAT good.

Two young girls were repeatedly running in and out of the restrooms, slamming the doors, yelling, and disturbing other customers nearby. A staff member asked that the behavior stop. Instead of acknowledging the issue and correcting them herself, MaryBeth took exception to the correction and doubled down. I stayed long enough to see how it played out. Despite what she implies, no one was cited or charged with anything. The police responded, made it clear they were uninterested in the situation, and everyone went on with their day. People can certainly have different opinions about how the situation should have been handled, but this review does not accurately reflect what I witnessed. Most parents either wouldn't allow their children to behave that way in the first place or would simply correct them and move on. Writing a review that misrepresents what happened is another matter entirely.
