I think I accidentally dined inside Elsa's ice palace from Frozen. The food? Incredible. My Cobb salad was crisp and perfect, and my mom's soup-and-sandwich combo was so good she nearly declared it "better than my cooking" (which, for the record, has NEVER been said out loud before). But let me tell you, the air conditioning wasn't just set to "cool." It was set to "blast freezer preparing popsicles for the apocalypse." I swear I saw my fork fog up. My mom's soup came out hot, but five minutes in, it was auditioning as gazpacho. Thankfully, our server Skyler was an absolute legend. She treated my mom like a rockstar on her farewell tour--smiles, attention, the whole VIP experience. If Beyoncé ever moonlighted as a brunch server, she'd still be taking notes from Skyler. First watch is a very good restaurant to eat breakfast. We had family come in from out of town for two weeks in a row and we went to First Watch for breakfast. There was a little bit of a wait, but I did call in prior to going to this restaurant and they alerted me as to how long we must wait . Once we were seated, the server came and probably took our orders. She was very attentive to all of our needs. I would highly recommend this food. It is delicious. We will come again however, it is a little pricey. For four people to have breakfast, our bill was $77. read more

Let me start by saying usually our experience here is very pleasant but the last two visits have been horrible and it's been with the same server. We came on 6/19 and we had a server named Naveah (not sure if that's how you spell it) but she was extremely slow. We were seated at least 10 minutes before she even came to the table to take our drink order, that was our first red flag. Once she did come she took our order and things moved pretty fast. We came again on 6/26 and were seated in her section and again she walked right past us. My wife and I sat there for 10 minutes and I went and asked the host could they reseat us in another section (without making a scene) and he escorted us outside. Thinking we would have a different server we were relieved but then out the door comes the same server whose section we left. She took our order and came back to the table with the other tables drinks. When she came back with ours the table was soaked from the cups and she didn't leave any napkins. The final straw was my wife's food came out ten minutes before my food so she sat there and her food was getting cold while I waited on mine. We have never had our food come out separately. When the server came back I asked her when did the food start coming out separately and she gave us this spill about there being no food warmers and that always being the policy. Anywhos, we won't give up on First Watch because we love the food but we will definitely ask the host whose section we are being seated in because if it is hers we will politely decline. She's very slow and since this is our second experience with her subpar service we are guessing that's just how it is. read more

The food was yummy and very fresh. The oatmeal with a wonderful Blueberry muffin, the pancakes an eggs, and the Hometown skillet was wonderfull. And, the service was stellar. Hubby and I were over in this area and I suddenly remember that there was a First Watch close by! So, we zoomed right over there! It was a Saturday so we had to wait a bit, which was fine. About 15 minutes later we were seated. I love First Watch so I was a happy camper! I always order the same thing; The Traditional which is eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast! Hubby got an omelet. Our server was friendly and kind which always makes for a nice Experience. Our food came out quickly and as always, it was delicious! Well, most of it was. I did have one little complaint about my scrambled eggs. They were way over cooked and brown, but everything else was great so I didn't say anything. First time at First Watch and had the BEST chocolate chip pancakes. Food service was absolutely amazing, and our waitress, Emily, gave us some backstory of her life and how she was a waitress. Haven't dined at a First Watch in some time, so today was the day to get reacquainted. We arrived at 8:30am on Sunday at the O'Fallon location and there was no wait. They offer call-ahead seating so take advantage of that. Jamie was our server and was super polite and helpful. I wished they offered espresso drinks like lattes. Their coffee leaves a lot to be desired. And I wished they served fresh half and half so we didn't have to use those plastic cups sitting in a bowl. We ordered the Steel Cut Oatmeal, Biscuit and Sausage Gravy, plus Eggs and the Bacado Omelet. Our order was quickly prepared, tasty and oh so filling. I actually love this place! The food is delicious and the service is amazing! We had a huge party of 14 people. They accommodated us and got everyone's order correct! I had an omelette, potatoes and a waffle. I really don't like omlettes with the vegetables folded in but it was ok. I will definitely go back here whenever we are in town. I have been here before and the only criticism is that the food doesn't come out together. It's understandable with a big party. But not when it's not a big party! But I highly recommend this place. This was roughly my 2nd shot at trying this spot. I decided to take my step kids out for breakfast. We went on a Saturday morning around 9. Mind you, they were busy. Had a 20 estimated wait time. They do text you and let you know once your table is ready. They are only open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. We didn't wait but maybe 10 mins. So plan accordingly. I didn't get a chance to snap a photo of their front but they are on the corner of the building that shares with global brew and Bella Milanos. So parking is limited. Our server was Tracy- very friendly and she never rushed us. She handled the busy day pretty well. Most of the staff seemed to be taking it well. People kept coming in while we waited for our food. We all ordered coffee to drink. I took mine hot and the girls ordered theirs iced. One daughter wanted the French toast. I mean, the photo speaks for itself. She loved it! Second kid ordered the same sandwich as myself. Except I ordered the guac ( Avocado) on the side. The sandwich is called elevated breakfast sandwich. Comes with cheese, mayo, spinach, and bacon( which was very good) and a side of potato's. My potatoes didn't taste fully cooked, but I did enjoy the sandwich. The kid did too! While out of state visiting friends, I stayed at a hotel that was literally 3 minutes in walking distance to the First Watch restaurant. I was excited, as I have been hearing good reviews about the restaurant and always wanted to try it in Michigan, as there are a couple of locations close to me in Troy and Sterling Heights, but I never got around to going to either location. I took advantage of the opportunity to walk over to the restaurant, twice while I was on vacation. The first day I ordered the Farmhouse Hash (two eggs, potatoes, bacon, avocado, onions and tomatoes, and cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese). With a small cup of fruit. The food was really good! And the service was good! Prices were affordable and average prices in my opinion. And the restaurant was clean and an overall laid back ambiance. I went the next day bc I had to try the Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich (pork sausage, million dollar bacon, over easy egg, smoked Wisconsin Gouda, fresh arugula and Mike's Hot Honey drizzled on a griddled English muffin). I ordered Cheese Grits instead or the Mixed Greens that comes with the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was good, and I actually liked that the egg was more of a fried egg than over easy. I think that was the cooks glitch, but I liked it. The grits was a little bland and not as creamy as I would have liked. But still ok. I enjoyed the food and experiences both days that I dined at the restaurant! And I wouldn't mind going again in the future to try other food items from the menu! read more

Return visit. Our friendly server,Ashlie, met us with a warm friendly smile and we ordered our usual. I chose the classic breakfast with 4 turkey sausage links. The potatoes were so scrumptious! Their jams are sinfully delicious!! I had to try the Purple Haze drink! A unique flavor with a hint of lavender!!! Superb! They bring a pot of freshly brewed coffee to leave on the table, hubby loved that!!!! Hubby got the Trifecta with a soft fluffy Belgium waffle. Ashlie brought a warm bottle of syrup to our table! We attended a surprise 40th breakfast birthday party, and the waitress, Erika, did a great job handling our group's controlled chaos. She had good support from the other staff and management who came and checked on us. This new restaurant has a great look and was very clean. The food as usual was fantastic with so many options for everyone including vegetarian and gluten free options. We ordered from First Watch for the last time. This is supposed to be a good restaurant and we have had great service sitting down in the past, but this is the last straw. I ordered the million dollar potatoes, scrambled eggs, with turkey biscuits and gravy. We received no potatoes and the "scrambled eggs" is just a fried egg that got mixed up after they realized their mistake. People's laziness can be hilarious We tried to call the number to speak with a team member multiple times, but the phone just rings and rings, so here we are with poor review. Golden Oak is a far better alternative if you want good breakfast. read more

During a recent stay at a hotel behind this location, we ate there three times while in town for the total eclipse. The hotel's offering was lackluster so it didn't take much convincing to give First Watch a try. For our first visit, the place was packed. There was about a 20 minute wait. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service and awesome food. We liked it so much, we came back again and again. Each of the breakfast items was cooked to order, served hot and was fresh tasting. Also due to various dietary preferences/restrictions, we requested some items be substituted which was a breeze. Our party of four ordered breakfast each visit and all three times, the food came out hot, fresh tasting and in ample portions. First of all yum! We were looking for a brunch spot and boy did we find one. The food is so fresh! The service is fast. And the coffee...some of the best coffee I've had in awhile. They leave the whole coffee pot on the table for refills and you can ask for a cup to go before you leave. First visit I had the Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and my fiancé had the Eggs Benedict. And second visit I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes while my fiancé had the Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy with Eggs. 10/10 would recommend. I had the multi grain pancakes with the lemon ricotta. The pancakes were fluffy and had good taste. The lemon spread was good just not much of it as it was just on the top one. Despite my best efforts to distribute it I wound up with lots of plain pancakes. Overall great staff and they have a lot to choose from. As a first experience I was not overly impressed. The food is average while trying to be different which is fine but definitely room for improvement. I would go back to try something else. I really love the food at this restaurant. However, the two pancakes I wanted were 12.49. I didn't want two pancakes. I only wanted one instead of being $7. This cost me $10.50. I don't understand that. They charged me for one pancake which sells for $7.49 and then $2.99 for the toppings. And when asked I was told yes you can get one but she did not explain to me the cost. Staff were efficient, knowledgeable and, most impressively, INCREDIBLY ACCOMMODATING. I always enjoy my food selections when I visit First Watch in O'Fallon! I never go here on the weekends though-- because breakfast/brunch/lunch is so limited in the metro-east, this place is super crowded and when you are hungry in the morning, the last thing you want to do is wait 30 minutes to get seated. i will say they also have a strong take-out business, so you can always call in your order and pick it up. I love their seasonal specials as well as their traditional favorites, so every time I have visited the food is good, the service is great and the environment is clean and neat. read more

This is my second time here. I've waited for my coming back so badly. My first time here was my birthday, and it was fantastic, a perfect birthday breakfast. I couldn't wait to come back with my family. We all had an amazing time. The juices are amazingly refreshing and packed full of goodness. The food is always top tier quality and perfectly made. The service was fantastic, our server was so kind and we even talked with multiple other servers and had great conversations. We felt so welcomed. The service is so timely, if you're looking for a quick bite or a slower paced service this is a great place. It's also a very clean and well kept restaurant, which is hard to come across these days.
