reionator Pro sold and installed by First rate Plumbing- kind of helped but not great-- noticed it had been leaking down tank white water streak-- only 6 years old - first rate plumbing came out looked at it and said it was no longer good and must be replaced -gave me a price for replacement system.. when questioned about repairing, was told it cost at least $1500 and company was no longer in business parts very difficult to come by.. ..Called another company to get a quote on replacement water filter system -Plumber came out --replaced a $.3o cent gasket --with very available parts used for reionator.. adjusted the dials -put a different filter in, 2 hours and $236 later now have filter system fixed and working better than when first installed. too much damage done to 3 toilets that have to be replaced due to hard water plugging up holes read more

My furnace gave out. First Rate plumbing chose the furnace and replaced it. The city inspector cited them for installing it with the exhaust to close to a window. The fix would be to make the window inoperable or re-install the furnace (which would require duct alteration) at my expense. That is, if have to pay for 2 installations. I was not advised of the problem prior to the install. If there were no other configuration to choose from I should have been told so and I could have elected the alteration as the first installation. Terrible company, not only do they charge double other companies but they are not reputable. I scheduled a service on May 19th and gave them $700.00 down payment. The following day I canceled the service after getting other quote for 50% less. It is now May 30th and even after numerous calls to their office I have been unable to get a refund. Our furnace stopped blowing hot air in winter and my simple Google troubleshooting wasn't enough so called these guys after seeing reviews and word of mouth. I messaged them through their website over the weekend and they were able to send someone out same day Monday after calling me in the morning. Sean ended up being my service man and was great as far as service, explaining how things work and what he was doing. He helped save some money and further needed repairs on parts that were on their way out to complete at once. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is the pricing on parts I found overpriced. I ended up replacing 3 parts and each was charged $95-120. After looking them up online I could have gotten them at a fraction of those costs. read more

Recently had Jake out to install my tankless water heater. Not only was he thorough and explained how everything worked. He gave me a better understanding on how having a tankless water heater would save us on our energy bill over a conventional water heater. We had a shower cylinder break in our guest bedroom. They fixed that issue & then replaced the guts of the toilet to stop it from running constantly. All done in 90 minutes. Price gouging. This company's price estimate was extremely high, MUCH higher than price quotes received from other (highly rated) companies for the same work. I gave this company 2 stars (not lower, despite my main concern), because they did reply in a timely manner when contacted, which was appreciated. Always price compare with multiple companies. We had a 1/2 horsepower sump pump that came with a 3 year old home. It burned out and we replaced it with a 1 horsepower pump by this company. It cost $1900. Then 9 months later the 1 horsepower pump burned out when they are supposed to last 10 + years. Replaced this pump with another. First rate determined the underground issue and fixed issue. Smell of sewage in house a few weeks later. They installed this the 3rd pump (another $1900 later) so that the float was hitting a pipe and not cycling correctly. If they had determined the cause of the misplumbing issue the first time they were out, it could have saved the second pump cost! Ugh! Not impressed. read more

This company wanted to charge 335.00 dollars without any taxes to repair a single handle delta shower faucet. The actual work consisted of replacing 2 black rubber seats, and 1 o-ring. That's all my shower needed to stop it from dripping. This company really needs to re-examine its pricing. Instead of telling you that the service call is 85 dollars they tell you how much the service call is without tax (79 dollars). That I thought was a little underhanded. So I ended up paying 85 dollars for the service call. I just can't believe how much this company wants to charge for changing 2 black rubber seats (such a simple repair). I do not recommend this company all they want is your money. read more

These guys have no clue what's going on!!!! Had them out when buying my home for the sump pump and sewer inspection. They failed to see any concerns which ended in a failed sump pump. After paying for a new one they installed more issues came up and just a few weeks later new one failed again! I had to buy a third pump! Multiple issues arose only to find out after a 4 time servicing my home they finally noticed the issue. Which was a small flushing system not working properly. Had they done their job the first time and seen this very easy fix I wouldn't have have had to buy two sump pumps and the original one with the house would still be working. The overall attitude of the employees was unfriendly and argumentative. The head plumper John come out as well and can see he sets the overall attitude of the company. They are rude and complacent! They are not good plumbers and not nice people to work with! I would strongly suggest not using this company for any plumbing needs. When I mentioned to them I would talk to a lawyer about them not going their job and costing me a ton of money, they told me they would no longer work on my pump again and taking the warranty away. Also got a letter from them in the mail saying I had wrote a bad review on Yelp! Well at that time I had not! But after the letter of lies I decided I would now write one! So here you go First Rate! Truth is out! ***To add this Owners response is laughable! These people will do or say anything to save face! Sad really! I wish First Rate Plumbing all the luck! read more

What a great experience at First Rate plumbing! I have a brand new stacking washer and dryer but unfortunately a very old cast iron drain pipe from 1958 that was too narrow to accommodate the fast draining water resulting in a small flood after the first use of the washer..ugh! I called one place that was going to charge me $150 just to take a look..yikes! Thank goodness I found great reviews for First Rate and gave them a call. $75 with no hidden surprise costs. The polite and friendly plumber Brad even went above and beyond the call of duty trying to fix the issue by getting into the crawlspace full of cobwebs and dirt, poor guy..it was even after 5 o'clock quitting time and he didn't complain or charge extra. After assessing the problem he found it necessary to replace 10 ft of pipe under the house which he accomplished just a couple of days later in only 2 1/2 hours by himself. I was impressed by the cost, his politeness and professionalism and the fact that he tested the washing machine twice to make sure all was flowing smoothly. Was very conscientious about social distancing and face mask wearing also. Oh, he also cut and plugged an unnecessary water softener pipe free of charge!
