A huge shout out to the bartender on Tuesday night. The place was packed at 9pm (and until the trivia ended not too long after), and this gentleman was the seemingly the only bartender, server, and waitstaff. No patrons appeared annoyed/ angry... so he was keeping up fairly well. I would say that at 9pm when we arrived, it was fairly loud inside with the trivia going on. That's not my jam, but if it happens to be of interest, folks seemed like they were all having a blast. As soon as the trivia ended, there was a max exit from the establishment. There are a bunch of on tap and canned selections of different beers and a few wines and sangria on tap, as well. We didn't get any food, but there was reportedly a couple of kitchen staff working. I did see a platter of tots being brought out that looked good. Overall a great place to dive into for a good beer. It's in the same parking lot as Binnys. read more

It has been some time since we have visited Global Brew Schaumburg so we were way overdue. We visited early on St. Patty's Day and enjoyed a few samples before commiting to a pint. I love that there are always a few great ciders on tap or in cans too. Hubby tried the Chimay and also a Phase Three (P3) Amber. P3 always has some great IPAs or a Stout to try, but I really like the smoothies too. It is fun to sit at the bar and look at the many cans, bottles and drink options. Happy hour tater tots with beer cheese are a perfect shareable bite. We left before the night got too packed for Shenanigans and trivia. Always terrific and friendly service here. Came out to Global Brew Tap House on a Friday Evening to enjoy the nice weather over a bite and a beer. The inside has a huge bar and quite a bit of table seating as well as chalkboard displays of their food menu and on tap beer selections. We opted to sit on their back outdoor patio. We were unsure to start if we needed to order at the bar or if someone would coke around. Thankfully, the thought was short lived as Mike, also the bartender, came over to ask what we wanted. He had great recommendations, let me sample (2) ciders on draft before selecting, and even remembered us from a brief visit we had made about 1.5 months ago! Talk about hospitality and kindness! I ended up ordering the Naked Pear cider and my partner ordered (2) options from Spencer Brewing and Rhinegeist Brewery. The menu has a couple of items that are Indian Inspired (tikka masala chicken wings, new delhi grilled cheese, and mumbai flatbread). We got the bavarian pretzel and new delhi grilled cheese which were both tasty! The food is a bit pricey for portions but one can definitely tell it is all freshly made. I'd recommend checking out Global Brew and we will certainly be back to try out a happy hour! read more

Update, while their website says Happy Hour is until 6pm on Fridays, on Untappd it's now only until 4pm, and when we came in we were told the same. So while they still have a good beer selection, and a little patio out back, I'm going to miss rushing here after a long work week. But a 4pm cutoff is just too early for us and there are other happy hours in the area. Wish they'd at least update the website to reflect the change. read more

Yesterday was my birthday, went out to a nice dinner and decided to go into global brew haven't been in a long time. My experience was wonderful. I met Christina and she really made my birthday. Such a special experience. She's so kind caring and funny and a great beer tender to boot. My only complaint is to the owners. A woman should never be working alone at night in a tap room. I'm in the industry and my manager and owner always made sure that a coworker was closing with me and they could walk me to my car to keep me safe! Nowadays, anything can happen anywhere. read more

Great find in Schaumburg area. Located in a strip mall of Golf Road. We started off with Inhazion IPA (not pictured). Decent beer. After finishing this we then ordered a round of Summer Crush. This is an excellent beer. To go along with our beers we shared a Mumbai Flatbread. Glad we did as the spices hit well with our Summer Crush IPA! Each bite of the Mumbai flatbread hits you with spices and some sweetness. It was evenly balanced. Glad it was recommended! Service was wonderful. They took their time to offer beer selection after discussing what we were interested in. Glad the gentleman mentioned to pair our beer selection with Mumbai Flatbread. Super friendly staff and owner with some great food. Short Rib Grilled - very tender short rib w/ bacon jam (it basically tastes like it sounds). Some nice gooey cheese with perfectly toasted bread (though one side gets soggy from sitting on the tray it's served on). Table Tots - a half sheet trade with a row (lengthwise) of dipping sauces and tots filling the rest. The tots are perfectly crispy and unseasoned so it can mesh with the sauces properly. Huge selection of beers on tap, so we got flights so we could try more. Two flights were $51(!!), so we won't be orderithat again. We stopped in for a drink on the patio on a nice afternoon. Forget the patio, it absolutely sucks. Garbage dumpsters on either side, trash laying on the ground. This would be so easy to fix, 20' of 4' high privacy fence on either side and a couple flower boxes, done. Still, if you skip the patio and don't go for a flight, staff was friendly and helpful, inside is nice enough and not loud. We'd go again, but on a rainy day. read more

I went to Global Brew for the first time on this past Monday (4/28) and tried to order 2 DIFFERENT cocktails from the menu that BOTH bartenders said they didn't know how to make. They said that the head bartender hadn't taught them how to make them yet. In the future, it's probably a good idea to have all employees be trained on a menu item before putting it on the menu. Great craft beer selection at reasonable prices. The bartender Francisco is very friendly and knowledgeable. Based on what I like, he picked out a good beer for me. You can get a little sample before getting a glass on tap. The place has a nice vibe to it. The meat and cheese board is one of the best I have ever had. Quality and unique cheeses and meats with fresh fruit, honey, tasty fruit spread, assortment of crackers and candied pecans. So worth the cost. The tandoori chicken sandwich had the right amount of chicken, cheese, veggies and sauce on perfectly toasted French bread. Very good. I should have ordered the tater tots but too full. Yes please... again and again. I honestly enjoyed myself - they had so many drinks on available. I was little jealous this isn't in Michigan - they also offer a membership basically once you drink 50 different drinks (beers), then you'll get a free t-shirt. #goals And baby let me tell you.... Cute place next to a medical building in a random shopping center! I met up with friends for music and dinner. We had fun and learned more about the place -- like, it orders kegs from brewers all over the country, but doesn't reorder the same flavors. So, if you find a beer you really like, don't expect it to be available the next time you're there! I ordered the Bavarian pretzel and a glass of wine -- because I'm just classy like that. The pretzel was huge and came with two dipping sauces that were good. Our server was friendly and the place was not busy at all, which was good for us, but probably not for business. Like other reviewers, this place is a hidden gem!! I am not a beer lover, but my bf is and there were just so many selections to choose from! Due to COVID, many of the tables were "out of service" so individuals can distance from other parties. There's also a nice patio area outside, which was a treat especially on nice days! I cannot comment on the beer (but my bf seemed to enjoy all the ones he ordered with his flight). I can comment on the food: The food here is delicious! We ordered the bang bang tots (super large portion!), peri peri wings, and the chicken flat bread to share between the two of us. We loved each of the dishes we ordered and it was the perfect amount of food. I would definitely recommend the tots! read more

I like this place. Tons of beers to choose from. My friend and I met here for happy hour on a Wednesday night. Some people there but far from packed. The server was really nice. Our only snag was when we got the bill. My friend had asked how much one of the Bourbon County bottles was, and he and the server nerded out over their love of that brand. The beer was $20. OK, we'll go for it. We got the bill, and that beer was $35! We asked about it; she apologized (genuinely) and said the flavor we got was more than what she thought we were asking about. We were tired and tipsy so we didn't argue it further, but I regret not pushing back more. Even worse that she didn't adjust the bill at all. I'll probably be back at some point, but make sure you watch the bill since hardly any prices are listed. read more

Went here today with my husband, as we wanted to try something new for our date day. We were looking forward to this, as the reviews seemed really positive. When we sat down, I noticed that the menus were covered with grease and leftover food. Our waitress was good, and it was her first day, so she did a great job! It took a while for use to get our beers, and I am not sure why, as there were only six people in the whole place. The manager didn't seem to know his own beer list, as they struggled to find the beer I asked for. The prices for the beer aren't bad at 7-8 bucks a beer. Our problem was the food. They mostly serve tater tots and grilled cheese, which seemed appealing, as who doesn't love some tots and grilled cheese!? We order the "tatchos," which were tater tots with nacho cheese, sour cream, giardenerra, jalapeños, bacon, and a cup of beer cheese on the side. You got to pick the meat, so we went with bacon. The tots were cooked inconsistently, as some were crispy, but others were mushy and undercooked. The bacon was damn near nonexistent, as it was crumbled like my hopes and dreams for this place. The fact that the beer cheese was served on the side was weird, as they already dumped nacho cheese and sour cream on the tots, so why not smother the rest of the mess in some beer cheese? Also, charging 13 dollars for tots is egregious at best. They're tots. Now for the grilled cheese. I had ordered the, "Brussels," which is supposed to have Brie cheese, apricot jam, applewood smoked bacon, and onions. What I got was two pieces of toast with apricot jam and onions; hardly any Brie cheese, and the bacon was diced up like bacon bits. It was a disappointment, as that sandwich could have had some really great flavors, but instead those flavors where cut down just like the bacon. My husband ordered the, "Miami," which was their version of a Cubano (he loves a good Cubano). Folks...You cannot charge nine dollars for a sandwich, if you are going to use Hillshire Farm prepackaged deli meat...That ham was processed, and in no way was that sandwich even worth the nine bucks. Would we come back here for a beer? Yes. Would I recommend eating here? Probably not, unless you like overpriced cafeteria food. I'm not sure if the cook was new, but they need to figure it out quick. read more

Really glad our initial plans fell through and we decided to come here (open late on Sundays!). They were super nice and helpful when my friend and I were trying to decide on a beer, giving us samples after telling them what types we tend to go for. It would have been nice if there was a beer list (including short description, alcohol content, and price), but we both like what we got. There is a window at the back where you order food (pretzel and tots were both good, especially the beer cheese sauce with the pretzel). Food prices were a little high, for example the grilled cheese sandwiches were $7.50-9 (side of tots $4). That being said, we couldn't finish our pretzel or tots. Still a very good beer choices (and limited food, mostly variations on grilled cheese and tator tots. Unfortunately, no longer at a gastronomy haven or gastro pub quality level). Service-wise also happened to visit on an extremely busy Saturday night, so no longer does one order food separately with self-service pickup at the kitchen window. All food is ordered via the bartender or servers and delivered by them, which leads to the their biggest problem current. When they are very very busy (like tonight) staff can hardly keep up with beverage orders and the food (like an after thought) sits waiting on the counter growing cold. Owner is a sweet man who hustled alongside his two bar tenders/servers/barbacks/runners...which lies the crux of the problem. NOT enough help to insure promptness. Saw many a patron staring longingly at either the counter near the food service window or at the bar keeps with the same pained expression..."please let us get our food while it's still edible". Witnessed many a (formerly picked clean) wooden platter of food that was only 1/3 to 1/2 eaten. This is not a sustainable business model. Sad to see, as it used to be so much better. On a positive note, live music was pleasant and not too loud. FYI, Doggos haven't been allowed in 3 years, but not the owner's fault (is a village ordinance). Glad this establishment made it through COVID, just would like see it rise to a level of former quality. Not hopeful. read more

My bf and I have been here a few times before and during covid. Every time we come we are very happy with the draft options and end up spending a decent amount of time trying new beers. We came here again yesterday and had a great time relaxing, drinking and talking with the owner. They are doing their absolute best with social distancing and cleanliness. Love this hidden gem! I was back home visiting family and my brother and I were looking for a place to drink some craft beer. They have 50 beers on tap and about another 100 in the coolers. The taps are cool standby rotating so things are always new - plus lots of local IL brews! The guys behind the bar were great! I ended up going back again a few days later with others, and will definitely stop each time I'm in town! Oh, and they have some great grilled cheese options from the window in the back! read more

But the bartender with all the tats (I think his name is Dave!?!) made up for it in more ways than 1!!!
